In this video I wouldn't place him any older than 53, and he might be as young as 47, his salt and pepper hair and beard with the receding hair line make him look older, but his skin is still pretty healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if he was mid-40s, but the Troll scan clip from 2000 isn't doing him any favors.

Yeah, it's funny coz he's wrong. The only colour missing is Orange or maybe Red if you don't count one of them as being Red, so it'd be 5 out of 6.
All the stones use commonly found colours so with so many on screen there were bound to be similarities.

It’s very tiny but when I first saw it when this episode premiered I was like “oh no way!!!”
The bottom pad of the middle and ring finger kinda go through the top of the palm. Barely noticeable.
You can see the very bit of the tip of his finger it's as if its phasing through the glove only only shows for like 1 second
The part of his glove that covers his middle and ring fingers clipped through into the part of the glove that covers his palms.
Oof that look of pain on his face when they bring up the gauntlet clipping.
That's how you know he cares about his work

edit: Having looked for other sources, the actual armor is clipping. When Niko said finger bits I was assuming the actual fingers of the Thanos model would be clipping.

Keep a very close eye on the base of the middle finger that as he is closing his hand for the snap, the finger goes into his palm. Very subtle and hard to notice if you don't know exactly what you're looking for, I initially thought it was one of his fingers slightly poking through of the glove.

The entire final fight scene was so overwhelmingly awesome to watch and the thing that got me so hyped for no reason was watching Antman straight up clocking one of the space whales.
It reminded me of the History Lesson in Justice league. (Can't wait for the Snyder Cut btw)
I liked when he stepped on the "Hulk" bad guy. That was pretty epic.
@Drake Barnes I know I've seen all their names but none of them stuck with me. He was a seriously underused character because he should have been fighting with hulk or at a minimum with Thor. The first fight with iron Man and Spider-Man was cool but then we don't see him again until wakanda and he doesn't really do anything until the hulkbuster armor. That should have been the part of the movie for Hulk to get his payback.

In the movie business, you have to be able to work with others to succeed. Unlike other professions, if you have a bad personality type, nobody will work with you. For example, he understands that you need to give creative liberty to the filmmakers. If he was stubborn and said no the CGI should be like this, he would be out of the job

Honestly, I didn't quite appreciate that "The Oner" was all one cut until he literally mentioned it. You're so engrossed in the scene that you miss things like that, and it's probably because it's all one cut that everything going on just draws you in so deeply. Amazing
I loved the oner when I first watched it and still do. A similar-looking oner I really like too is when the armies clash in the final battle in Ready Player One
I liked being able to see them in the green screen move doing all their signature moves at once. It is so overcrowded in the final cut that you don't see a lot of that. Much respect to the actors for selling it so hard despite literally not seeing anything but a big empty green room.
I thought he said runner, so I thought it'd be the running the gauntlet scene, but oner is cool too😂

Legend has it that they weren't even sitting on a couch for this episode and WETA just added it in.
After this, I could believe that they were each in a different country on greenscreen, and Weta stitched the three of them together in a CGI Corridor Studios office. I don't think they did, but I think Weta could if they wanted to.

Damn, the Oner has got to be one of my favorite single shots not just in the MCU, but in any film. It was a lot of work, but those vfx artists, animators and everyone involved should be proud of that shot.

Y'all should do a VFX artists react to practical effects in the Star Wars prequels with Adam Savage, since he worked on them wile he was a part of ILM.
You can see him in one if the behind the scenes videos for the Matrix sequels. IIRC, he was working on the Zion miniature.
A: I agree because Adam and Jamie are amazing human beings.
B: There were practical effects in the prequels? I just wrote it off that George got a CGI boner and spooged all over the movies with it, basically abandoning his practical effects roots.
@@PamperedDuchess From what I've seen from behind-the-scenes videos, George seemed pretty reluctant to adopt new CGI technology. After all, it was the animators' initiative to replace puppet Yoda with a CG model.

@@PamperedDuchess More in Episodes I and II than in III, but yeah, there were TONS of practical elements. Loads of vehicle miniatures (the explosion of the Droid Control Ship in TPM is a model for example), buildings and locations (e.g. the Geonosis arena), and some pretty big sets (like the hangar on Naboo. There are even practical elements in the lava rivers on Mustafar.
It's funny because when I saw the movie I really had this feeling about Thanos being different in some shots and now I confirmed it. I personally prefer the "WETA" model rather than the "DD" one because the second one isn't as detailed.
I wish these episodes were like half an hour long. I’ve NEVER thought “Wow, that VFX artists react was TOO long.”

