Thank you so much for this video. We are going in February and this is exactly what I was looking for, something that shows me the details. Again, thank you :)
Hi Ken, thanks for this. Very informative. We are going next month and this is very helpful. I have a question about tipping staff here, what was your practice?
I'm assuming you are Canadian? if so then Bring a couple rolls of Loonies, Toonies and a bunch of $5 bills and tip with those, one drink tip a dollar, eating in the buffet $2-4. Dinner $5-10 Bill. Also the Cubans love it if you could also buy all the coins back before you leave, as they can not use the coins at their banks, only bills. I'd suggest using USD because they can use that money better that Canadian but the exchange rate is crazy right now. When I arrive at the hotel I usually ask the severs if I can buy their Loonies and Toonies. Hope this helps
Stayed at the Memories Caribe recently 2x. Not sure u have been their...so: how's hot water at Melia(warm at memories), assume the beach is perfect like memories. Plan to head that way November this year. Loved your vlog to NFLD and drone hitting pole in rocky harbour.
Just wanted to say "thank you" for the detailed videos. Ultimately it was this and your related videos about Melia Cayo Coco that helped us decide to go here in February 2024. Great place, well worth it.
Great video! I was last there in February 2020, right before everything shut down. I was SHOCKED to see the lagoon restaurant reduced to a pile of rubble!! That was a surprise! What a shame, it was such a nice restaurant on the inside. But the replacement they have lined up looks awesome! I love the new lobby furniture. The cats look like they love it too! Cute little tabby by the buffet. Last time I was there there were 2 cats that frequented the lobby. One was a little black cat. The other a (well fed) black and white cat missing its tail. Both were cute but didn't want much to do with the tourists. We're staying at the Pullman (or rather, former Pullman) next door in April. I might have to sneak over and do a little tour myself to walk down memory lane! And see if that tabby is around haha. Thanks for this walkthrough! Unedited walkthroughs are the best.
Great video, thanks for taking the time to put this together. Are all the rooms these separate "bungalows"? On the booking site it just says Classic Room without any way to choose the different types. I just want to make sure I'm not staying in the main building.
Thank you for the walk through. It was very informative. May I know how many times you have been to Cuba and how many times you have been to this resort ?
They've just renovated a few buildings and we can't wait to see what they have done. One trip we did to Melia Cayo Coco we met 18 couples and 14 of them were there because of my videos :D
Reading chatter on Trip Advisor the lagoon cabins were closed because of fixes to the bridges. Such a shame because they were the second best part of Melia Cayo Coco (besides the beach). Hope they finish the work in a timely manner unlike the International Restaurant which has been left in shambles for over 3 years. Ken, how was the music? When we were there last spring they didn't play music on the beach and it was perfect for relaxing. I heard now the "animation team" can be annoying playing music/dancing on the beach (instead of just the pool area).
Great video! Looking forward to our stay in late February. Just hoping to get an honest assessment of the food on the resort. Not expecting anything fancy, but curious to know about variety, à la carte entrée quality and whether there have been shortages of foods and beverages and any instances of sickness from the food. Also, how difficult is it to get reservations in the à la carte restaurants? Thanks
It's not too bad, they had shrimp some nights at the buffet and you could always upgrade your dinner to lobster for an extra fee. I had Mahi Mahi most days
Thank you 🙏 heading there for my 50th birthday with 19 of my closest friends! We are looking forward to it. Excited to snorkel and see the beach bar. 💕
❤hope you have a wonderful trip❤ Thanks for sharing this with us once again. . I am interested in how much a trip for two may cost? Would love to save up to go one time in the near future with my other half 😊
I've retired to Florida 4 years ago and have wanted to visit Cuba. We have a lot of Cuban restaurants here and love the food. Thanks for sharing. Love that it looks very similar to Florida except without the noise and mobs of people. lol
Americans can go to Cuba but not directly from the USA you have to go to another country first typically Canada or Mexico and the same goes for returning.
Thank you so much for this video. We are going in February and this is exactly what I was looking for, something that shows me the details. Again, thank you :)
You are so welcome!
Just got back from MCC. Super helpful video. Great job of outlining facilities and layout. Cheers!
Glad it was helpful!

@@Ken_Domik I'm Canadian, this is a big help, thanks! Do you leave anything for house keeping?
Im having a hard time figuring out if that is the color of the tiles or if they need some power washing @ 6:08

haha glad you have watched those videos
Any reviews since all the renovation has been done? Are all room been renovated by now?
We haven’t been back since the renovations, but want to go back soon
Great video thank you! Have you been back since? Any changes if yes?
Did it rain or do they wash the floors outside every morning? That's nice
Rained
Excellent walk through video
Thank you 👍
Thank you!
Hi Ken. Thanks for the video. What room block did you like the most besides the lagoon rooms.
We've enjoyed all the rooms we have stayed in.
Beautiful!
What’s the age group around there ? Is it more of an older crowd? Does it get rowdy there?
Looks pretty peaceful 😮
It averages 50 plus
There have been a few young groups but probably 30+
Thanks for the video. Was there prior to hurricane. huge difference in the wooded area between buildings and water.

