Politics is good vs bad to win over the nation Military is quality vs quantity to win over the battle theater so even with a higher quantity production can the quality match it’s limited counterparts as we see in Russia even the quality of soldiers matter more than the quantity take a look at Halo 5 Guardians, the 4 runners is what they call ‘em qualified Spartans vs a few thousand obviously outnumbered but the went through the whole game while probably millions have died by their hands. Just sayin quality not quantity. The quality of our 4th gen fighters vs 5th gen
The reckless optimists on this comment board creep me out--I hope they don't have any influence in the U.S. defense establishment. They rather remind me of those dolts who insisted it couldn't have been the Japanese who carried out that attack on Pearl Harbor, it must have been German pilots in those Japanese planes, and what about those cheap Japanese goods exported to the U.S. in the 20s and 30s? They were crap, so Japanese military equipment must be crap. The optimists were, of course, humiliated by actual events, and huge numbers of good people died because of it. Hope for the best, folks, but prepare for the worst.
Agree, but I will still mock the Chinese Arms just to annoy them. They're easily triggered and funny. But of course still prepare for the worse. Even quantity can outnumber the quality. Nazi Germany experienced it against the Soviet Union.
US doesn't produce the brain power to keep pace with future Chinese developments. Look at the universities, all foreigners in engineering, physics, chemistry advanced degree programs.
Reading some of these comments, I think it's dangerous to underestimate any opponent, especially when it comes to something as serious and deadly as war. Of course, the Russian military did not prove to be as... potent as many had thought and feared, but it's better to find out during the conflict that your opponent is weaker than you rather than just assuming so. Chinese fighter jets seem to be well-designed and on par with many Western jets. Even if they're slightly less capable than Western fighter aircraft, sufficient numbers may still be enough to keep up with their Western counterparts. I was China, I would not underestimate the US Air Force and if I was the USA, I would not underestimate the Chinese Air Force
I think that if China has a weakness, it would be the culture of corruption. Russia HAD a huge inventory of stuff, but corruption turned those stockpiles into liabilities. While I expect some of China's gear to be pretty decent, the big question is whether their logistics are in good health. Say, to ensure their amphibious troops can land on a certain piece of land without sinking midway, or finding their rifles firing blanks. If I were a member of USA's intelligence bloc, I would be keeping an eye on whether China is reforming their logistic chain to resist corruption. That would indicate whether China is serious about conquering Taiwan, or is just a papyrus tiger.
@@NoumenonAndPhenomenon Do you think China is completely ignoring what's going on in Ukraine. I'm sure they are studying it in great detail, and parades are not a sign of weakness. If that were the case we would have been considered weak if Trump had his way. "Their premiere J-20 outdoing the F-22's peak production numbers" I'll be honest, given how limited the F-22's production numbers were, that isn't particularly impressive. If they can beat the F-16's production numbers, THEN I'll be impressed, because they crank those things out like crazy.
The problem is China's rather lacking industrial foundation, there are a lot of components that China either has difficulties making with a reasonable budget or simply cannot make themselves, and thus need to be imported, but these components are considered military grade hardware and can only be imported en mass from a handful of countries like Russia. Sometimes I wonder if Russia and China's combined can even keep up with this level of production rate. You can output J-20s and J-16s as fast as F-16s but it won't work if most of them cannot get their engines.
@@michaelwen5540 Yeah that's another thing. Building these jets is one thing. Keeping up the supplies of parts for maintenance and refit, especially when they have to be flying constantly to maintain pilot familiarity, is an entirely different beast, as Russia has demonstrated with the dismal performance of its air force against Ukraine.
@@michaelwen5540 Their "One Industry, One Enterprise" attempt at making mega-monopolies I think is their attempt at fixing this. But I expect it to go terribly bad for them since it doesn't fix the underlying reason they have so much money embezzled/improperly invested: relational corruption and failing upwards because said relational corruption. They are just going to make officials even more rich.
Very good coverage, and a lot of vital info and imagery here. Though one has to wonder what the PLA's Pilot numbers and training hours are like now. You can build all the Jets you want, but without sufficient Staff they're just gonna be grounded anyway.

