Jussie Smollett was not the originator of the hate crime hoax

In 1987 Tawana Brawley was found in trash bag with KKK written on her body along with other racial slurs. According to her, she was raped by a group of white men which included law enforcement and a prosecutor. Al Sharpton was Ms. Brawley's spokesperson, accusing the governor of being racist in handling this case. The information went before the grand jury and the grand jury concluded that this was all a hoax. Months later, Tawana's boyfriend came forward and said that she made this up because she was scared because she ran away and was gone from home a few days. To date, she has not admitted that she did anything wrong. Like Jussie Smollett, her family continued to believe in her story.
