I had heard the original once when it came out (a month or so ago, was it?), and didn't think much of it then; in a way I can't put into words right now, it was only this version that gave me a sense of what a great song it is (and, of course, as always, a version which can stand it own, no matter the quality of the song (it helps, though)).
