I’m only 14 and have over 200 dollars saved just from #sidehustle and my goal is to save up enough money to buy my own equipment. Thanks for the inspiration dan!
Keep the good work up kid you're on your way
Thank you I’m trying my best
Edgar Perez nice keep it up your not far
Thank you sir we need more people in the world like you and your father
Facebook marketplace is a great place to pick up nice lawn equipment on the cheap.
Dan you're a terrific neighbor. I remember one of our neighbors had foot surgery (ingrown toenail) and wasn't able to put any pressure on his foot for a couple of days. He always kept his yard emaculate.
I went over and did what you do and edged and mowed his front and back yard. We aren't in an HOA, but needless to say he was grateful. Gives you that good feeling in your heart, kinda like when you give blood.
You are a great neighbour too yourself, Bill B..
I didn’t even get to watching but a few minutes when you said “nobody gives a sh*t what you think” to naysayers and I immediately tapped the “Like” button. 🤜🤛
Same. I also subscribed.
I became a subscriber as soon as you said "nobody gives a shit what you think!" You are my kind of people! Great job!
I love his videos. And I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but if nobody gives a shit then why address the people that leave bad comments if no one cares?
Me as well. Can't believe people have clicked the thumbs down.
Your neighbors (and the Mayor) must love it when they see you cutting these properties as you take care of them as if they are yours. Good Work!
Another fine job Dan. Don’t t know why but I love watching you work overgrown yards like that. I think it’s because it is such a huge difference from before to after.
Exit 0 I’m the same way. For some odd reason it’s very satisfying seeing him take an overgrown yard and making it look real good again.
You, my friend, never disappoint . Always the professional. Always teaching the right and best ways.
Thank you Bunny 🐰
I agree with you a 100% I own my own lawn service
You're always professional your yard look excellent when you're done and I wanna go do yards like you do
Your little rant just gained you a new subscriber. exactly people are quick to judge and they do not know the story... and at one time neighbors used to help each other..
This is what makes me keep my property looking nice.when you see the outcome of a over grown lawn from start to finish. Awesome job as usual Dan!! Man that looks nice once again!!
Great video as always. I know some people in my area are physically unable to keep their yard up. Like you said. You dont know the situation
Gearing up for 2020 season to officially start I’ve been binge watching your channel and I hope you’re able to post more mowing footage this year! 😎
Perfectly done. It's amazing how much a decent cut/trim/edge can make for a property.
I truly love watching how you transform these yards you do a beautiful job my friend love your honesty and your cantor 🇨🇦❤️
Dan, Thx for letting me view for another job well done. Yes, I do agree with Powrguy Toms comment. You got hired to do a job & you did it period regardless of what people are going through at the time. Again, thx for providing me with tips how I can keep my lawn nice. Being at 70 years old, I still mow my lawn, pressure washer & trim bushes & etc.. Keep up the fine work of showing people like me how to do things better or in an easier way. Take care, Phil Anderson-Evansville, Indiana
Awesome video Dan as always.
What a huge difference you made in that property in 1 hour.you make every step efficient when you work.
Please keep the videos coming
I love these videos because it helps me learn how to do my lawn.of course I'm not professional but I have made great improvements:)
Great you told everyone to keep their opinions to themselves. Positivity goes a long way. Negativity gets you nowhere. Love your videos . I have learned a lot from watching how you mow and trim to doing maintenance on your equipment. Keep em coming.
After years in my early life doing what you are doing now, had more than 20 regular yards and many clean ups like you do I went to a regular job for the past 30 years and now am dealing with skin cancer from being out in the sun so much. Got a good hat to cove up now and as I am close to retirement and started doing a few yards just because I like to see the finished product of my work.. good job
Yes, we never know what their story is. I just enjoy watching you mow & all. Also, maybe getting a cheap little umbrella & attaching it to the tripod to shade the camera might work? Just a thought.
Love eatching edging done. The before and after shots are so satisfying. To the young man cutting lawns keep doing what you do. Give good service and word of mouth will get you more customers.
I love edging. It’s so satisfying. Makes all the difference in the world. Crisp and clean
Thankyou for another great video. There is something just so relaxing about seeing an overgrown yard get done. Thankyou again for sharing these videos with us.
