I think the part that scared me the most was Elmo saying “Elmo loves you, too!” While on fire, just before he keels over and shrivels up.
It's like some sad scene in a movie where a child must be killed by a loved one and the kid doesn't even care and expresses their love towards their murderer because of their fond memories together.
