Hey kids!!! Its the last episode of Weekend Wankshop in the year 2016!!! We lost an awful lot of great artists in 2016... Prince, Bowie, and of course, Merle Haggard. What a crappy year for musicians. So to honor the memory of The Hag, i've put together a lesson on how to play the intro guitar solo to his classic tune Ramblin' Fever!
Crank up that Telecaster (or Ibanez Talman if you're like Uncle Ben) and get twanging around on these classic country licks.
Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for more goodness in 2017!!!
Great lesson!! Thank you so very much for the patience and clear instruction! So many other "lessons, teachers etc, etc" just blow right through a lesson, sounding very much like an auctioneer!!! Blah, blah, blah, and at the speed of light.
Again, thank you for the calm, clear and cool way you teach! Don't stop what you're doing, please.
Hi Ben, I am a Merle Haggard fan. Thank you for this lesson.
Uncle Ben this is right what we need to keep real Country alive.!!! THX
Man Ben, I got to have the privilege be a stage hand and help with setting up his band, I got to see him from behind stage, all the musicians were so great, there was this big red headed guy who played guitar sooooo good. Man Merle will be missed.
Torn Horizon Was it Redd Volkaert? He played with Merle for a while.
Maxwell Madon heck yeah.. . that guy is.sick
One of my favourite Hag intros. Thanks for posting!
Just learnt this in 3 days, thank you very much 👍🏼❤️
I love Merle Haggard and I have have to say this song really makes me want to learn this guitar this is hands down no competition my favorite song ever and especially on a guitar
The Hag, my favorite country Artist! I can play at step dad speed with no problem so i should be able to handle this one 😁 Had no idea your musical appreciation was so broad. Thanks for the lesson 👍
Just sat down and cranked this out over the course of an hour. Been playing guitar for around 2 years now and I'm finally ready to ramp up repertoire, thanks for all your videos, you're amazing Ben.
Nothing beats a good Hag song
Awesome!! Thank you. Please do more Merle.
Hey Ben.. awesome.. love The Hag. Thanks for the lesson! Thumbs up!
My ears can't stand to hear the same old song, except this one.
Now THIS is how you give a tutorial!!! Awesome job!!!
Perfect!!
Not expecting the Katamari Damacy song in the background on a Merle Haggard song lesson haha
Thanks for this!
Have a great 2017 uncle Ben and thanks for all the great videos.
right on !
Hey Mr. Eller! Would be cool for 2017 to get into more chicken pickin'! Also, can you do a vid on how you get the swirl paint on your guitars! Super sick!
good video, he was under rated as a guitar player I think.
What about the solo on make up and faded blue jeans, that's a hit one!!
Step Hag speed. That there alone is worth the one dollar I sent you this month.
Just saw this “Uncle Ben” ! Great Tutorial Brother! \m/
Love this. Thanks Ben
2016 might have been a ruff year but it was an incredible year for metal
how?
How? We got a bunch of awesome music from the big 4 realising albums in a span of 14 months to a bunch of awesome new comers
+The Puertorican Beast Jonathan Ayala whut?
thank you for doing the song
Good stuff sir! Thank you
Keep Merle going
It's been a while...how about solo number two in Ramblin Fever
Thanks man!
Why is this channel called a “wank” shop? asking from the UK
Thanks for the video - I am having trouble finding tabs on instagram. Can anyone help please?
its weird hearing the katamari damacy music on this video
nice
dude please show some more haggard songs
Uncle Ben, can I ask you a question? How do you blend thrash and rock?
Where can I find the Tab?, I've find 2, but their almost like You play it, Just two notes different in the Tabs, I have.
His last tour wasn't his band. it was asleep at the wheel who offered to play his songs for him for final tours. he was ruined by his original manager and lost everything. he was broke and couldn't pay anyone to play for him. but he had friends in low places as well.
Does anybody know a good place to learn the rhythm guitar part for this song?. There is a lot going on the track and I'm having a hard time breaking it down.
Biological father Ben, please help me learn the solo in Children of Bodom's 'Living Dead Beat'. After spending at least a days worth of time watching your video on sweep picking, but the solo features some weird tapping shit which is really annoying. Pls halp :(
Do some WAYLON! and please
Something very important you left out... Not the notes or pattern but the tone..... I be used a reverb and compression pedal. doesn t have the sound.... can you give insight please
Hey man, I’m not sure I understand your question, but the most important part of classic country tone is the guitar; you gotta have a good Tele style guitar!
@@BenEller I have a Fender Tele. not a squire. Mid range
tabs?
You are a full on Ibanez man eh?
Waters what?
prince, lemmy, George michaels, glen fry at least this year is over.
