If the flood are so advanced on the ring to the point that they're able to hit and invade ships that haven't even landed yet that means that Ring 04 is just like, if not worse than the state of Ring 05. Just landing on the ring at this stage could be a death sentence on Heroic, and boy would it be nasty on Legendary! I suppose the first few missions would be nearly the same save with Flood and Covenant battling it out basically everywhere. You might be using the Blood Gulch or some other Vs map as a place for the Marines that made it out to set up and use as a temporary HQ as far as story is concerned. Maybe a brief holdout mission takes place there later in the game before Keys or Johnson give you a mission to retrieve a transport ship capable of FTL from the Pillar of Autumn afterward. "This place obviously isn't safe anymore!" The mission where you rescue Captain Keys would probably be geared more towards trying to hijack the ship and escape that hellscape rather than being a rescue mission. If Guilty Spark hasn't been captured and corrupted by The Flood yet you'd probably run into him much sooner in the game, perhaps even halfway through that Hijack mission. He and Captain Keys would argue about escape vs activating the Halo as a priority. In the end something happens to separate Chief and Keys and Guilty Spark convinces him to retrieve The Index and head for the control room. Maybe to activate the ring, maybe to coordinate resistance against The Flood better, whatever the reason, you eventually head there. The Covies have already found the control room and are even more heavily entrenched than they are in the vanilla game, but by far by more Hunters, Jackals, and Grunts on the front and mid-lines since unlike Elites they can't be infected and turned into combat forms by the Infection-forms. As you approach a cutscene starts where Chief is point out by a Jackal and they prepare to unleash a hail of gunfire on you....but as the first shot is about to be fired one of the Elites commands them to stand down. "A human approaches by the side of an Oracle! Surely this is a sign! Hold fire...for now." Guilty Spark explains what they've arrived to do though there is predictable (from the player's perspective) confusion. To the Covies, they stand upon a religious artifact left behind by their Gods. To the Chief and Cortana, it's an unbelievably sophisticated machine that is both an artificial world and a weapon, but still only that. To Guilty Spark it's a home and a weapon and his personal place to protect. (To the player...well, only you the player know what it is to you.) Regardless, in the end you're allowed to enter so long as Guilty Spark remains with you. But the Covenant commanding officer insists that an escort go with you both as their religious rites demand and because as much as they trust the Oracle, they DON'T trust the chief. Not seeing any other choice despite violating protocol (much to Guilty Spark's objections), they proceed. What happens now, though? Is the ring activated and they all die (because Cortana wasn't put in the system beforehand like in the vanilla game and so doesn't know what the ring ACTUALLY does and can't steal The Index) but The Flood are contained? Does The Flood arrive on-site and ring safety protocols demand that they be dealt with before interaction with the system is allowed and shortly after human reinforcements arrive and a more thorough questioning of Guilty Spark from Keys reveals what the ring REALLY does? Does another higher-ranking fanatical Covenant officer arrive and in a fury at Chief's trespass on holy ground interrupts the activation and a fight breaks out forcing the Chief to flee with the activated button not being pushed? Do additional Covenant reinforcements arrive an hour or two earlier to attempt to deal with the flood in force and their battle damages the ring's systems enough to force the ring's activation to be delayed so Chief puts Cortana into the control room's computer to find out the fastest way to fix it? One little detail changed could have LOTS of consequences to both the story and gameplay. But modding that into the game would probably call for several entirely new levels to be made.

I honestly think the Flood from CE is an extremely underrated enemy. Most players (often people who aren't "Halo fans" but play the game) see them as annoying and that they turn the game into a slog fest. However I always liked the way they're constantly on top of you for one. It takes Halo's shield recharge mechanic to a whole new level because you actually have to fight for breathing room to geta chance to recharge your shields. They also give the game this aggressive energy toward the end that it wouldn't have otherwise. Just having to unload assault rifle and shotgun rounds, making perfectly time nade tosses to reduce their numbers. And I love the way they always force you to be aware of your surroundings. Like the flood can literally be anywhere and they all pose a threat. Infection forms seem non-threatening but that's only until your shields are down, then your constantly rushing to take them out as they each swarm in to get a bite on you. Carrier forms are like a bomb that can drop on you at any point, and are equally as dangerous to them as they are to you, making or hectic encounters. And the combat forms have that slow gaping zombie walk where they surround you from all directions and are like the perfect video game enemies because they are just big hunks of flesh that are designed to eat bullets... you dodge their attacks and get up close to return fire The only downside of the Flood is that the actual _levels_ they appear in suffer from chronic issues. The Library for one, then 343 guilty spark kinda sucks from a gameplay standpoint. Two Betrayals honestly I think is overrated because vehicle play and outdoor combat doesn't mix with flood very well. Even the Maw which I like has some shitty parts, like the hangar bay section is kinda tiring. So It's pretty cool to see them in a level where they don't normally appear (I mean the Maw is a recycled Pillar of Autumn anyway but still) You should add the Flood to the second mission of the game "Halo". Replacing some covenant waves with Flood. Imagine having to try to rescue marines from a Flood invasion. Would make the level a lot more intense imo. Just seeing a swarm coming in from the opposite side of an area and having to hold them off.
