Lionel Legacy & Scale Conventional F3’s, ABBA Super Chief and New York Central Empire State Express!

Who doesn’t love running F units on a Saturday morning!
Welcome back! This morning, the day before Father’s Day, I decided to come down to the still-in-progress layout and run what might be the best detailed O-scale F3’s, or at least in Lionel’s lineup!
Featured here is a custom ABBA Santa Fe Super Chief consist, pulling 12 MTH RailKing 60’ streamlined passenger cars. Can you believe that setup is being run conventional? The smoke unit works beautifully, and the level of detail on these models is fantastic.
The Lionel New York Central Legacy F3’s are about as good as modern F3’s get, featuring Legacy control and rail sounds, as well as a level of precision in control which none of my other locomotives handle; these F3’s will absolutely crawl!
Anyway, this is a no-frills mix of slow, medium, and high speed running. My favorite part of this feature is the sounds captured as the train passes through the turnout switches, creating a stunningly-realistic clickety-clack!
