Hey all! I forgot to mention it in the video but I feel it's important to mention that, like all of my videos, this video is *strictly* about Casual and Pub TF2. I wanted to do a funny bit at the beginning mentioning it but it completely slipped my mind. I realize that weapons like the Bazaar Bargain and Vita-Saw have very different reputations in Competitive than they do in Casual, so I wanna stress that this video is *purely* about Casual. Either way, I hope you enjoy!
question, (sorry to post it here rather then make a real comment) but how do you spot bots with your killfeed minimized to not include player names? just interested as i thought that gibus sniper on the cart hardscoped at 1:24 looked like a bot lol. love your videos!
Calling the Bazaar Bargain capitalism is a crazy but scarily accurate revelation.
'Eat the rich'
Mmmmm (eats sniper rifle)
and just like capitalism people dont benefit from it talk shit to you if you call out the unfairness of it
Even its name is related to money 😆
No, it's not, but it's funny

Fun fact about the Eyelander, it’s one of the few things giving us a short glimpse at the timeline of the TF2 story, as it appears in the Loose cannon comic in Blutarch’s office, then being donated by Blutarch for the Poopy Joe launch and after the fallout of said launch its given to Demoman as an incentive to fight the the BLU Solider (Who got Poopy Joes Backpack, Bugle and Pick axe in the war update.)
Howdy! (:
@@jaredhebert942Im Flowey
Every one of these classes has a reason to collect heads
Demoman - The eyelander demands it
Soldier - Collects heads in his meet the team video
Medic - he has a severed spy head, he would steal organs
Sniper - He has a line where he's gonna make a teeth necklace out of someones corpse
first time I used the eyelander during causal I got a 16 kill streak and got airblasted off a cliff by an ubered pyro
Cant believe my tf2 youtuber gave his opinions on demoknight
This is probably a meme I'm not privy to but this comment still made me chuckle
demoknight tf2
@@TealOpal Just a joke on demoknight players being ravenous about their "10th class"
that’s a joke lads
The issue with sentry guns isn't really one you can blame on a specific player (unless he's really sucking), but rather role fulfillment on the entire team's part. If the team is lacking a stock Demoman, it is not a Demoknight's specific responsibility to swap to that role. There are 11 other players on the team who can fill that role, and most of those players can afford to switch class too (unless they're Medic or something)
Since the Demoknight is acting as a different role (close range defender of teammates, tank, pick class, distractor), it may make more sense for someone else on the team to run stickybomb Demo. A Demoknight pairs well with a stock Demo because stock Demo is typically weak in close quarters, and the Demoknight can protect him.
I'm only ever forced to swap off the Boots when there are like... 3 or more sentry guns preventing my team from succeeding, and it'll typically be because the rest of my team didn't swap classes either. In other words, the entire team would need to be lacking important classes like Soldiers and Medics.
Absolutely fair. I didn't mean any shade or disrespect to you personally with any of my commentary. The "one Solarlight video" line was more about people who immediately try and replicate what you do after watching one or two of your videos without any of the experience or mechanical nuance to actually pull it off as well. Even then, it's not my place to gatekeep or criticize people for trying out new strategies or playstyles, so I probably could have approached that whole section differently. Either way, I appreciate the insightful and constructive comment!
@@TealOpal Yeah, there are a lot of noob Demoknights running around. If you're a Soldier main for example, and you're just playing Demoknight as a one off thing, switching back to what you're more experienced with definitely makes a lot of sense if your team is really struggling.
On the other hand, I've seen some very good Demoknight players who aren't me. It generally makes sense for them to stay as what they're best at, unless the enemy team's 6 sentry guns really need your whole team to go Loch-n-Load.
Precisely. Coming back to the game after 3 years, in the past week or so I’ve already seen a couple situations where enemy players have proved essentially all your points. I was defending upward last after I joined with 7 minutes left. The enemy team had a solid hold on the basement thanks to a Eyelander knight, a stock Demo and a Medic. They did great and covered for eachother very well. The stock demo was lobbing stickies up to our nest when he could, but also covered for the knight at range so he could charge in and get an important pick. Most of the time the knight stayed close to tank and to distract me or my team if we got too close to the stock demo and the med all while some enemies complained they had a Demoknight on their team. All in all it was a fun game even though I lost during overtime and it definitely served as a reminder for me (and hopefully others reading this comment who think demoknight is useless in some situations ) to maybe trust the one Demoknight on the team who won’t switch.
I was curious about the Chargin’ Targe, and it turns out that with the Booties and max head Eyelander, your explosive resistance is an effective 305.5, meaning you can tank 1 (one) crit pipe
24:37 Buffing the buff banner by giving it "extra reserve ammo on wearer" stat would kill 3 birds(you heard me, 3) with one stone. Give buff banner needed passive buff and would buff both air strike and beggars bazooka who chew through ammo
0:59 Roxas Kingdom Hearts jumpscare.