LOL I am glad you were relaxed! I happened to be stressed!!!!! lol
You do very good work. Thank you for your comment on not knowing people's situations. We all have our share of problems.
Thank you
There's a sidewalk under there, awesome job sir as always! Keep 'em coming!
I'm from the UK and don't have a lawn but i love your vlog. Keep up the good work and down with the haters👍
love how said not to judge others situation. i love to watch and learn.
I agree, no one knows what others are going through and not everyone has family or friends who can help them out in times of duress. Be kind always, you never know when you may need help yourself!
You did a great job Dan! Your mower goes through that stuff like butter, lol.
Amen Brother! People that have something to say bad, have to look in the mirror first. Besides you are mowing the grass not them! People just make me wonder sometimes.
Good Job, and a hard job with it being very moist. Time consuming and a lot of work on your part, I would have passed out halfway through lol. You are a strong dude and have lot's of stamina. God Bless.
G'day Dan, I myself see a few overgrown yards, when I started my side hustle, I started watching your videos, since then I have adopted your methodology on the mowing, and in particular, the use of the whippa snippa (edging and up against structures), has seen a dramatic increase in a quality finished product.
And from that, it has gotten me more referrals, via facebook, and word of mouth.
Thank you for imparting your knowledge and experience and looking forward to watching more of your vids..cheers from down under! :)
Dan I want to say as one lawn care giver to another I’ve watched your videos and we the great differences you make. I bet the trolls who say bad things have never cleaned up a yard, I’d even bet they’ve never picked up a weed eater. Keep it up man you’re doing great.
Rock star job...your compassion to others is very refreshing!
Thank you hun
Dang,
Even with the chute blocker down the volume of grass is still flying out. That makes from tough work and with the heat/sun conditions HOT WORK!
Great job Dan.
Dan is the man every lawn he cuts is perfect much respect man I’m 17 trying to start my landscape business
Thank you Martin
I'm watching a video of a guy mowing and trimming a lawn. And honestly enjoying the heck out of it. Only in America my friends! Keep up the good work Dan.
Your piece of advice, at the beginning of the video, to internet trolls just got you a subscription.
I appreciate that
One thing I have been doing with my yard (I have a sidewalk also), is mow along the street, sidewalk (entire tree-lawn), along the driveway, and several strips in from the driveway and sidewalk, as well, blowing the grass toward the center of the yard, in your case (I use a mulching mower and don't let the grass get too high). Mow around trees and flower beds, also. THEN do your edging. Then blow off the street, sidewalk and driveway, into the grass that has yet to be cut. Then finish mowing the rest of the lawn, being careful not to blow grass back out over any paved areas. The advantages are numerous:
- You'll have less grass to weed wack or stick edge through.
- You'll save wear and tear on your edger. Absolutely no need to go over it twice, like you did here, and then a third time with a string trimmer. That's just a time-consuming act of futility, IMO.
- You'll save your edger blade or trimmer line.
- You'll save time blowing off the street, sidewalk, and driveway, because there is much less grass to blow off. You will not need to use the blower twice, if you do it right, like you had to here.
- You'll save wear and tear on your blower.
- Most importantly, you'll save lots of time! You might just be able to fit in one more job during the day, making this method even more profitable.
- The yard will look better, when you are finished.
Give it a try.
That is a great lawnmower you're using! Hope your favorite customer stays in the region. Maybe you can cut their lawn at their new house! You made great points on not being critical of the homeowner. Good job there.
Another method I used when cutting thick grass, when I mowed grass for others that let it get too high, is, I would make two to four strips down the center of the yard, then blow all the grass from the outside, into that wide strip I made. Since I did not have a bag attachment, I raked the pile of grass up and dumped it in a field next door. Today I would bag the excess grass from that middle strip, dump it, or haul it away.
A criticism I would have of mowing services, is the bi-weekly plans you have. That is too long of time to leave in-between cuttings, especially in the spring and early summer. Then you are cutting off far more of a third of the grass blades, hurting the grass and the appearance of the lawn. I would recommend to your customers, if they care about the appearance of their lawn, is cutting it at least once per week in the spring, when the grass is growing the fastest, every 10 days at the most, in the summer, and then maybe every 14 days in drought conditions, when the grass is hardly growing. If they water their lawn, you would need to cut more. You'll make more money that way, also, but the quality of the cut is important, too. Just my two cents on that.
