For those who are wondering, this is a midi performance by Warren Trachtman, Trachtman had a ragtime midi website which unfortunately went defunct. Trachtman died in 2017 and the site ran for another year before web hosting costs weren't met and the site has since become a bitcoin slot machine service. This was one of the midi files that he posted. Warren said that he had no control over fine dynamics and that he wasn't a very good pianist. I personally think this is a pretty decent performance but it's certainly not perfect. I have a midi, my email is on my about page, if anyone wants a copy send me a message ;)
Good interpretation - much better and more phrasing than most. I love Joplin's music. It's a bit like Abba, in as much it seems superficially cheerful, but is actually quite melancholic.

Scott Joplin did say his rags were played too fast.
Just because he said don't play it fast if you aren't good at keeping the syncopation doesn't mean he said play it slower than moonlight sonata
He played his own rags at 72-100bpm which is a decent marching pace. So he didn’t play slow in his more youthful years.
My grand grand grandpa danced this song drunk in a Sallon.
He told me