Okay, have fun.
Looks very similar to what you filmed in your previous videos of this place. Of course there are some minor changes that you mentioned.
Yes, that's why I created this update to show people who might want to go :)
@@Ken_Domik Where is the Cuba Resort food reviews?

There’s no main building with rooms. The rooms are separate from the main building
What a lovely resort! Thanks for sharing Ken 🤘
Thanks 🙏
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks Ken! Been waiting for a new walkthrough video. It’s great to see an update and it looks super beautiful!
Thank you for the walk through. It was very informative. May I know how many times you have been to Cuba and how many times you have been to this resort ?
You're welcome. We have been to Cuba 7 times and 5 to this resort :D
@@Ken_Domik It must be a great resort then. Planning to go to Cuba in December and so I might consider this resort.

Awesome job Ken love these walk through, hope you and Carol had a relaxing time off. Hope you and family have a very merry Christmas
Thanks, you too!
Great video. Thanks. Question? When was the last tornado who did the damages on the resort? Again thank you.
No tornados that I've ever here of, but hurricanes damage the area once in a while.

This resort is under renovation now and closed. It's scheduled to open in October but there may be delays.
Well explained ! Is there any nightclubs?
no
Is there any cell service there?
I used my phone the whole time. They also have free wifi 👍🏻
Wow. It's an Uncut and Raw Video by Ken Domik. Lol 😆 But anyway, Nice Vlog.
Nice spot. Looks relatively empty, which is surprising since it's high season.
I'm headed to Memories Flamenco tomorrow for a week.
It was early morning

Here's what the breakfast buffet was like in December...

Forgot to ask about the availability of fresh seafood on the resort.
It's not too bad, they had shrimp some nights at the buffet and you could always upgrade your dinner to lobster for an extra fee. I had Mahi Mahi most days
Can you get canned and or bottled beer?
We are beer drinking Canadians
I've found one of the bars to have bottles of Cristal, but most have draft
Hello from Sarnia! Love this new video! Thanks for posting. What time does pool table/ping pong bar typically close?
Not sure, probably 11pm maybe later
Thank you 🙏 heading there for my 50th birthday with 19 of my closest friends! We are looking forward to it. Excited to snorkel and see the beach bar. 💕
Looks like a beautiful place. Enjoy your time there.
Thanks Ken. We’ve watched all your videos and we booked a week in April 2024 from New Brunswick. Can’t wait to see it in person.
Hi. Thinking of going to Cuba in March 2024. This resort has been recommended to us. Appreciate anything from you for advice, etc. How can we connect?
Cool, just check out my videos, thanks
What time did you do this? Where are all the people?
Early morning
Thanks for sharing.
Great tour!
Is there a swim up bar
no
The hard plastic pool chairs are impossible to sit on. Unbelievable Melia Cayo Coco has them as the best resort in Cayo Coco.
They just upgraded the chairs after we left
Thanks ! Pity we couldn’t get to see the rooms… and not enough of the beach area…
Looks like too big a compound !
What a Beautiful place. Glad you guys had a nice vacation
Thanks so much
Is this Melia Jardines Del Rey?
What's the title of the video say? :D
Ken's second home. Thanks for the walkthrough Ken.
Any time!
Thank you! We booked for January 2024! Do you have a clip of walking the beach?
Not yet!
Hey Ken. Welcome home dude. Looks like you had a rad time in Cuba.
looks dead
Right at the beginning I said I was recording the video earlier in the morning to avoid more people 😎👍🏻
Thanks Ken

How was the food Ken ?
I’m hearing Cuba is a little sparse currently ?
Only thing I saw was missing was mushrooms at the omelette bar
@@Ken_Domik Really? When we were there in May they had shortages of french fries, vegetables, bananas, bacon, white wine.
All back now 😎🏝️
Ken is a food streamer. It must have been pretty bad when he doesn't show the food buffet 😉
Beautiful place.
Yes it was!
Such a gorgeous place.
My daughter is on a wheelchair would we have any problem
Pretty Nice place
Enjoy

Have fun!
@@Ken_Domik thanks bro I will hopefully next year it’ll be mine and my husband’s one year wedding anniversary it’ll be our honeymoon

@@Ken_Domik oh I missed it. Looks gorgeous. I love Cuba
Beautiful.
You got that right
Last I heard, U.S. citizens were not allowed to travel to Cuba, or it was not recommended. 🤔
It’s true, but it shouldn’t be.
he's canadian
Ken is from Canada 🇨🇦
Americans can go to Cuba but not directly from the USA you have to go to another country first typically Canada or Mexico and the same goes for returning.
Is cuba not safe?
pretty bad cubans can't get in there ...only foreigners
Sure they can, it's just that most probably can't afford it
Where's the beach?
Right beside the ocean lol
I hope you and your beautiful wife had a good time my friend
Yes, thank you
