That's amazing - thank you. Chris and I love model trains, this sort of stuff is what happens when two creative souls throw themselves into collaboration.
The transatlantic element is great, it just happens to be that I model Canadian railways - and so does Chris… I wonder if anyone else does this sort of daft back and too…we enjoy it… no we love it. That’s what is important.
@@JamesHiltonCustomModelRailways I recently bought your Art of Railway Modelling book and have been thoroughly enjoying reading through it, especially the sections of creative writing by you and Chris. This is a similarly refreshing take on modelling. Look forward to seeing what comes next
Is the story behind the Terra transport locos that they came from the dual gauge segment of the Newfoundland railway/Terra Transport in Port Aux Basques? Because if so that’s really really cool!
The story about the TerraTransport faux history is described on the blog: paxton-road.blogspot.com/search/label/terratransport The basic idea was that CN used TerraTransport to group all of the non-profit making lines in the Maritimes. The system was sold off, as a whole. Each line had its own identity (like Genesee and Wyoming lines) but over time the lines still closed. System initially was Central Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Halifax South Western, Prince Edward Island, Dartmouth Terminal and New Brunswick Southern I think… later adding the Dominion Atlantic.
For broken ditch lights, doesn't matter whether you're in yard limits or not. The only difference it makes is that you can't pass a grade crossing at more than 20mph without ditch lights or a Mars light.
Great video, gentlemen! You've even made industrial Moncton interesting! 😉
Thanks, and yes, a great collaboration with my good friend Chris.
Brilliant - one of the best model railway videos I have watched on youtube

Terra Transport is sheer brilliance.
There is a lot more about our faux TerraTransport story: paxton-road.blogspot.com/search/label/terratransport
Nice good jobs❤
Thank you!
Great video, love the interchange of locos and stock between yourself and James.
Thanks James, it adds a lovely layer to the modelling.

Thanks Gary!
@@JamesHiltonCustomModelRailways no problem, just got your new book, love it
Excellent, glad you like it!
@@JamesHiltonCustomModelRailways even tough it features the work of Simon Glidewell, and Paul Mashal Potter ! LOL
Great design on Terra Transport. I'm a little confused on what just happened but it's good railroading.
Thanks Jeff, there is a lot more about the faux history Chris and I dreamt up about TerraTransport in my blog.
Love this, would be great to see similar for a UK outline location

We do too! Glad you have enjoyed the "art", it's perhaps a less obvious book than the first, but I'm proud of its messages.

This is the reason I often don’t bother making mine work, as the crossing is a slow one on Beaverbrook anyway due to lack of visibility.
Excellent video. May I ask which set of railroad worker miniature figures you used in this video?
They are from Modelu, scans of real people. www.modelu3d.co.uk/product-category/north-american/