I agree that the CE flood are CRIMINALY underrated i daresay they are the best to fight out of all Halos. The Halo 2 ones feel weirdly spongy, hard to hit or without a purpose (looking at you, carrier flood). The Halo 3 ones feel like paper mache, annoying moreso than anything (again, looking at you, carrier form AND ranger form) or purposeless (i.e the stalker form). Same upside as Halo 2 with maybe tank flood as well, but again, it can be debated otherwise.
I like watching the flood infection progress in both marines and infected covies, watching the flood tissue expand and ingrows over the armor, distorting what was once a soldier into a gangrenous and withered version of them. These details are what make one appreciate modders.
I feel that in a more realistic situation the flood would be a terrorífic treat in the games, combat forms should be able to fire longer bursts and choose their guns before melee attacks
it's weird hearing the F word in halo. i never understood why bungie limited curse words and mostly the F bomb if all their games are rated M and with the flood being gory and all.
The furthest they ever took it was "bullshit" in ODST and I think you have to have IWHBYD active. Dare was the character that says it. Overall I just think it was just Bungie's style bc at this time games like DOOM, Duke Nukem, etc. had quite a bit of swearing.
I dunno, despite the gore it seems like the perfect game for anyone to play, even kids. I don't need a bunch of annoying characters yelling "fuck" and "shit" for no reason.
What's even creepier is when you see the shrouded, hobbling figure that looks like a marine, (but is clearly flood) its motion tracker signature shows up yellow as an ally. I think this was done in the 343 Guilty Spark level where you saw similar instances. A nice nod to that method of suspense horror which was used in the original.
I was 7 when I first played halo 1, and I would never have played it if it was like this lmao I never beat two betrayals until 2 years later when I finally got the guts to replay halo and beat it!
I completed the Library on Halo CE yesterday for the millionth time. The flood doesn't scare me anymore. But 2:35 and 9:14 did. Also I imagine seeing something like 1:40 IRL would scare the shit out of me. Amazing mod
0:38 that's terryfing, i just think about in amber clad's fate in Halo 2... The frigate being assaulted by the flood, you are a marine trying to escape through that doors, just hoping that you don't face against them at the corner 😢😰 hearing shoots all around, your teammates being consumed, fk that's wild.
Not really related to these mods but it would be insane if there was still hidden flood easter eggs in halo ce before you actually found them. I know it wouldn't really make sense time wise for when the flood were released but it would of still been really cool to see some very hidden easter eggs in earlier missions before the actual flood mission. Even on the flood mission it's self the thing that still sticks out to me from when I was a kid playing it for the first time was seeing flood jumping around the map outside before we entered the structure having no idea what it was it really was a perfect mission
These graphics look a lot more appealing than "realistic" graphics like Halo 4 to Halo Infinite. Those games look cool too, but this game has it's own charm.
Cool mod, but the original is still better. Because you dont get to see the flood till the halfway point of the game. At which point you think the covenant are the biggest threat. Thst is until you come across the flood - something even the covenant fear.

Lol 0:38 _random cacophony_ "what the hell "
Those fuckin screams to make you aware of their presence freaks me the fuck out in a primal sort of way
I like watching the flood infection progress in both marines and infected covies, watching the flood tissue expand and ingrows over the armor, distorting what was once a soldier into a gangrenous and withered version of them. These details are what make one appreciate modders.
Unforseen Threat is one of my favorite mods, and maybe my favorite Flood centered mod.
Jesus, the way the comms was just filled with screams and panic was crazy....
