Be ALERT Everyone. The hurricane that hit Naples & Ft Myers a few years crossed over Cuba at night as a "tropical depression" then over night (literally) it built to a Cat 4 when it hit the gulf of Mexico/northside of Cuba then hit at a Cat 5.
When it comes close to Florida the water is very shallow and very HOT HOT water which will grow this storm.
PREPARE! 💪 Help your neighbors & family too. Especially, the Elderly neighbors.
Wishing everyone all the best. 💙🙏

This is very true! But that was an outlier. Media hypes this up when stats show it will probably be just another rainy weekend in Florida and business as usual as we are used to. BUT, we should always be prepared just in case.

We’re keeping a CLOSE EYE on the “development’s” as they happen…(Hubby has Hurricane Window Screens down from storage, and READY TO GO; has taken down/picked-up ALL loose branches/palm fronds/etc. from trees, and put them in the outside garbage; we have PLENTY of bottled water/canned food; a grill, generator, etc…) All we NEED to do LAST MINUTE, is “put-up” the screens and place the outdoor garbage cans in the garage. For NOW??(5:30pmEST)…We plan to “hunker-down” and “stay in place”. Our house is ABOVE “localized, flood-threat” in our NEIGHBORHOOD. (We ALSO aren’t in a Countywide “flood/storm surge threat” evac. Gulf water temps off the SW Fla coast have been upwards of 87-degrees! Prime energy pump for low pressure system development. Haven't heard any weather station mention the tides in Ft. Myers, Charlotte Harbor, and/or Tampa Bay. With the lower winds, the tides may not be all that formidable or threatening.

It's like betting on a football game, except we're not sure who the players are, we don't know what the team's game plans are, we don't know where it's going to be held, or what the weather is going to be. We know in general when it will be, but not exactly, or if all the players will show up. But we all have tickets to watch the game if and when it happens. 😀

The American computer models, which have been more accurate than the European models in the last four years, do not show it hitting southwest Florida directly. It's more towards the center of the state, passing to the northeast, and becoming a hurricane in the Atlantic.

I would say if by tonight thier is no formation/organization of eye walls no way would florida feel hurricane winds ..... maybe some gust of winds that are close or hurricane level but looks like a tropical storm if it even gets to that . unless it slows down today or a new center forms not much change will happen. it needs more time over water.

Everything you say does not really matter because there is a 95% chance that you will be wrong since every meteorologist in Florida cannot predict weather. Every day in the summer at about 3pm the weather app says 100% rain for 4 hours straight and lasts 12 minutes. We get nothing. It's ridiculous. How can your predictions be so far off? I think Ocala is an anomaly in weather storms go around us.