Perun did A very technical video on the Chinese modernization, comparing budget, industry, and PPP of China, US and multiple other countries. It can be morning for some, but very detailed and insightful.
You're comparing production numbers from China, to USAF deliveries of planes. US is also producing way more F-35s for its allies, like japan (23+120 future), south korea (40) which the US would never go to war without. Yes china's numbers are quite impressive for just one country, but it's still nowhere near enough to match a realistic setting.
actually he's comparing the planes delivered to the chinese military to the planes delivered to the usa military. and the total numbers for each military. however many planes they sell to other countries is 100% irrelevant.
@@sabin97 Actually really not irrelevant, since the video literally has 'production rates' in the title. Why not compare production numbers? It's misleading in this instance. China nearly 100% produces for its own military, and then it's compared to delivery numbers of the US forces. I'm not trying to shill for the US & allies, I just think the basis of comparison for this video is flawed.
@@broworm1 oh yes. the title says "production rates" but the video is NOT about production rates, but about the rates of acquisition. yeah. the name doesnt make the thing. for example there's a country named the people's democratic republic of korea. it has "democratic" in the name. and yet it's not democratic. so yeah. the thing being compared in this video is the rate of acquisition of the chinese military vs the rate of acquisition of the usakistani military. that's why usakistan and china plane sales are not used. hopefully that cleared that up.
When Blinkov said China's expanding floor space he didn't give much context so it's understandable to not appreciating it's implications. To put things into perspective, almost all F-35s are currently assembled at the massive USAF Plant 4 in Fort Worth, Texas. At the same time, just the expansion at China's Chengdu plant over the last 4 years totalled the an area larger than the entire USAF Plant 4, you can see this cleary using Google Earth historical imagery. And that's in addition to the equally massive expansion at Shengyang. In other words, in the last 4 years China added 1.5x to 2x more fighter production capacity than the entire US F-35 production capacity, that's in addition to previous capacity, and those plants are just starting to ramp up. This is naval shipbuilding all over again, planes are harder to count than ships but even then this massive expansion is going to become very obvious in a few years.

What? Threatening people is worse than literally killing millions now?
But does the U.S have an ongoing genocide in their borders though? Also, that's a false equivalency, the Middle Eastern conflicts the U.S waged are very different in justification and intentions than the conflict the Chinese keep boasting about starting and winning in Taiwan.
I remember back in 2006 when the F22 contract was cut way back. I was working for a defense subcontractor. We were deeply affected. The excuse was we had the F15 and no one had anything close and we would just never need a fighter like the F22 because no one would ever catch up to us as it was. I was shocked at the stupidity. That was exactly the attitude we had in the 1930s. We had the lead in aircraft technology. By WWII Europe and Japan had left us behind. I grew up listening to people who fought and lived through that war. We could have lost. It was dicey at best at the beginning. Many of the early battles could have gone the other way, and it would have been bad or worse for us. Those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
pior to ww2, the US industrial capacity was nearly 10x of Japan, they just had a couple more rounds of practice before attacking the US. The US wouldn't lost that war either way. pior to ww2, japan did surprise attack to Qing dynasty and Russia, both were larger and stronger than Japan, however Japan won both by luck. That gave Japan so much confident, thought they could repeat the success.😂
Because the F22 combat range very short, only 800km, so it is useless except in european countries that US has a lot of allies. Air tank is not stealth, they can revealed the f22 very easy and f22 skin is outdated, it peels after several hours mission. Today technology, the stealth skin is direct painted. F22 is not in the competition, and i will say it is defect aircraft (except for balloon purpose)

Don’t worry. The West is just more experienced in dropping bombs and flying their planes over countries with no modern Air defence, Air Force, and radars. China is not very experienced but they do not have the mentality of underestimating competitors.
I'm not as modest as you, j20 is the best fighter in the world, f22 is not bad but at least not comparable to j20. It's just that the US controlled public opinion doesn't want to admit it. Look at this blogger's map of China and you'll know all about it.

Another great video Binkov. You know, the bean counting game has always fraught with pitfalls. I think it’s a great indicator of a country’s economic potency (ie: to just build) and to a lesser degree, a country’s future intent. I do think China will attain parity with the US in terms of yearly production, but I don’t think the US in the short or medium term is interested in keeping a production gap over China. Operative Challenge for the US is to replace that aging F15 fleet to the EX standards so they can get greater operability with the F-35s, so that it excels at what is what meant to do, which is relay battle space info to frontline assets. Whether the USAF is granted the budget to do that is well..up to congress. Operative challenge for China is based on whether their young indigenous platforms are a capable enough counter to US platforms in the region and whether whatever doctrine they pursue is successfully conducive to whatever their future intentions are in the region.

