''Bulgaria'' is quite a big place. My water never gets turned off unless there is a local burst, which normally gets fixed in an hour or two. My road tax is 175 leva a year for a Nissan X trail. 135 leva a year for a Merc Sprinter, both need vignettes (87 leva) as well. My ''council tax'' is 275 leva a year. Rates vary per municipality. My ciggies ( Camel) have just gone up to 6.30 leva a pack, all ciggies have just gone up. Luckily we never get hail. I am on the coast, 5 mins to the beach, 3 mins to the forest, halfway between Burgas and Varna. Electricity for domestc customers is about 25 stotinki ( 11p) per kilowatt hour daytime, 15st ( 6p) nightime cheap rate.

@@SerendipityHomestead Partly yes...I am in Nessebar municipality which has the second highest municipality taxes in BG just behind Sofia.

We live in 47 km from Varna and 35 from Dobrich.The house across ours Is for sale for 26 000 € but you have to put like 20 more to
remake It. We have english and Irish neigbours.

The price differences are extremely. We are glad we are moving over and have sold up in UK as latest council tax bill for a 2up 2down is £1700! 🤯

I got a beer licence to sell Alcohol for UK but couldn't run a shop to save my life, as retired Fireman, I'm better at kicking in doors. To be honest we haven't had much luck with postage, quite a few things sent to us don't get here?? So mostly I get things sent to family in the UK and they bring things over when they visit.
Other people in BG seems to get postage on but not us for some reason🤷🤷xxx

Bulgaria, a country with no bulgarians left in it & with a cost of living affordable only to foreigners. Noice! 🥲If something happens here any day now, don't you panic, it'll be for the better, trust me. Over the last 40 yrs they've been embezzling funds & F-ed us good, really good! Ppl living paycheck to paycheck for the last 20yrs & pensioners making ends meet with (500-780lv/mth) keeping their🤞
@@v.d.d.1188 the younger generations are leaving villagers looking for a better life in cities, this is sad, but also true, and yes alot of "foreigners" are moving in, breathing new life into forgotten houses and villagers, myself and my husband live the same paycheck to paycheck, we are not "rich foreigners" we are people wanting to live the simple life with "friendly" Bulgarians x
