Amazing work! Question. Can I cut a 36x72 porcelain tile with circular saw (diamond blade) without water? Also, can I not have any gaps in the tiles? It’s for a fireplace surround so it’s 3 large pieces (top piece and 2 side pieces).
Hello, I don't understand how you determined "too big gaps on ceiling". A normal gap between the large format tile panel and the ceiling is about 3/16" which serves the two purposes: it minimizes the tension to the panel and allows to avoid hitting the ceiling when the panel is installed. Then the gap is finished with a flexible and paintable sealant which blends in with the ceiling. The walls in this particular application consisted of 3 porcelain panels, two of which were cut vertically to allow to bring the panels through a tight staircase and corridor.
Amazing work! the tile industry has really jumped up to it's new level with these huge tile panels.
