Hello,,,,, friend
There’s absolutely no point in wasting a banana to do this and it will work 100 times betters just using soil
Exactly. Nowadays people are doing anything for the sake of fetching views.
How so? The banana definitely offers nutrients that were not present beforehand.
The whole point of the video is to show how it helps the plant… you clearly don’t understand what this person is demonstrating. But thank you for your super valuable input ya jabroni😂
@@scoobyzaza I’ll try to explain in a way that simple minded people like yourself can understand (since you are rude you get paid with the same currency) the nutrients are definitely not bioavailable (not in a form that the plant can absorb), the banana doesn’t do absolutely anything unless you are abele to extract the nutrients and transform it in a way that could be absorbed by the plant. I’ve been growing food for about 20 years and worked close with the best people in the field like Charles dowding just to mention one. You clearly don’t understand how nature works but thanks for your valuable input with zero background and knowledge on the matter, minchione 😂
@@scoobyzaza How is this any different from just planting clones of a plant into the soil?
@@scoobyzazabecause the soil has those same nutrients, if you knew anything you'd know that soil contains the nutrients that plants use in conjunction with a bit of sun/water. So by using the banana the only thing they're doing is tricking the growth nodes into believing they're underground and launching roots. That's why wasting a banana is stupid when you can just get a clump of soil, gladwrap it securely to the same spot and have better, bigger roots. It's a simple cloning method and your comment has revealed how much of a clown you are
I would have liked to see a control group, as in a second rose cut the same way but put in soil without a banana. Then compared them side by side after 25 days to see the difference. Thanks for the cool vid 🍻
This is a fantastic method of cloning!! I really love that you used a banana to help root growth, it's so practical as it encourages rooting and also provides nutrient support. The idea of putting a cup around the site is especially efficient, since when you clip it from the mother plant it is all potted up. I studied botany and ag and we did some air layering which is similar to this but the details in your method make it so much better. Thank you so much for this awesome video!!
Yeah, I’m not a botanist, but that was a pretty neat video. That’s what I assumed they were doing from the beginning, I’m glad I wasn’t totally wrong 😂
I've seen other plants (mainly vines) where you root it by wrapping the spot you want roots in a wet rag or burying it in the dirt while its still attached to the main plant. I never thought of doing this with roses.
beep boop? :3

I use banana skins and eggshells around the base of the plants! Works pretty good on my English roses! Greetings from Thailand.
The skins will rob nitrates from the earth as they decompose
@@Stevenkjy - "as they decompose"... and go back into the Earth... win/win.
Roasting the shells over coals and then adding them to the right ratio of vinegar will make a water soluble calcium that works fast
The root sticking out above where you left the banana. In practice, the banana rotted the stem of the rose bush and the roots came out above because of the earth. For me, the banana did not influence rooting at all
You. Are correct. The banana had nothing to do with the rooting. She could have just cut the stem off and stuck it in water and it would root.
Yeah it's the bacteria 🦠

Why waste bananas, if you can eat them? 😖
Que interesante. 😮

Whats the real point of doing this?? I dont see a reason to do anything like this at all.
They should have waited another month.
I transplanted a Lorapetalum bush, I purchased from store.
I had bananas that were “too ripe” to eat.
I put them in with the plant when transplanted as part of a bit of compost.
I have to cut it back almost every year.
It gets so huge!
If I had known, I would’ve planted it in an area with greater space to spread.
But I love watching how you did this with the rose!

The main problem with this method is zip ties can't be reused and seem to end up in the soil. You can achieve the same thing with sacking and string or old clothing (legs of jeans work well it is already a tube). If the banana only need to be held while the soil is put in place you might be able to tie it on with long leaves or grass (vines would be good but they will probably grow! I would try honeysuckle)
Agreeed....and zip ties are not biodegradable, so create plastic waste.... twine or fabric would be better.
Thank you, I saw them use three zip ties for just the banana smh
Zip ties can be reused. Insert a small bladed screwdriver into the block at the end of the tie and disengage the tongue with the ribs on and pull the tie back through the block.
I have never seen this process before. Very cool. Thanks!
Hermoso trabajo 💚 , gracias.

Hello,, friend
Absolutely a great idea. My spouse and brother, in different locations of country tried this and were successful!
Bananas are a great fertilizer, well known to provide potassium. (Side note: Ladies, this helps us with bloating and cramps). I use banana peels in soil or make fertilizer tea for the garden. From what I'm seeing in this video, it's not a waste if you have banana trees in abundance and depending on the region you live, you use all the resources you can to grow certain plants.
How do you make fertilizer tea?
@@mirandablu a
Yes, the idea is a logic after this video. But everybody must know also, that normally the banana skin is contaminated with rests of the pestizid treatments!!
Beatiful tea hours ! 🍀
@@mirandablu I usually cut or rip the peel into tiny pieces into a jar/bowl/plastic bottle then pour boiling water over it and get it sit overnight or more. Then spray or sprinkle the tea on leaves and soil. Some people use different methods, and not just banana... so you can find what works for you.

Hello friend
Genius❤ Thank you!
Thank you for this tip. It is mMaybe an easier way than the one you had showed us a long time ago, which I would prefer, as it is gentler with the "mother" plant. Do you remember? The "babies" were smaller and attached to the mother with a soft plastic bag. But it seems like whatever one does, using banana will give success.
Hi!
I really like your videos, they are so nice and relaxing🤗🥰
Have you ever tried using splitted electrical wires for fixation? You may save some money and reduce plastic waste😉
Old electrical wires have three strings of copper in them, each of them isolated. I use the same wires to keep plants in place or shape, I've been using them for about 17 years now. Also, loops or spirals can be easily done with them, offering fixation with minimal pressure for delicate branches.

What about all those plastic zipties. Would twine be a better solution for an organic garden?
@@katharinabecker752
it may not be organic, but i'd recommend old electrical wires. Splitted in single copper strains, with their own isolation still on them. These wires can be bend hundreds of times befor breaking🤓
They stay flexible. The only "issue" I came across was that the isolation became a little pale, due to daily exposition to sunlight.
Mine are still working perfectly, after 10+ years of regular use.

I suspect that it’s aspirin which encourages roots to grow. It’s annoying that the video neglects to explain this to the viewers, isn’t it? 🤷♀️
Might I suggest doing the final trim into clone shape/size, while still attached to the main stock.. you get the added benefit of quick healing effects from the mother instead of relying on the smaller root system while it's still less established, to carry out the healing process..anyway piggy backing the mother plant while rooting is an awesome way to ensure you don't lose any clones during the rooting phase, if that's a problem you have.

Hello,,,,,,,, friend

Onde estava a banana apodreceu, e a britação saiu logo acima. 🤠🤠🤠

Hello,,,,,,,, friend
That is really clever. Do you think it would work for taking cuttings from Apple Trees since they are related?
It is just air layering so yes it would work. The usefulness is very limited. With both apples and roses, most of the time they use a 'wild stock' from seed for the roots, and graft on the top vegetative part to guarantee the fruit quality or in roses colors. A lot of times the root strength and disease resistant gets bred out trying to get the desired results.