Tf2 weapons that get you head
“If I strike you down, I will become stronger than you could ever possibly imagine”
-obi wan in an alternate dimension where he had the eyelander instead of a lightsaber.
With the airstrike, you can do more damage by starting to shoot as you fall rather than the max high of your jump so you can do crazy damage as the rockets fall with you and do normal airstrike damage
I'd really like to see a Demonknight Sword that can store heads that give you no passive bonuses, but instead you can consume these heads to increase your charge distance by a small bit. No clue how it would be balanced, but its something i'd like to see someone give a go
as a person who never plays demo, that legit sounds fun
So basically Eyelander + Claidheamh Mor?
You can spend 1 head to charge longer, stacks with claidheamh mor, or you can spend 3 heads to use a guaranteed critical strike, but you will have to deal with not using your 1 or 2 heads with an underwhelming cavalry saber.
No buffs granted, just a special animation that the enemy team can see for pure demoralization and intimidation of the demo eating their heads
The Air Strike + Base Jumper is good, but you don’t use it as a carpet bombing tool. I use it much closer to my targets to extent the amount of time I have in range to fire off my full clip of rockets. With the base jumper, I pretty much lean fully into the dive bombing Strat and fly in sniffing distance of the enemy medic combo, deploying the parachute, and killing everyone before they know what’s going on. It becomes easier to aim, more reliable clip dump, and can get in closer for more reliable dives without worrying about the previously mentioned clip dump time. More time at closer distances means more kills more accurately
so no head?
I feel like the Vita-Saw should instead use the organs you collect from enemies & givin’ ‘em to teammates to boost their max health, instead of rewarding you for dying. It would be a good competitor to the Übersaw if that were the case.
That's interesting. What's funny is I too commented about a simillar idea on max health.
17:58 something snapped inside me
7:30 i feel personally attacked by this, lmao. I bought a strange half-zatoichi and REFUSE to switch classes unless its really dire
For weapons that kill slower on tr walkway I'd recommend turning down the spawning speed or movement speed as it feels really awkward when the enemies walk past you because you physically can't kill them fast enough.
Dude I just got a huge hit of old memories when I saw that Mr widemouth image.
I juet got bamboozled by that Widemouth mention. Glad i aint the only one that remembers that
One of my favorite ways to play hybrid knight is to defend the point, engi nest or sniper nest and wait for any unlucky spy or scout trying to flank. I have very consistently get enough heads and later go on a rampage.
The scariest thing about the Eyelander is surprisingly not Demoknight, it's getting 4 heads, swapping the shield for a sticky launcher, and then terrorizing the server as a faster and tankier demo who just refuses to die.
The Airstrike I find really fun in MVM. Upgrading clip size and ammo capability and equip the Base Jumper is really fun to carpet bomb the robots as they move in a straight line.
Is a bitch to reload tho
I understood the Mr. Widemouth reference.
I don't know what this means but 9.5 minutes into the video I felt like 20 minutes had gone by and checked how much was left on the video
Understand sire
the airstrike does *kinda* reload faster, seeing as the first rocket is the slowest to reload and it reloads its first rocket less often.
I have a probably bad idea for the vita-saw, which is that if you don’t have the Uber your organs provide you when you die, you either gain half of the Uber that would be provided if you had it, or it would be how it currently works, whatever is higher. This probably needs an example, if you have 4 organs and die with less than 30% charge, you get 30% on respawn, if you have 3 organs and less than 27 or 28 percent you get that etc. (I don’t know if it would round up or down, I think TF2 always rounds down, but hopefully that 1% difference is not a huge deal).
The biggest problem with the air strike for me isn't damage falloff since it's based on your distance from the target rather than travel time, so if you're bombing people as an approach you can get pretty solid damage. My problem is the knockback. A well placed rocket often leads to popping your target away from the rest of your shots and screws you over.
While I appreciate the gunboats with the Airstrike, my favorite secondary has to be the Buff Banner. The snow ball can take a while to build but having a barrage of mini crits to rain down on the enemy team is amazing. Especially in a game mode that has them bunched together. It may not happen often but clearing an overtime pub push off the cart while under a banner releases a wave a dopamine that hits so good.
Three things I hate in TF2:
3. Sniper not having a visible beam from his rifle.
2. Bots
1. THE FUCKING EYELANDER.
2:10 WoooooOOOOOooooaaaaahhhooooohoooohaoooooo
Love that song
What you said about the Bazaar Bargain being fine in the hands of average casual snipers who aren’t cracked, reminds me of when I’d play Meta Knight in Brawl. I’ve never been good at air juggling in Smash, so my Meta Knight is just fine, decent at the game without being the infamous destroyer of matches Brawl MK is known to be.
