Great video James! I just re-shared your video on my channel. Please make more videos, you have amazing Cobra parts. I’m using your secondary tensioner on my Mach 1 and mentioned it in a few videos.
Suggestion on getting air out of cooling system on a Cobra. Use a funnel with a plug. Lisle makes a nice one. When you have gotten the air air out and there is coolant left in the funnel, and there better be or you get to do it again, the plug will allow you to pour the extra coolant back into the jug.
Great information and products, James! My '97 Cobra has the Vortech supercharger kit that utilizes a modified coolant crossover tube. Would your crossover delete unit work on my car?
Nice video...I have the stewart pump just installed...Im new to your channel but ive heard that unless u replace the radiator with a 3 row..the pump is not going to be much benefit...any truth?
I wouldn’t say that’s completely true. But there definitely would be big gains by adding the radiator. The biggest gain to me is the increased confidence in it not failing
What is your opinion on deleting the oil cooler totally? It seems a lot of people on the forums have done that, and say it’s fine etc etc. I’ve done the same on my 03, because after 2 attempts to rebuild the stock “ oil cooler” it still leaked coolant on the ground and I just said F it, deleted it. No cooler at all now. But I also do not road race the car, or extended periods of high rpm, mainly just cruise it around and a few hits on the street. I’ve thought about adding a real oil cooler to it, just haven’t done it yet and don’t want to if it’s really not needed for a car that’s mainly street cruised, with the occasional pulls on the street or 1/8 hits.
@@cobraengineering yeah I went with the MMR oil cooler delete, which was a huge mistake, I thought mmr could at least get that right, but no, they can’t. Their block adapter or whatever it is that bolts onto the block leaks so bad you couldn’t run the engine. So I ended up having to just throw it away and bought a Moroso one because yours was on back order at the time, and I needed it asap. So I’m using mmr’s filter head, and moroso block plate. Mmr said use a Fram Hp4 I think, which there’s no way anything fram is getting close to a vehicle I own. So I’m using the Amsoil cross reference to that, and it is a good bit bigger than the stock FL820s
So if we are to relocate the filter, is an oil cooler and oil thermostat required, or is it fine for a street car and maybe some occasional passes at the track?
Great thanks I’ll be on the look out , been wanting to do the crossover delete mainly to make everything easier to work on and looks, but now I’m interested in doing the oil cooling part as well, just wanted to see what all you need to do to the hose that comes down from cross over down to thermostat and oil cooler
Great, great stuff. Will you be going into the supercharger's cooling system? I am considering buying VMP's intercooler for my Terminator and pairing it with VMP's 1 inch water manifold (which I heard you designed) . I heard that you get the most from the intercooler if you pair it with the 1 inch water manifold lines. Is this true and are there any plans from you on making your own and putting it to market? I mean, it is your design lol. Nothing against VMP, but if you came out with an intercooler and your brand water manifold, I'd go with you.
I have no plans to make a intercooler brick. I can get the VMP one. I do have a very similar design for the stock one with either 3/4” or 1” lines. Yes I will do a intercooler video.
@@cobraengineering how much of the pluming needs to be changed out to 1" lines in the water manifold you made for VMP? Would there be a bottleneck at the intercooler pump since since the inlet/outlet can't be changed out, and would there also be a bottleneck at the heat exchanger inlet/outlet? Or am I overthinking it?
Just ordered the water pump and over the next week i will order the water heads bypass kit thanks so much for having this kit available for the public.
Incredible! What a better way to cool these engines. 100% simplified, fantastic engineering. Great work!

Awesome thank you!
As a rather new Terminator owner this video was gold! Thanks for a very informative clip. I'll most likely make an order from you in the near future.

Great video. Definitely products to be proud of.
Great products! I can’t wait to put the crossover tube kit on my car I hate that stock one.
🔥🔥🔥 love the info!
Would be great to see it all together
I have to wait for the snow to melt. Then I’ll be showing the whole install on my own car.
Great info!
Does the EMP pump require any modification to fit since it is smaller or is it a bolt up and done deal?
No modification. It’s exactly the same as the factory mounting.
@@cobraengineering Awesome
Great information! Like the products. Will these fit mach1 blocks aswell?
Yes. Basically they’re made for all C headed 4v heads.
Did i see that right, the thermostat housing has a couple bypasses cut into it?
Yes. It has them built in so you don't have to drill the thermostat.
Great information and products, James! My '97 Cobra has the Vortech supercharger kit that utilizes a modified coolant crossover tube. Would your crossover delete unit work on my car?
The B heads are different. I have to look into this yet.
Great video! Thank you. I took a look at your website and I'm not seeing the crossover delete listed. Are you selling this publicly yet?
Yes. I just have had supply issues on thermostats. But if you want I can get you one. Email me at james@cobraengineering.com

In short. You will be good. Most put a larger filter and personally I get a extra quart of oil in.
I will be doing a video on this specifically.

No it’s not required. I have gone without a oil cooler for more than 10 years with no problems.
But if you use a cooler the thermostat is necessary.
Do you have any videos or pictures of the whole set up installed? Crossover delete and lower hose to oil cooler ?
I’m in the process of editing the install video from my own car. Should be out next week.
Then I’m moving to the bottom side.

@@racequad9 Ideally you would want everything 1". But even with 3/4" lines you would see a increase in flow at the intercooler at least.
@@cobraengineering Will there be any restrictions at the pump? I do plan on doing VMP's GT500 style pump which pumps more GPM than stock
How do you do these mods and the rear head cooling mod without losing your heater core path? I am building a street car but want the most out of it.
I would just use the normal cooling mod that feeds the heater core.
Hi guys someone know what is the best temperature stetting on a tuner for the fans to kick on on low and high speeds for a cobra 1997 ?
That depends on a lot of factors. Your climate, cars purpose, and setup.
I use 196*-204*.
@@cobraengineering we are in Arizona and we just use the car once a month.
@@yaviermustang2012 in Arizona I might go down to 190-200 or even less. You just don’t want it so low that they come on during normal highway driving.
Hey if i want to eliminate the oil cooler do i have to just install the kit? Should it be set?
you would also need a oil filter relocation piece that I don't make. But with that you should be all set.