I also recommend using the best ear protection (and eye protection when using the edger, string trimmer and hedge shears) you can find. It doesn't appear you are using any ear protection, and your glasses do not provide side protection. Okay, I'm done now.
Dan's Vlog, you are the best and most honest lawn man on UA-cam, thanks for your honesty and information👍
Thank you
I just love this! The feeling of relief after the edges are done... aaaah!
I watch your videos to learn.... You have the ability to talk, sell & that's something I'm still having trouble with when giving out business cards etc... Your a good man 👍
I appreciate that!
I remember Sarah & that a few yrs ago, hope she is doing well since she is back now,Thanx for another Great Vlog DanO🤓👍
Sarah isn't back, there are new renters in the house.
Great opening remarks, everyone's situation is different. Just watch and learn and be inspired. Enough said!!!
Thank you
Really tidy neat looking front lawns over there 👍🏼😃🇬🇧🇬🇧
That’s why I watch you. You teach, and you tell it like it is.
Cutting tall grass can be a chore! You did an outstanding job on the entire property! Looks great.
You sound like a great guy and you do a great job I learned a lot to make my yard look better thanks!
I get passersby commenting about a lot how "girls should not be doing yard work" when I am cleaning my front yard. Sometimes, I also get a comment about how "I'm doing pretty good yard work for a girl." 😂 I'm not offended, I think it is funny.
As for my house, first time visitors often tell me my house looks plain on the inside and beautiful on the inside. I don't see it like that, because I live here.
I am happy your customers are willing to allow you to film you cleaning their yards. I love watching the transformation as it is happening. 😊
Love your commentary about negative comments. That helps no one's day. Okay, so this is a year old video, but still!! LOL--love your channel.
I totally agree, even though I have commercial stihl weedeaters. the SRM225 IS MY GO TO . just enough torque to get the job done but less likely to scalp and throw rocks
Love your thoughts bro. Definitely always a good thing to be empathetic. We dont know what’s going on with each situation. Great great work!! Finish product was complete perfection.
Honesty speaks volumes. Good work!
It looks great. Another great job and video. Keep up the great work. Excellent job as always have a great day
I agree Dan...a lot of people just assume laziness when they see an unmoved yard...but like you said truth is there are many reasons why someone's grass can get out of control.
I learn and enjoy watch your teachings, Thank you.
Inspiring from the original show that started it all and more!!!
All hail Dan The Yard King! You are a master! Love your style and attitude keep up the great work, yard and otherwise.
Wow always learning something new from every video & great ideal raking the trim clippings to the lawn mow & mulching and feeding the lawn at the same time !!! Love it sir !!!
Thank you
Looks like it was beautiful clear day too!!
The lawn is a beautiful green, and you've done a beautiful job of mowing an edging. The front yard looks great!
Thank you!
Thanks Dan. Wonderfully positive helpful attitude. What a beautiful world it would be if everyone was as honest, kind and hardworking as you! That reminds me...I gotta go cut my lawn! Thanks for setting the haters straight!
Good advice about keeping the negative comments away no one truly does know the situation, also I always enjoy your clean-ups and all of your videos
Daaamn, Daniel. Looking sharp.
That EXmark 36 looks like a lot of fun. My lawns are small, so I guess I'll keep on trucking with my old TB360.
Great work Dan! I like to watch this kind of videos in your channel. You inspire people to do things with love and passion. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from Costa Rica!
I went to Costa Rica when I was 15. Stayed at the Hotel Corobici
Oh really? Nice. I hope you enjoyed your visit here.
Great words Dan no nonsense as usual, best wishes from Cyprus.
amen my man.people just have to commit on others demises.thanks for sharing dan.God Bless!!!!
I am so impressed by the quality of your good landscaping work! You are my Mentor. Thanks!
Thank you
I agree with Danial Sears comments below. Good honest speak and wish there was more like it. Thanks for the videos.
Thank you
You do an excellent job....I am sure the homeowners are so proud of their property when you are complete.
Thank you
Nice job it looks great especially all the edging work really makes a proper you look good
Last year, I got my 13 year old son hooked on yard care as his "side hustle". The neighbors know him as a kid they can call to take care of their yards on short notice. In one summer, he earned enough to buy the components to build his own pc. This summer he's saving his funds to buy parts for the car we just got him from the salvage auction. This is a great way to earn a little extra. Thanks for the great videos.