5:19 those people just standing there are horrifying
Hearing the marine say “Move it back to the airlock!” And not hearing his scream as he’s blown against the wall by a plasma grenade was really weird.
Halo The Mona Lisa
Halo.exe be like.
Love how creepy it is, great job.
I feel that in a more realistic situation the flood would be a terrorífic treat in the games, combat forms should be able to fire longer bursts and choose their guns before melee attacks
i must say this is the first legit time im scared of the flood 😰😨
Someone really needs to make an adaptation of the Mona Lisa and Infinite Seccor in Halo CE.
it's weird hearing the F word in halo. i never understood why bungie limited curse words and mostly the F bomb if all their games are rated M and with the flood being gory and all.
I liked this choise, don't like rude language in games.
I don't need a bunch of annoying characters yelling "fuck" and "shit" for no reason.
it was like dead space
El gravemind viajo al pasado con tecnologia precursora y ahora esta reescribiendo la historia
I was terrified of those onions when i was a kid lmao
What's even creepier is when you see the shrouded, hobbling figure that looks like a marine, (but is clearly flood) its motion tracker signature shows up yellow as an ally. I think this was done in the 343 Guilty Spark level where you saw similar instances. A nice nod to that method of suspense horror which was used in the original.
Dead space styled halo, nice
This is literally the halo tv series as it is
DON'T USE PLASMA GRENADE ON THE FLOOD THEY WILL KAMIKAZE THAT GRENADE BACK AT YOU
NO CHIBS! Come back! We need you!
Linda would probably get her body thawed from cryo and infected in this timeline.
I was 7 when I first played halo 1, and I would never have played it if it was like this lmao I never beat two betrayals until 2 years later when I finally got the guts to replay halo and beat it!
If this is what came out when I played as a kid I’d shit myself and have nightmares for weeks
We need a Halo Flood game with Heavy Metal music and let Emile be the main character.
If this was the first level I'd have been scared shitless as a kid
That being said... What mod is this? I want it.
I completed the Library on Halo CE yesterday for the millionth time. The flood doesn't scare me anymore. But 2:35 and 9:14 did. Also I imagine seeing something like 1:40 IRL would scare the shit out of me. Amazing mod
I'd wish this was a playable mod for The Master Chief Collection. This is very well made. ❤
Should have been a mod for infestation where flood are incorporated in each mission
I’m not going to lie, but this is probably one of the better mods I’ve seen for halo ce.
Fair enough. The redesigned sound effects and blood traces all over the place make it so goddamn horrifying
I was expecting The Maw but this so much cooler.
The paramount team must've seen this video and that's why the flood are released at ONI HQ instea of Halo in the show.
Not watching a 13 min video, some of us have no lives 😂
Not really related to these mods but it would be insane if there was still hidden flood easter eggs in halo ce before you actually found them. I know it wouldn't really make sense time wise for when the flood were released but it would of still been really cool to see some very hidden easter eggs in earlier missions before the actual flood mission. Even on the flood mission it's self the thing that still sticks out to me from when I was a kid playing it for the first time was seeing flood jumping around the map outside before we entered the structure having no idea what it was it really was a perfect mission
Would the Terminals count tho?
Or do u mean like seeing traces of The Flood?
1:44 “Let’s get it on”
Are you sure about that?
This should have been a bonus mission or secret mission for beating the game on a certain difficulty like heroic or legendary
Welcome to super legendary mode!
8:31 flamethrower nestled in the corner
Ngl the invisible flood is so cool
If the flood were in the first level then i would just go and stick to captain keys and never complete the mission.
Hard to watch with you constantly friendly firing your own marines lol
And wasting grenades on spores.. lol L gameplay
These graphics look a lot more appealing than "realistic" graphics like Halo 4 to Halo Infinite. Those games look cool too, but this game has it's own charm.
If this happened, it would’ve played out much differently
When you play like a 🍋
I loved the build-up. Unfortunately, it just felt the "The Maw" after that.
This mod is so beautiful :').
Welcome to hitscan hell
Wow the scripting on this is awesome. Amazing job to the creator.
The pillar of 343 guilty spark
WHAT MOD IS THIS I NEED THIS ASAP
Cool mod, but the original is still better. Because you dont get to see the flood till the halfway point of the game. At which point you think the covenant are the biggest threat. Thst is until you come across the flood - something even the covenant fear.
