Sim card - Step step 6 worked for me... I just put me battery back in, pressed down a little on the sim card and turned my phone back on... Perfect! TY
Sweet, the paper under the sim card solution worked! I am back in business. It was definitely too loose in there. I ripped off 4 tiny pieces of a post-it note and stuck them on top of the SIM and then had to take a piece of masking tape to secure SIM slot so it wouldn't slide out.
Dippy D bro i founded that after i installed custom rom my IMEI number is losted so when i type *#06# imei does not displayed on the screen and just one button shows on the screen which is"OK" button . i triend my best to restor(write) imei number on my phone but because of MTKcheapset i can't because samsung galexy note 2 mobile has NO mtkcheapset so we can't make changes in imei settings. that's all my bro😢😭😭

If anyone was wondering what my initial problem was it was that from time to time i would get service but alot of the time it would just cut off and when i tried to call someone would say " not registered on network" to solve this i used number 2. This started to happen on my phone after it dropped in milk.

Switching to CDMA is the only Preferred network mode that clears the error on my S4 with Sprint. Going back to Auto caused the error to return. I hope CDMA does not limit my service in some way. Thank you for your video that led me to this solution. FYI, I replaced the SIM tray as many have suggested, and it made no difference.
Well that did not last long. On my first incoming call, it dropped, the phone said SIM error, and now changing the Preferred Network mode has no effect on the SIM card error :(
The last one worked with me, I was not able to do other ones without the SIM. But we should be aware of putting the paper over the SIM and insert them both together carefully :)X Thanks

Thank you very much, your explanations are very clear. In my case, I had, by mistake, my second SIMcard on (that I use in Vietnam), at the same time than my french SIM card. When I turned it off from the sim card manager, the french one could be registered.

4:35-4:45 removed cover and held pressure on sim card while booting, helped the phone finally read my sim. Now looking to find a way to keep pressure on with cover on.

I encounter this issue last week on my note 8. I tried everything I can find on the internet but nothing works. Lastly, I try to swap the sim card location from sim1 to sim2 and managed to solve the issue 😁.
Thanks man! I folded a little piece of paper and slid it in along with the Sim card. Apllied pressure to the card while turning on the phone and bingo!!! problem solved.
My sim stopped working out of the blue! None of those worked because it's not my phone that's the problem, i tried the sim on 3 other devices and all couldn't detect it.
