This video was filmed in an overlapping way with the previous video last month about the inverter, in case it seems confusing.

Thanks for this video Rinoa! I have decided my setup will not use commercial batteries at all, but will use the 32700 LiFePO4 with screws instead, no need to weld. Expensive but practical. I don't have any sponsors, LOL. I even found some blueprints to assembly a DIY sinusoidal wave inverter, but that is more advanced. Once I get a good battery according to my needs to start with that will be the next step. I thought that it was going to be necessary a huge rack to start an A/C (very needed in my country) but I see it doesn't. Your videos are inspiring.

I would recommend a 24V system and a Victron Smart Shunt to monitor the system. Currently running a 840Wp / 24V / 280Ah DIY Batterie Setup in north Germany. Its running our deep freezer and our TV setup almost 24/7 all year long. Depending on the weather we need to disconnect the TV setup but the freezer is hooked up 24/7
In my case I also monitor everything with a software called Solaranzeige. Its Open source and runs on a Raspberry Pi. It gets me and display Data from my MPPT solar charger, the BMS of my Batterie and the data of my Victron Smart Shunt. I can access the data even over the Internet.

The letters you see on the readout of that power meter might be it switching to hexadecimal so it can show higher numbers with only 2 digits. For instance A3 could mean 103 or B2 could mean 112, if that was how it was programmed. The unit I have is slightly different but it will do this so it will max out at 159.99Ah and then starts over the count.

That A/C unit seems pretty quiet, my window units are noisy, no quiet setting and there doesn't seem to be much difference between hi-med-low fan speeds. How many BTU's is that one and how many sq. ft. is it cooling? I was always told never to oversize them since they will just cycle on and off and not remove humidity properly?

This is 8,000btu and its cooling about 650 square feet. The nice thing about this is it runs the compressor at a lower speed when it isnt running as hard. So no on/off like older ones

It would be more efficient to set the thermostat down to 66 and let it run an cool the apartment down quickly than let it run all day. The compressor is only going to draw what it draws cooling to 78 from 98 and constantly cycling. Yall are so used to being way above 70 cooling it off a lot once a day then letting it barely cruise over night

No this inverter unit doesnt cycle much, it can slow down the compressor. It only takes 20 watts when the compressor is off so leaving it running is fine. Also we need the airflow

I like the inverter ac units, the large ones are good, for large rooms, the small ones for small rooms, but air is not very conductive so it will not easily cool through halls and turns.
The best option in my opinion is multiple inverter 5000 btu units. 5000 btu can usually cool any single room.
The ones that ramp down and maintain temperature are most efficient.
They work more efficinetly when the units are oversized for the cooling area, and they are able to ramp down to lowest rpm lowest wattage, but at that point they are working at maximum coefficient of performance. Even though its not the full 5000 btu, it is more value for watts vs cooling effect.
Plus they are smaller and easier to handle, and fit in smaller windows, This is key because lugging 80-100 lb units is a 2 man job and it takes extra brackets and time and adds stress to the windows and they do sometimes fall or bust a window frame.
If you find Inverter 5000btu units for a good price, i think they are about 200 on sale, that could cool an entire home, a big home with 2-3 units, which adding up is only 600.
Then, if one breaks, its not a big deal.
And if one can be shut off, it adds to the savings.
Maximum cop for these units are about 6 when running at lowest speed.
    Which is good!

how many volts is fully charged 14.4. or 13.4 or 13.6 ?

    • @RinoaL
      @RinoaL  2 місяці тому +1

if you take it off the charger and it sits at around 13.6v the thats charged. Can be good to charge to 14.5v or so just to make sure the voltage flows into the battery consistently

for lifepo4? 14.2v float charge and 13.6v rest charge I suppose

You can power your apm meter independently to get a more stable test. It has a port on the side.

Yes I do that with those meters. A 9 volt battery will do. Useful if the main battery is run down to the point where it switches off. Prevents the totals being lost.

That’s amazing how well the ac does on battery power.