I think that some people don't understand what a war between China and the US would entail. The two biggest economic superpowers and the 2 most advanced and powerful military powers going to war would not be like the Gulf War or the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, virtually everyone would be effected. China has the economic influence and financial assets to send the whole world into an economic crisis, fuel shortages, food shortages, the hundreds of billions of dollars that they invest around the world each year, the collapse of the tourist industry that relies on the millions of Chinese tourists spending billions, the shops would be empty, the prices of anything that was available would skyrocket, the international stock markets would collapse, raw materials and manufactured goods would be hard to get, inflation, mass unemployment, etc etc. Those would be the economic consequences. Then the military consequences would be hard to comprehend, they have the technology, industrial capabilities and the raw materials and assets needed to fight a prolonged war, they have a huge navy, airforce and land force, backed up by nuclear weapons and paramilitary forces. Actually defeating China in their own region would not be guaranteed by any means and a definite victory over China would be almost impossible in my opinion. So before anyone gets angry because their country is going to have to accept that China and the rest of the world has the same rights to succeed as the western world, its much better to have a prosperous China, creating wealth by trading with the world, than trying to provoke an unwinnable war with a economic and military superpower.
Although China has the right to succeed economically the western world isn’t going to sit by and allow them to do it through unfair business practices. Such as undercutting western competition by subsidizing its companies so they can sell their products cheaper and theft of intellectual property so less money is spent on research and development. This second point extends to the Chinese military. They are always one generation of weapons behind the US. By the time they get their hands on US weapons designs and start processing those platforms the US is already in the process of developing and producing the next generation. If China and the US go to war they both will lose along with the rest of the world. One can only pray such a conflict would stay conventional. For the US it will mean a heavily depleted military and a nation that will take several decades to rebuild. For China it will likely be a total collapse of the CCP and an even longer recovery period than the US. No one wins.

Well uh... I remember that analysts tend to look for signs in production when it comes to preparation for war. This kind of sounds like they're gearing up for it.
please keep in mind that a lot of their older planes are becoming increasingly obsolete. So production is likely from replacements and not preparation for a massive war.
They already have an operational prototype. Europe says they're gonna have a prototype for theirs in 9 years. So china is still 5 years behind those. It takes time to make cheap counterfeits of other countries intellectual properties.
China is producing around 20 stealth fighters each year, while the US is building 150 F35 each year, and the US is building F18, F15, and F16 with record breaking production rate in the near future. So, no, China hasn't came near to the US production, let alone catching up the fleet sizes.
@@CircusJeanie2399 because the data in the video are false. Especially after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, a lot of Chinese aviation parts came from Ukraine and Russia, Chinese fighter jets production will be significantly delayed. The video significantly overstated the Chinese production while underestimated the US expansions in fighter production.
"a lot Of Chinese aviation parts came from Russian and Ukraine". So you are basically living in the 2000s?The only part came from Russia and Ukraine was aeroengine, and even that ended in 2018,when China started to produce domestic ws engines.
China's previously limited production capacity was due to barriers in sourcing advanced engines. Now that WS-10 is fully mature and ready for mass production, China is able to scale up plane production by double or even triple the initial rate.
@Brent Reid I don't know about three fold crashes, but there has been an uptick in crashes. Flight training hours have more than doubled in the past 10 years for PLAAF combat pilots. The type of training conducted also changed from simple flight training to more dangerous and complex combat maneuvers involving multiple units and plane types. Unless you're implying something else?
I think it's relevant to consider that the J-20 is more on par with the F-35, being a multi-role, BVR focused 'fighter', and not a stealthy air-superiority dog-fighter like the F-22 is. China still has nothing close to the F-22, and is likely also a generation if not more behind in air-superiority tactics and institutional knowledge.
Jesus sometimes people like you make me speechless, you watch military channels all the time you still don't know J-20 is NOT a multirole fighter? It only got one role that's sniping high value aircrafts with long range missiles, it's like the most basic knowledge it renders everything else you say pointless.

