He was influential for a while, but in Animals and The wall he didn't get the lyrics in Waters songs which were a bit too agressive for his taste and he didn't do anything. In The wall which some consider their best album he was totally irrelevant. In Dark side Wright was very important (US and them, the great gig, any color, breath) maybe even more relevant than Gilmour as a composer.
Rick was cool, but loved the Coke too much and was more interested in saving paying tax. Going to Greek Islands to avoid paying his dues. Roger was the lyrical genius the band required to become the rock legends, they all aspired to become. Dark Side, WYWH, Animals, The Wall and The Final Cut..... Enough said.

Definitley the best version of this song with the umma gumma and Pompeii versions just behind it. The way rog uses his inhale noise throughout the song even before the main scream adds a lot as well as the little riffs gilmour adds at the same time.

Yes i think they have full but its unrestored and the cameras are now not mixed because only set the controls for the heart to the sun and careful with that axe Eugene are part of the Mixed Brighton Film and we have this footage since a long time ago and Pink Floyd only restore it for The Early Years Box Set but its no New Footage so...

If i remember right, there was bootleg of the concert circulating ~20y ago on 3(or 4)cds. Video reso was poor but great audio quality.
I saw them play this song on 9/15/1972 in Tucson. They also played most of Dark side of the Moon. I was 14 and they really blew us away.

The pompeii concert is the absolute peak of pink floyd in my humble opinion. It's legendary. The main reason I visited the city a few years back
