I think the Raptors are going to be a .500 team at their floor if they remain healthy. They have a Jr Big 3 and a decent 4-9 rotation without scrubs & people are forgetting Mitchell is lockdown. . I see them competing with IND and ORL they really do have the personnel - and they finally get a training camp all together and they are all coming back ripped !! The pics are crazy. If the Bucks take the step backwards many of us expect with aging and an odd coach. Their ceiling is higher than anticipated and they are going to surprise teams. Rough schedule to start - but if they hit mid Jan at .500 look out as they will surprise the leaugue
no tank! if they have no chance to make the playoffs, and the top guys get a little rest, fine, but deliberately losing is not a good vibe. but, ihmo, if they can stay relatively healthy, then, hell yeah, they can make the playoffs. possibly, depth could be a bit of a question mark for this young team, but i think they actually have a pretty decent bench. as counterintuitive as it sounds Yak is most definitely a key to how they do this yr. while i don't think the raps can be judged on their team stats from the past season, you could see how they did with poetl in the lineup v how they played when he was playing - and that includes his horrendous start.

The lack of depth is a real issue. You could look at the bad record without Jakob 2 ways. One hes that valuable or two, they are that bad without him. Its more the latter. We have no other Center on the roster. Its the same at the pg position. I do not want to see Mitchell starting if Quickleys out. He couldnt even crack the rotation in Sac. This team has no depth. We need Gradey to be a knock down shooter cuz if not were relying on Bruce Brown as the starting sg n he cant shoot. This is why fans keep focusing on the starters cuz we dont want to address the obvious. They have no bench.
This year will be more stable than last. The only way is up, Rome wasn't built in a day, neither did it fall in one. Patience will be needed. I will be enjoying the entertainment they will bring on the court.. Unlike the gambling and numbers guys, who will be stressed. I will enjoy the sport and the growth of this young team. Stressed over small things in context of life.. Just enjoy!!!! Dang!!
I think you put out some good scenarios, but there will always be a "BUT WHAT IF". Weak east will definitely give Raptors some advantage making the playoffs even if they go sub .500. They have the talents but they dont all fit together yet. Hoping the 2024/25 Raps can be just a little better. Not asking much. It's boring watching them play in 2023/24

This team needs to tank because we have 2 big holes, no solutions and FO does not want to address them. I’m talking 2025 draft at this point as we have not made necessary moves in offseason except during draft. If outside top 3 I don’t think you can get Ace or Cooper. The draft is supposed to be very deep but looks like way too many small wings. Sg or SG/SF. We need a big wing and a C starting so we could move Jak as he gets closer to expire. I try this tank and get a top 6-7 pick and try and select Khama Maluach if he shows well at Duke and help fill hole at C. He can be your future starter and use Bruno and Ulrich to round out C core. Then you work phone and see if Pacers will pick for you 2025 and then we send them their 2026 which lets them have more draft / trade flexibility after 2025 draft. We would ask for Utah second 2027 for helping them with flexibility. There are a number of bigger wings in the high 10s early 20s that could play with RJ and Scott to make a great wing starting team. Yes I know we have Gradey but think he is a very good 6th man off bench shooter as his Def is not good enough to be starter.

If we can stay healthy aka Jakob staying healthy, we can definitely be in the play in tourney for sure, and even win it and make the playoffs.
