I've been listening to you since you were 18, and you since became my favorite metal female vocalist. I watched you live only once, that was in 2015, Silver Springs MD, when Delain was the guest performer to Nightwish - which, was still like a dream that I watched my favorites at once. I was shocked by the incident in 2021, but then quickly figured out that I just want to follow you. Glad you have found your way, and I feel blessed to be able to continue listen to you.

Charlotte, best wishes for 2024, perhaps once participating in Beste Zangers? Or they have never asked you as well as Manda Ophuis, Zora Cock, Marjan Welman, Dianne van Giersbergen, Lisette van den Berg, and Simone Simons? All great female fronted vocalists from the Netherlands.
They have asked Simone Simons but she had an Epica tour so could join the show.
Manda stopped singing completely and isn't in the music business anymore.
But besides Simone they never asked anymore of your list.
Floor her succes was not expected and very unwanted by the program makers. They asked Floor so they could prove that the Netherlands wasn't waiting for metal music. How wrong were they?
@@kiskethekeeper The best episodes Beste Zangers were in which Anneke van Giersbergen en Floor Jansen participated. Also worldwide a lot of enthoustiac reactions on social media. Both great metal ladies challenged the other vocal participants to a next higher level. Last but not least I forgot to mention Marcela Bovio, and some of the Flamish metal ladies as Valerie de Kempe and Maggy Luyten.
I first listened to Delain back in '09-'10, and it didn't take long for them to become my favorite band. I'm incredibly happy that Charlotte is still making music, and that it's going so well. Her voice is a gift.

I want to see, hear about persons who do have talent, who can sing, compose and express themselves through their art. That's the real difference between Charlotte Wessels and the so-called (don't know if they sound the same in English - I'm a natural German speaker) influencers. And that's also (but surely NOT all) why Charlotte is something special!

I discovered Delain late, with aDoD, already being a longtime fan of Nightwish, Within Tempation and Epica, and to this day, it is very active in my listening rotation with A&C and Tf6FU (plus older albums from time to time), but I never had the chance to see you live.
I’m not on Patreon but bought the 2CD set, immediatelly fell in love with many songs (and still amazed by the sum of emotions carried by every single word of Against all Odds), then most of the others, and bought it a couple more times as gifts.
And yes, every bird you see takes a part of your soul with it, and I’ve been lucky to have met one of them.

To my shame, I had no idea about the many changes and difficulties that have happened, and I have been amazed by how much has gone on in such a limited amount of time. Charlotte, I know I speak as a fan and I can't go against your convictions without knowing your feelings about it, but please come back in 2024 to do wonderful things you did in your last band! You can't know things like this, but I tell you that "Apocalypse & Chill" remained mentally healthy during the nightmare we all live in 2020. It was the soundtrack of overcoming in my life, I was thrilled with every single of that amazing work ! And today I consider it one of the albums of my life. Please Charlotte, reconsidere back in 2024 with a super band, consider back to Symphonic Metal. We all have absolute conviction that you can, and can more. Don't let this story stay in the past, rebuild and do better. It is not going back to the past, it is reborn with grandeur within a song that you are powerful and unbeatable! A wonderful 2024 for you!

As a fan of her work in her previous band, I miss and long to hear her again doing something as great as what she did during that period. @@v-for-vendetta1776 Don't know if that's cool. People are then expecting Delain stuff and they will not play that! What they are doing now as a band is re-write all Charlotte her patreon music. The dutch tour wasn't a huge success if you are basing it on ticket sales. Most venues were actually half full. So that means they have to re-write the patreon song so that all their old-Delain fans are also going to listen to it. I doubt that re-writing songs because of that will make the songs better. I'm afraid they are going to have a forced Delain sound.

Many singers leave bands & have a very successful solo career-Ozzy, Robert Plant, Rob Halford, Tim "The Ripper" Owens, Sting, Doro, Lita Ford, Joan Jett, Ronnie James Dio, etc. Charlotte is a strong singer & songwriter, give her some credit! & I don't expect her solo stuff to sound exactly like Delain!! She has also made some great songs w/ The Dark Side Of The Moon w/her friend Melissa Bonny too. Charlotte will do just fine! & any lack of enough butts in seats at shows is largely due to the shit economy right now too! & that effects everyone! regardless of what field you work in, & if it means buying a concert ticket or paying rent, or buying food, people are gonna skip the show! Hopefully the world will get better w/regards to the economy. America's shit economy affects the world, & right now it's shit here cause we have a fucktard running the country into the ground! Hoping that will change this Nov.! We shall see!
@@v-for-vendetta1776 Well... She played a lot of shows in the same venues as Delain did in the same period. The Delainshows were all packed and sold out. Even with higher ticket prices.
When and artist or band play a liveshow you hire the venue and you need a enough ticket sales to pay for the venue and to make some money yourself. I doubt she, and her band, made some money out of that tour. For an artist to be able to tour you have to make some money. And with the music of her first two solo albums she couldn't do that. So... That's why I think they started to re-write those song. To make the fans of her work with Delain come back to her shows. I can't imagine how that isn't going to sound forced.

@@kiskethekeeper It was initally that the band woudl quit with this split, but Martijn changed his mind a few months later and rebooted it.
@@madnezz1961 Maybe you should visit a Delain show and see the chemistry these guys and woman have. I've been with them since the beginning (I was at their first show ever) and I have never experienced Delain as close as they are now! And I say that without degrading Charlotte... Because there is no doubt about her talent and her contribution to the band.
They split. 4 left and 1 remained. That's a massive and acrimonious split. The split can't be any bigger. As for chemistry - who cares? 1:26 It always sounds so stupid and pathetic when artists deliberately omit the name of the band where they were before, so as not to give them any more publicity. Charlotte, the band you've been in for 17 years is called DELAIN, and it's thanks to this band that you've become a well-known singer enough to then be able to gather your fans on Patreon and make a living from it. Don't forget that.