Nah, I’m a Sonic main in Brawl. Much more likely to own you as the blue blur than the broken character.
I am attempting to Awaken my mind, sir!
Heads up!
Look, I had to. I refuse to apologize.

New demoknight sword idea: the cave-maker. The cave-maker, or cave, is like a mix between the skull cutter and homewrecker. It is a giant spiked ball in the end of a stick, and it is primarily to kill engineers and roamer soldiers. Its primary stat change from the other swords is that it is SLOW. It hits slow, you move slow, but you die slower. It has a move speed penalty, charge distance and mobility nerf, a swing speed decrease, and a weird “weight” o increase, making fall faster and take more fall damage. But in return, it gets a damage buff, and an extra buff to building damage. It also has the unique effect that it has a MASSIVE knock back increase. And finally, it gets a knock back increase for each building you destroy. And finally, it has a knock back taken reduction. All of this means that if you get close to a sentry nest, it is gone. It also can get some funny environmental kills, but the knock back is mostly to send enemies that you DON’T kill away from you, and send engineers that might heal building away so that they can’t. Overall, a niche but helpful “sword” that would be good in Hightower, upward, and against a Texas infestation.
I just got the eyelander. Have yet to use it
For the Vita-saw, I unironically think that each hit should allow you to keep 50% of your built-up uber on death, up to a maximum of 200%
So basically, if you get 4 hits and die while at 45% uber, you come back to life with 90% uber.
To be viable, it needs to have a reason to be picked over the ubersaw, and I believe delayed gratification would be the way to go. Better reward for a melee hit, but significantly delayed.
Give me (your) head🙃
So, here we are.
We're the princes of the universe.
It's better to switch to explosives once you have 4 heads
I do honestly think they need to revert the BB back to removing a head on bodyshot, but also make it so a head is removed on miss instead of the old stat of all being removed if you miss. After 2 heads, it is a straight upgrade to stock. And I already have problems with the "infinite range in a close to medium range roster, takes literally less time than to blink to instakill 5 of the 9 classes" class. So making him be that but better with zero practical consequences is just not good design.
ive recently started pairing the airstrike with the buff banner. raining mini crits on the enemy team just makes the brain go brrrr
GOD DAM IT WHY IS THIS SO EXPENSIVE I WANT IT NOWWWW
(am talking about festive eylader)
i don’t want say it’s true because i’m grabbing at straws here but i think valve didn’t want to add a faster firing speed on the unlock because it would make soldiers bomb way more often, leading to make it do more damage which may make it unfair and/or unbalanced
someone correct me on this but i am pretty sure that the vita saw doesn't save 60% of your uber on 4 swings it instead saves 0.6 times your uber , which in case you have full uber is the same , but let's say you have 50% of your uber and you land 4 swings - in this situation you'll only save 30% of your uber i think
I thought i already saw this video some time ago
I’m the guy that got the Mr. Widemouth reference
there's another counter to demoknight, melee hitreg
also i found out that the Air Strike works wonders with the Buff Banner, the fact you can pelt the enemy team with 7 minicrit rockets is nothing but orgasmic
Vitasaw: Give say, 10 hp per hit, so you have a bit of a cushion so you can actually get a hit or 2 off before you inevitably die.
Man imagine Heavy having a minigun that started off terrible by better when getting kills. Though how about a melee for heavy instead? Say reworking the Warrior's Spirit for example.
+75 health on kill
+ On kill: take soul from enemy player, increasing melee damage by 5 damage, up to 6 souls maxed (an extra 30 damage bring it to 95, plus if used with the steak would go to 128 at maxed souls. Able to one shot light classes which would be fine considering he's the slowest class).
- Honorbound: love 50 if put away with killing
- No random crits (to prevent cheeky kill gains)
What do you think Opal? Too strong? At least it would make chaser heavy more fun and moderately balanced. Also I use the buff banner to deal with damage fall off
Guess he ran out of alternate team colors for the mercs in the thumbnail.
Killstreak weapons: ❌
Head collectors from Walmart:👍
Honestly the Bazaar Bargain would be "crushing" for a mediocre Sniper if quick-scoping wasn't the optimal way to play Sniper. Just do that for a little bit and you'll get the heads no sweat. If you cant succeed with the Bargain, you cant succeed with Sniper.
The vitasaw out of all the weapons discussed in this video was one I never understood why they changed it when it was already underutilized, and what they came up with is so awful. If they really wanted to utilize its harvesting idea like the little sisters, than like them following the Big Daddy, the Medic should've been harvesting uber saved from assisted kills. Maybe cap it at 40-50%. Each assist saves 5%. The Uber saved is reset when Uber is used.