There are a crap ton of NDA and contracts you sign before joining a vfx team. Sure you can leak the spoilers, if you don't mind losing your job and get blacklisted from the industry.
They can't. You can get really screwed if you violate a NDA.

I just remember in theaters, when Tony said “and I am Iron Man”, it seemed to last a minute. Then when you watch it again, it only lasts for the 3-5 seconds that actually happened in the film lol
Just how perfect and tense the scene is. You KNOW the line and what it means and your mind is racing to the result and its full ramifications....your mind is thinking fast and your likely have a drip of adrenaline.
Jesus you gotta admire the sheer amount of detail in just the final battle of the movie (essentially the entire third act)

The one shot bit is so beautiful. The way the action flows and your eyes follow every action beat. Like when the one guy goes flying into the air and then the next action beat is ant man punching the air whale but it’s positioned at the same spot in the screen.

What I really love bout the "oner" is that moment when Giant Man hits the laviathan. That impact is so satisfyingly made and besides the end with Iron Man and Rescue is what I look forward to the most on a rewatch of that scene.

On a shot like that, you key what you can, and send out the rest for roto. There's a lot of roto and paint required anyway to insert all the cg characters.
Them showing the mistake on Thanos’ gauntlet and him saying “yep, we missed it...there’s always a little bit more than you can do.” just breaks my heart for how overworked these artists can be.

It happens pretty often when you visit your work back later, you see you missed things or feel you could do more. Not necessarily that is because of over work.

Probably my favorite shot in the movie is when Tony and Pepper are firing both of their big beams back to back.
I dunno, the Ancient One slapping Bruce Banner out of the Hulk and him being like "wait wtf" was pretty awesome

Great video. As a 3D designer it is really nice to see such professional studios run into clipping errors etc... Gives me hope :)
its the end of January 2022 and still to this day that final battle of end game still gives me chills and hypes me up so much. cap "AVENGERS......assemble" chills and goosebumps. Tony "And I....am...Ironman" still makes me tear up it is such an amazing scene just seeing the clips even in a vfx break down i still get these emotions WETA did such a good job.

That unintended aspect of the portals in the battle scene is so great. It really speaks to how when reviewers or video essayists point out some symbolism as intentional, they may be wrong.

This episode was awesome having an actual person from Weta come on the show to talk about their work. Weta and ILM are two of my favorite VFX studios working in Hollywood together they have made some of the best looking effects in movies. Their work includes movies like: Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes trilogy, Avatar, District 9, Transformers, Jurassic Park films, Game of thrones and the MCU films.
I like that you guys had the balls to call him out on his own error straight to his face lol
yeah when the rest of the video is "your work is unbelievable" I think among professionals laughing about a small error was pretty safe

It does take guts to tell someone above you that they've messed up. But anyone who is serious about their craft will be happy to hear about where they messed up and how to improve, that is, unless they've heard the same thing loads of times and can't do anything about it anymore. Honest critique is hard to get and extremely useful. It's a valuable thing to anyone serious about their craft.
3:45 there´s a silhouette of a couple kissing on the bottom right corner of that sofa, the cushion is pressed in a way that it looks like two faces kissing each other haha that´s some trippy stuff right there! lol

@@DASPRiD Thanos literally holds all 6 infinity stones that determine the rules of the universe, including the reality stone. So as laws of physics still apply in movies, they don't apply to a being who has all 6 infinity stones.
Not to mention it's a figurative snap, the sound comes from the finger hitting his palm, not his curled up fingers like it would in a regular snap

Main Stream ouf that wouldn’t work since people would’ve believed him because ruffalo and Holland are the spoiler royalty. Maybe could’ve worked with other actors to do that type of save.

The time and effort the visual artists put in the getting every minute detail perfect is so exhausting. No wonder the movie was such a big blockbuster

@@jasonblalock4429 I'm not totally sure, but the shot before he pops the question (the sorta dance routine they do with working on the ship in the moonlight) might be one continuous shot, I'd love to see their input on that being done, especially back then.

You know when they’re with an OG of the industry. They have a sort of gentle reverence to them. Their humbleness is refreshing!
