I think I found booktube and this channel maybe 2.5 years ago. And it makes me so happy to follow this channel as my primary booktube channel knowing that you are not only standing for justice but have also made changes and taken stances that matter in the real world and not just being done with putting up a post. So proud of you and the growth you have shown.
Thank you for continuing to show your allyship. You've been one of my favorite booktubers for a while now and it honestly warms my heart to see people using their influence to shed light on important topics even if it risks you losing some viewership. I just want you to know that it really means a lot
So many intresting books!Recomanding The Last Namsara,an amazing gripping fantasy about a chosen one, dragons, amazing world and an antiheroine dragon slayer...
@@onlyireneadler Viper by Bex Hogan (pirates only) and To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo (sirens rather than mermaids) are both good as well. You'll have to let me know if either of those strike your fancy 😊
YEEEESSSS ! You've bought "The Liveship Traders Trilogy" : it makes me so happy ! I've read it and it is my favorite fantasy serie of all time. I wish more people knew about Robin Hobb's novels, they are such a good way (in my humble opinion) to discover adult fantasy. Hope you'll love it as much as I do
There is a dragon anthology coming out in July called The Book of Dragons with stories from R.F. Kuang, Garth Nix, Scott Lynch and more! Its supposed to be fantasy, sci fi, and folklore type of stories.
While there’s some inconsistency throughout the run, overall Dresden Files gets better as it goes. I’m almost done with ARC of Peace Talks and then I’m jumping into Battle Ground - you can definitely tell how much Butcher has grown as an author. Peace Talks is hands down the best written out of the whole series. I wasn’t sure if anything could be worth trudging through some of the cringey and more male-gaze-y/problematic moments, but the series really grows and turns into something special. Didn’t love every moment, but I can say it was definitely worth it!
If you want pirates and dragons then the Liveship Traders series is going to be perfect! Also, don't worry about being spoilt for the Assassin's trilogy as there's no obvious crossover other than being in the same world. (Although the Liveship Trader characters do turn up in the next trilogy - the Tawny Man trilogy - which is back with some of the original Assassin's trilogy characters.)
Sameee, some of my favourite mermaid books are: - in other lands - into the drowning deep - of Poseidon / of Triton - and then I turned into a mermaid / don't tell him I'm a mermaid - all the stars and teeth - the mermaid, the witch, and the sea - to kill a kingdom - the siren - sea witch - a song below water Haha on my tbr are: - the surface breaks - the gloaming - ice massacre - the merman and the barbarian pirate - coral - sea witch rising I've also read the deep and songs from the deep & I thought that both were okay, alright.
Awesome book haul and thank you so much for the resources to support indie bookshops! I recently purchased American Street too as well as Pride and Black Enough (which I’m currently reading) all by Ibi Zoboi because she’s an author I’ve been super excited to read!💙
If you haven't read Eragon by Christopher Paolini yet, you can try that out for the dragon centered story. The series is called Inheritance Cycle which basically follows the main character which is Eragon and his dragon. It has a chosen one trope that I think you might like.
My favorite dragon fantasy and favorite series of books is the dragonriders of pern. It has problematic bits but the way dragons are shown in pern is amazing.
A book I HIGHLY recommend in the realm of understanding racism is Black like me. It’s a book I read in middle school and it made such an impact on me and planning on re reading soon.
Ooh YAY I'm so happy you're picking up Grave Peril! I had the same thoughts as you, I expected it to pick up in book 3 and it opens with an author's note promising that fact and it definitely delivers. I hope you love it like I did. :D Dresden Files is quickly becoming a new fave series of mine!
How do you feel about space pirates (sci-fi pirates)? Because the Ketty Jay chronicles by Chris Wooding are fantastic if you're into that kind of thing. The first one is called Retribution Falls.
I’m almost done with the audiobook for American Street and I’ve been really enjoying it! And I don’t usually like fiction on audio, the narrator is excellent.
Sounds like you have some amazing reading material to get through!! My most recent purchases were mostly school related but I did sneak in a Tess Dare book since you think so highly of them and I want to try it out hehe.
Upon a burning throne is supposedly based on the Mahabharata, it's not a folk tale, it's an Indian way of life. As is the Ramayana. Checked out the reviews for this book after seeing it here and most Indian readers have been pretty disappointed by it. Would like to see what you make of it. And the Mahabharata and Ramayana maybe read in comic book form by Amar chitra Katha...😊
ahhh!! this was such an incredible haul! totally did not know a song of wraiths and ruin has a hate to love romance in it!! its been on my radar, but now im a lot more inclined to pick it up!!🤩
I purchased Bone Ships hoping for the great orate/dragon aspect as well. Fingers crossed. I can’t wait to continue the King fountain series. The first was so great.
Liveship is pretty separate from the trilogy you're in now, I wouldn't worry about running into spoilers. I think you're going to love it, I'm excited to hear your thoughts!!
When you said that you want to loves pirates and dragon i.e they have to be portrayed poignantly it's the same with me i can't love pirates or dragon maybe I didn't find a wright book yet this robyn hobb trilogy works for me 🤞🤞
I love you’re videos! 🥰 I am not someone who reads fantasy, at all! But watching you makes me want to start! I am wondering what would be the best fantasy book to start off with for someone never reading the genre before! X
Hey i don't know if you'll see this but just want to say i lovvvvee your vids btw I'm writing my own book it's Sci-Fi right now I'm in the middle of the shadow hunters and the infernal devices
Every time there is a new video by Reagan I know it is a good day 😊 Have you ever ready books from the Skullduggery Pleasant series or books from Jonathan Stroud? I liked them a lot and wonder what you think of them 😃
The Person You Mean to Be by Dolly Chugh is a great book about race and bias and is pretty actionable. Also really interesting is Harvard's Project Implicit. You can do a series of tests that measure your subconscious biases.
So glad you are continuing to talk about the Black Lives Matter movement in your videos and make an effort to amplify Black voices, especially since it’s been evident which white booktubers have not! Just wanted to say it makes a difference and keeps me still wanting to support and be subscribed to you!
i think i spend more hours seeing books recommendations videos than actually reading

If you want pirates and dragons well executed, you're in for a treat with the liveship traders 😁
Liveship Trader’s is one of my favorites bu Robin Hobb, and it does spoil Farseer at all. ❤️

Haul❤❤❤. Sadly as I'm in containment zone, Amazon doesn't deliver at present. So here I'm, to watch Regan's haul and to be happy

The Reader by Traci Chee incorporates pirates, and it seems like something you'd like. I recommend it!

Be ready for AMAZING pirates AND dragons with The Liveship Traders girl!!!
The ultimate pirate series is the Inda series by Sherwood Smith - could not recommend more, especially if you like a (military) school setting 🤗
Thanks a lot ! :)

Yes!! You have to stick with the Dresden Files it gets soooo good!! It's my all time favorite series❤️
I absolutely loved A Song Below Water. It took me a bit to get into as I didn't know of the siren myth, but apart from that, loved it.