Most of the reason as to why it was changed was due to the fact that it was way too powerful competitively. That's what I heard at least. It is insanely awful due to the fact that both of it's upsides and downsides were completely passive, and you didn't need to basically go on a suicide mission to get the über bonus on death.
You need to give hybrid knight another honest try. I recommend either the iron bomber splendid screen and half zatoichi, or the loose cannon tide turner and claymore.
8:06 if we're being honest is Demoknight EVER the optimal play if you aren't on Degroot Keep
There's an argument to be made about the added mobility and safety of bringing a shield, and if you want literally anything besides stock stats you may as well bring some flavor of sword since they're too chickenshit to let the ullapool caber have any fun unless you want to roll Pain Train (yes i lump the skullcutter in with the swords)
...but you should always have pills at minimum. pop a heavy in 3 hits, pop injured light enemies in one, yes stickies are better but at least there's an argument to go for the shield occasionally, somewhat
Air strike was meh at launch
It was more useful with the base jumper when it had the hidden stat when if you were on fire you became a hot air balloon because of damage ticks keeping you up lol.
60% of the time, it works 100% of the time
Ah you did bring up the bots at the end of the Bargain bit, fair. So the moment they figure out how to give the Bargain to the GSM's, we're all fucked.
I wonder what is that intro sound coming from, can't remember
It's from the JoJo fighting game by Capcom!
Imo you are using the airstrike and base jumper wrong*
Instead jumping vertically, you should jump towards the enemy, so you can hit youir shots more reliably.
The base jumper , instead of using it in the highest point, you should use it to negate fall damage or when you jump at someone, use it when you are close to them so it is even eaisier to hit them
Is it gay to give your freinds the sloppiest of toppy, Opal?
It may be and we're 100% here for it
Yes my king 🤴
Just use the vita saw as a spy checker
if ya wanna try out demoknight, id highly recommend flat or mostly flat koth maps. harvest is probably where id start, although suijin and kong king are also pretty good.

2:09 I'm more into the softer rock genres, but I'm curious what this song's called.
"Highlander (The One)" by Lost Horizon
@@TealOpal Oh, thank you very much.
Oh my good god it's the song from that monkey flip meme.
Hello im existing
No you're not
Hold on, did someone mention power metal?
imo the vita saw is a downgrade from the bonesaw, having less hp on medic, the class wich your top priority is to not die, is the biggest downside he could ask for. at least the bone saw just does nothing and lets you play without a belt on your neck
16:16 Wild comparison but I dont get how this character and classic/sydney sleeper correlate
Oh primarily just because the Classic and Sydney Sleeper are commonly considered "bad" and Frank Grimes was really unfortunate and died lol
So... No head?

Saying hybrid-knight is gimmicky was your worst take in this video
Y'know I can live with that
So no head?
6:48 uh.... Is this a feature or a bug?...
Put it on the 0.25
I dont play tf2, gonna preface this right out the gate, but i disagree with the notion that the Bazaar Bargain is overpowered; if it only pops off in the hands of a competent enough sniper to click on heads with very high consistency, then any other sniper rifle would be equally effective against anything except a pocketed power class because quickscopes do so much damage that they can one shot half the roster and two shot anyone, with only heavy requiring two headshots. Every pub stomping Bazaar Bargain sniper you've experienced would have probably stomped you with stock.
What's your fav weapon btw?

I'm not sure you take requests but, I'd like to see a review on the infinite clip subcategory of weapons

Teal buddy you make really good content but we need to get you onto jump academy bro 💀
Why is the airstrike's design culturally inappropriate?
Mainly just because UA-cam doesn't like it when you talk about "sensitive issues" (in their own words) and the words "air strike" might trip their demonetization flags as a result.
Ah... Thanks for the info
I am Pyro. I have become real.
how much ping do you have on your clips zamn
Maybe calling them ‘killstreak’ items would be more fitting
marxist definintion of capitalism spotted (Im not saying its a bad thing I just find it funny that we are criticizing capitalism in a tf2 vid)
Solarlight probably cringed alot seeing eyelander used with tide turner xD
6:25 Solar probably big mad for you saying they counter Demoknight even tho theres 1-10% chance youll find clueless unguarded engy with sentry and you can clap em. Yes Solar, if engy is REALLY bad you can BARELY catch a W. But most engy players arent like that
8:04 "noNo u see now THIS time engy is gonna be clueless enough for me to do Solarlight move on his sentry and ez counter it as demoknight, TRUST ME TEAM!" *instantly dies cuz engies arent as clueless as solarlight showed em*
