🌿 Ready to grow your own lemon tree at home? In this step-by-step video, we'll guide you through the fascinating process of air layering using a surprising yet effective material - toilet paper! 🍋✨
Step 1: Select a Mature Lemon Branch
Choose a healthy, vigorous branch. It should be at least 1 inch in diameter. Using a sharp knife, carefully remove a 1 to 2- inch section of bark from the selected lemon branch. Make sure to remove the bark completely, exposing the cambium layer underneath.
Step 2: Prepare Turmeric powder
Apply turmeric powder the cut area. Turmeric powder has antifungal and antibacterial properties. Turmeric powder is used as a natural rooting hormone.
Step 3: Toilet paper
Wrap toilet paper around the cut area. making sure the exposed area is covered. Wet the tissue paper thoroughly with water.
Step 4: Cover
Cover the toilet paper with a plastic bag. This helps to keep the
moisture in and create a humid environment. Secure the plastic bag at both ends with zip-ties. Give water once a week. If the temperature is high, water twice a week.
Step 5: Monitor Root Development
Carefully check for root development within the toilet paper. Once the roots are established, Cut the lemon branch, using a sharp and sterilized cutter. Prepare a pot with well-draining soil. Then plant the branch in pot. Give water well. Place the lemon plant in a bright spot with indirect sunlight. Water regularly to maintain soil moisture and fertilize as needed. With proper care, your new lemon tree will grow and eventually produce its own delicious lemons.