@@qwertyqwerty-zi6dr yeah that too! My point was that "we" barely made any f22s so it's not an accomplishment to have more of something that we do f22s. Lol. What was it like 160 or 190?basically 1 years worth of production of f35s. But yeah I don't think we have to be airframe geniuses to see that a f22 would easily own j20s. I still think there is alot of the Russia thing going on here too with most of the Chinese stuff. It sounds great... Like what they tell the world and the little we see... But it probably all sucks beyond our wildest imaginations. Lol
Its relevant to consider that while the jets are being produced en-masse. It doesnt translate to true force projection. They're still far behind in both numbers and quality of air power. And sea power vessels are laughable in capability. Its not really relevant since its not like the US wants to fight china, we know we'd win conventional conflicts just from the sheer difference in levels of actual combat capability in our force structures. That doesnt mean to say China doesnt have quality forces or capability, but its been well proven what we can do and what chinese forces can do. Now in a couple decades or more that could be very different. But technology is rapidly taking over in many areas so its almost pointless to speculate. The standards of "force projection" may very well be talking about entirely different parameters like Drones and AI and other weapon systems and not the traditional ones we think of right now. Satelites, Drones, biological weapons and other tech will be the weapons of true comparison in future years in my opinion.
Another thing. While war simulation games are fun. Lets keep in mind that we shouldnt WANT to be adversaries without an actual reason. So far China has not taken military action on Taiwan and hopefully that remains true. Or on India or Japan. As long as they do not strike against allies, there is still room and time to repair any damaged relations. This of course could be implausible, but its better than senseless War that no one wants.
Im half chinese, but i kinda want to see the us be more powerful lol. Whether what you say is true or not, the fact is… china is catching up. Which is scary.
@@Ahhh1 The unfortunate truth is that the US will not remain where we are at depending on what tech is introduced in the future. My timetable is a very hazardous guestimate since we dont actually know what the US government has in the "back room" so to speak. And the same is true for china and russia. I'm assuming (with what we do know) that we will have the edge and advantage with military experience and power for many years. But traditional forces that we excel in will not be as important as drones and AI become more advanced along with new ways to project force through internet and satelite advances. Even our sea based advantages which we have almost exclusive control over wont remain that way for long as weapons become smaller - but more powerful in unmanned capacities. The truth is that the US needs help in the future. And if peace is to prevail, it is without a doubt going to have to be joint efforts to deter strong powers from pushing their weight on weaker countries without total war. The days of US supremacy are going away. The days of any single country having global dominance are probably done. We had a good run but times change and the best we can do is recognize the US absolute power is not going to remain. And to adapt to what the world will be like and hopefully set the stage for a more peaceful coexistence as society (hopefully) progresses to more intelligence and reason.
@@zoka7108 I might have exaggerated a bit. But in comparison to what US ships are capable of (not even counting the Aircraft carrier fleets) it is not in China's favor by even the most generous estimates.
According to a recent report by ASPI on Critical Technology Tracker, China is now the world leader in 37 of the 44 separate sectors of technological development and research in the world, and is second place in many others. This is something to consider when it comes to which side has the technological edge. The US is rapidly losing its advantage in technology to China. Another thing to remember is just how powerful the Chinese economy now is, its already $19 trillion per year, and growing around 5/6% each year (they add the equivalent of the whole Italian economy to their own GDP each year). They have massive industrial capabilities and a lot of money to spend on defence, their defence spending is much lower percentage wise of their GDP than the US and less than most European countries, yet they are able to spend $250+ billion dollars on military equipment and defence per year, which means that they could easily ramp up the percentage of defence expenditure quickly.

I think it's important to pay attention to anyone, but chinese tech is not so good. Poor and low quality.

You're comparing production numbers from China, to USAF deliveries of planes. US is also producing way more F-35s for its allies, like japan (23+120 future), south korea (40) which the US would never go to war without.
Yes china's numbers are quite impressive for just one country, but it's still nowhere near enough to match a realistic setting.

and the total numbers for each military.
however many planes they sell to other countries is 100% irrelevant.
@@sabin97 Actually really not irrelevant, since the video literally has 'production rates' in the title. Why not compare production numbers? It's misleading in this instance. China nearly 100% produces for its own military, and then it's compared to delivery numbers of the US forces.

that's why usakistan and china plane sales are not used.
hopefully that cleared that up.
No offense but yes I would rather have the U.S quality made jets rather than a quantity of Tofu fighter jets.

@@Saleemsan most of the post modern war are not about enemies. Its all about money conflict. Some believe both can win win in money, some believe one will win while the other will lose in money.

Besides, it's not like China is fighting us in a complete vacuum, they have to deal with India, Japan, and SK if all out war breaks out, and to my mind, the number of Raptors the USAF has isn't going to be relevant, so long as they are up-to-date.

Yeah that was the thing about the whole "World's largest air force" trope that China was always supposed to have had for a long time.
Having planes doesn't mean having them operational.
And proper training for pilots.
How long has it been since Binkov did a country vs. country video?
OH NO the J-20 overtook the F22 production numbers????? Lol... you mean that aircraft that the US basically made none of....
Who cares when j20 will never see f22 raptor on radar and it will be snipped ez by raptor..
Lol
Its relevant to consider that while the jets
are being produced en-masse.
"sea power vessels are laughable in capability. "
You need to update your knowledge. You are 15 years behind. It will take some time
@@zoka7108 I might have exaggerated a bit. But in comparison to what US ships are capable of (not even counting the Aircraft carrier fleets) it is not in China's favor by even the most generous estimates.

Latest data from China indicates 160 J-20 has been delivered of 450 ordered
