Popovici is an amazing swimmer but I still think he swims better when he is leading from the front. Playing catch up with the monster big boys is not going to beat them. He can not afford to expect them to tire whist he is coming on strong towards the finish...there just isn't enough time or metres, its too little, too late. I wish him well for next year but on this showing and the 200m he will get squeezed unless he gets in front early, there will be no wave for him to ride.🏊♂@@nikitashevchenko105
I was there, it was such a surreal experience having the whole crowd chanting David's name. And then seeing him fight so hard for that medal... It really was amazing!
Popovici went from 7th at the third turn to finishing 3rd! Incredible closing speed.
Yeah but still over half a second behind. Too little, too late. He's been found out by the "big" boys.
His second fifty split was equal to grousset and miressi. Not as much closing speed as he got year ago
