  • Award winning author, director, and activist Kimberly Jones, whose How Can We Win? video went viral following the death of George Floyd, joins the David Banner Podcast this week speaking truth to power. Kimberly reveals what inspired her viral video and unapologetically breaks down her take on black on black crime, the economic history of Blacks in America and how we can win. She opens up about the special co-parenting relationship she shares while raising her son, her journey as a director and writer, as well as her upcoming novel and retreats to bring healing to our people.

Her Monopoly analogy with spot-on!! She mentioned some powerful points about how we tried our very best in history to gain economic wealth within our community and each time we did so, they destroyed it

Oh. . .my. . .God! This young woman is SOOO POWERFUL! Admittedly, I am one of those black people (though not wealthy) saying that the looters and rioters are not helping the cause , but after listening to what she had to say, it brought me to tears. I never looked at it from that perspective. The way that she used the game of monopoly as a metaphor for the history of oppression in this country was POTENT and POWERFUL. How unstoppable and powerful the next generation would be if every young black student were to be given that exact speech in Junior High School. What would those students be inspired to go out into the world and do?

I feel your resentment on the versus, but it was something that saved the culture during that pandemic. IMO, it kept people busy, it was fun, and kept artists engaged with their fans.

Banner's right , if black people loved themselves is the question to ask self. Then, put our energy into healing and our enlightenment. This is spiritual warfare and we have already won, know that! I appreciate my sisters perspective. Peace & Power
