Henry St. Claire Fredericks, Jr. (born May 17, 1942), better known by his stage name #TajMahal, is an American #blues musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor, and film composer. He plays the guitar, piano, banjo, harmonica, and many other instruments, often incorporating elements of world music into his work. Mahal has done much to reshape the definition and scope of blues music over the course of his more than 50-year career by fusing it with nontraditional forms, including sounds from the Caribbean, Africa, India, Hawaii, and the South Pacific.

The power comes from the true emotional feeling, not from the amplifiers. I wish more rockers would realilze that. Of course it helps to have a magnificent voice like Taj Mahal who sings even better than he did in 1969!
This is outside! Mr. Mahal is a living legend with a 50 year career...so far. That rhythm section is deadly!

Yes indeed. I’m 68 and a lifelong fan. The last time I saw him I shelled out for VIP tickets and got 5 minutes with Taj and Mo. he made me laugh so hard. He put on a politically incorrect accent in reaction to my Jewish sounding name. Pretty easy to laugh and forgive my idol for something petty. I got a chance to tell him my daughter became a university trained jazz guitarist because of his influence on me. I filled my house with folk instruments and his music. She’ll pick up the mantle.