I got my first truck at 16 from mowing lawns as a young teen
great job!! I also mow on the side. Love it I like watching videos to figure out how I can my jobs easier and faster. would help if I had one of them mowers lol. But I have the next best thing and that is a zero turn haha.
Dan has the best finishing I’ve seen in a long time. Awesome quality!
Thank you!
Dan another thing. I carry a file with me and upend the mower and keen the blade edges quickly. This keeps them sharp and impresses the customers. It takes about one minute, but wear a glove incase you slip and move into the edge.
damn straight! I love the "bad" yards the overgrown yards, so much more fun than the simple mows (and the money is nice as well)
I’m so glad you spoke about people downgrading others. We have all been in bad situations and sometimes food on table or electricity on is more important than buying a lawn mower.
Thank you!
I watch a lot of UA-cam videos, I do not watch any other lawn service channels because I want to make sure my content is original comes from my heart comes from my thoughts and is never influenced by others, but those videos that I do watch of whatever it is I’m watching I never leave a negative comment for any reason no matter what.
Great job again, Dan! Got my OCD fix for the day.
lol happy to help ya Wanda!!
Not only do I commend you on doing an amazing job on these properties, I commend you about speaking out to people who speak unkindly of others. We do not know what families may be facing, perhaps cancer, someone has had a heart attack, or even a death in the family in another state. If it were me going through a rough period of time or a family member, my lawn would be the last thing on my mind! People who have beautiful homes would not let their lawns go if there wasn't a need to do so! So people should think before they speak! Thanks for another great video!
Tell it how it is Dan! I love just watching transformation from long to short and learning new stuff! Can't believe that people can be so rude.
You would be surprised at some of the comments I have to delete. Keep in mind, most inappropriate comments get filtered to the spam folder anyways and from there I can approve them or delete and block them but the ones that do make it onto the video page can be very rude and hurtful to the client
I'm from Sweden and likes your UA-camvideos and learn me stuff from you
Always love a good cleanup. Your videos are better and better, like the added pop up picture in picture comments.
Well Dan you did it again!! It looks great and the HOA should be happy too xx
Thank you lillybet!
I agree 100% I love yard like that . keep up the good work
That’s looks night and day terrific job Dan!
Damn good job Dan 👍 👏 also I love the ranch homes there wish we had them in my area the DMV.
Thank you
Its amazing how much difference there is just after the edging
Yup!
Man, that Turf Tracer didnt bog down once from what I could tell... what a machine! You're a good man, Dan!
It did right near the end of the backyard when all the clippings were piled up
That was a tough clean up and mow. You did a wonderful job!
Thank you
That looks a hundred times better than my yard for real. Got money today to finally buy a new riding mower. Got an acre to cut had been using a push mower till it rusted in half. That edger cuts like a champ.
Great!!
You made good points, I enjoy watching the channel and putting alot of your advice to practice on the yards that I do or my own. I have a yard that I do every two weeks for a REALLY good deal but it's to help them out and I make a little extra cash. Your right it's no one's business and we don't know what's going on in other people's lives. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you Robert
PS: thanks for the "great" tip on cleaning my siding!! Worked like a champ.
Glad it helped!
Awesome!! Great Job!!! I liked especially that you did a terrifically CLEAN Job!! We don't get that in my country..
Thank you
All I can say is keep up the great content.
I have learned so much about lawn care from your vedios then I have by just doing it.
Thank you
Thanks Dan for doing a service for people in need, keep up God's work for the needy.
Thank you!
@@DansVlog You Are Welcome 🙏🙏🦶👍👍👍✌✌✌
Looks pretty good Dan...Great job!
You love a challenge. The home owners must be really happy. It looks great.
Thank you
I really liked your words, at the beginning, about not judging people because of the way their yards look. That applies to so many situations. Thanks for being strong on that. The before and afters are awesome. Great work. Wow, your mower slices that hip-high field in the backyard so easily. Excellent. Finally, maybe a few cocktail umbrellas taped onto your camera would keep it from overheating. Ha, ha!
Thank you Kathy! I bought a new camera that should solve this problem and I should be able to start filming with it this coming weekend when I get it all set up
Looks nice. Time for another one. Keep up the good work.
Great opening words!!!
Great work Dan!!!
