Best tutorial ever! I searched for this tutorial on all interner! =D i'm from romania and no one already post a tutorial like this! Thank You very much! I love You!
Wow, thanks! Like others have said, I could not find anything like this anywhere. Just replaced a tube on my rear tire and think I may have depressed the brake pedal. Road around and my rear disc was so hot! I was also going to take it to a shop, but I found this and thank you, thank you! I subscribed to your channel.
You the man thanks brother , I was calling dirt bike dealerships and they were saying I’m gonna have too pay some fee too even look at it , and I helped me do it myself in less than 5 min🙏👍🏼🎉
Hie Vijay. Great trick. I replaced front brake pads on my bike and had a hard time pushing those pistons back in. However, all other channels like revzilla tells us to remove the calliper from brake assembly and then start the work. I did the same. I think in that case this neat trick does not come in mind. They use sheer strength, using older pads to push the pistons in. I tried the same thing and it took a lot of time.
I want to give you the biggest thankyou someone ever deserved, man I have been struggling since a week and due to my busy schedule I was not okey to take to a shop , now I just got to wake up an hr early , thanks a lot
Yo I just want to say thank you cuz me and my kids spent 5 hrs trying to figure this out and why the breaks weren’t staying...much love and God bless you in Jesus name!!!
This is the best way of pushing the pistons back (all pro mechanics do it like that). Do not ever use something like a screwdriver as you might damage or warp the rotor..
Ohh damn bro..I was beating the callipers in with a screw driver and hammer although the blow was soft.. And then this UA-cam thing hit me🤣🤣 You can't imagine how much i am thankful to you...👍👍👍
*Front Brakes* - I was in this same shitty situation, but with my front brakes - dual pistons on both sides - which had nothing to compress on the sides of the calipers, unlike in this video. I had no C-clamp, not even long-jawed pliers. What I did was bolt the top of the caliper assembly *slanted to the side* into only *one* bolt hole, which left the bottom of the caliper sticking off to the side. I made sure it cleared the brake rotor (ie wasn't resting against it) and tightened that one bolt as much as I safely could. That anchored the caliper assembly off to the side so I could use a metal lever (I used the closed side of ordinary pliers). It worked great, but brake oil spilled out of the open front brake reservoir at the handlebars, which I'd opened because another online source said it was necessary to get the pistons to move (WRONG - it wasn't necessary. All it did was lower my brake fluid amount and make a mess). It got even worse - when moving one piston at a time, the other piston on the same side came further out - one of them popped completely out, leaking more brake fluid (preventive solution - Slip in a metal plate so you can simultaneously lever both pistons on one side). Now I had *no* front braking power, because I had no brake fluid at home to top off the reservoir. The one fortunate thing was that, as with most motorcycles, my front and rear brakes were separate systems with separate reservoirs, so I could still use my *rear* brake (going heavy on engine braking for extra safety) to get to a store to buy brake fluid. I decided not to use the recommended emergency substitute for brake fluid - a mixture of 60% dishwashing liquid and 40% water. It was tempting, but I read that in order to get your brakes fully normal again, you have to flush the brake lines, then add new brake fluid, then replace *that* fluid with newer brake fluid after a 100 miles or so. I hope this helps save you from going through all that yourself.
Vijay Hansora i own rc200 and recently I started doing periodic service changes on my own, but when i supposed to change breakpads my enthusiastic brain asked me to press the break to see what happens ... kabooom😆😆... tried 2-3 hrs to bring back the piston to its position.... failed!! . searched all over internet but no luck.... Almost hired a tempo truck to drop my vehical at showroom to fix it... but Luckily ended up watching your video. Thanks again mate❤️.
2 possible things. 1. For delivery they applied polish and that affects braking and 2. It takes little time for brake pad to bead in. And also note rear brake is very slow and progressive only. Don't expect bite like front.
Gr8 video...also if possible, make a video for brake bleeding...my rs200 has got air in front brake lever... I tried to remove it but it wasn't successful.
Meet Sheth open the master cylinder and keep hitting the rubber hose and you will see very tiny bubbles surfacing. Keep doing this till you feel the lever is hard
It's the same for all bikes. But avoid getting into that situation as in case if the calipers have dust it may take more force which can have bad effect on disc
Some moron stole my rear brake clips while i parked my bike in town...i was lucky that the shaft hadn't fallen untill i reached home..& these parts are also not available in the service centre...bajaj got to do something about it..
it is more easy if you bleed out the brake fluid. see that little tube on the upper right? turn it counter clockwise then you can easily push the piston back inside. beware of the brake fluid that will burst out from the bleeder tube.
You are correct but this video was for few who do not have expertise in bleeding as it is not a easy task any mistake they may loose the fluid and can cause issue if not done correctly hence i wanted to show safest and easy way to do this.
Welcome. In case of extreme jam a little wd40 can help to release but later you need to use some brake cleaner to remove the residue of wd40. I am glad this video was useful to you. Please do consider subscribing 🙏
This one mistake ruined my bike's breaking system, i went to a local machanic and he opened the whole calliper and and he hit the piston by hammer to put it back. By doing these things he leaked all break fluid too. And since then my bike's rear break doesn't work the way it used to. I went to RE authorised service centre and some other machanics too but no luck they are unable to understand the problem. They don't even know how to do break bleeding properly.
Looks like it's still rubbing bad, how do you fix that? As that is what I'm trying to find. Do I need to take it apart and re install? I can't get the pads from rubbing on the caliper
Hey Vijay , I was wondering where I can get the new ECU 116 update for my Dominar in Bengaluru . And also do you recommend removing the DB killer for a better sound instead of putting a filter /after market exhaust which may or may not cause harm to the engine on a long run .
chidroop sagar if your bike is new then you may probably have updated one. If not then ask Service centre to confirm the same. For the sound I don't recommend removing anythkng. But it may be your choice but it ain't gonna sound good.
Hi. Need a lil help here! I got a 05 650. No brakes so I did all new calipers. Still no brakes. Just replaced master cylinder still no lock. Handle still don't seem to be doing much. Pretty lose goes all the way in! Any ideas what it might be? Thanks
The only reason this will happen is pure oil pressure. There is surely some air pockets causing this. I faced the same. I did a complete bleeding of oil and it took a day or 2 to come to proper pressure.
See there are two things to keep in mind. First The rear brakes are always weaker than the front brakes as per design 2nd if you feel the brak performance is not as before please check my video on how to fix rear brake issue and also check your pad and there is another video on when to replace the disc rotor and also bleed your brake oil and replace it during service. If the brake is same as before but your feel it's weak then do basic or buy EBC pads which will give more bite having said that the ABS will engage more frequently if your rear is locking due to the good bite.
@@rossfripp4503 To be quite honest if i understand correctly if it is a flat direct mount. You can slide the caliper assembly side to side horizontally so this would be difficult. However using some flat tool or pry tool you may be able to separate the calipers on the Shimano. Sorry to disappoint but never had my hands on one of those.
No just service the caliper. Over a period dust and rust can create this issue. If you are a DIY guy then service it or else give it to mechanic also check the price of caliper so if it is cheap then yes replacement will be better fo future. But first figure out what is the problem don't start replacing stuff you might lose money there
Bro so is it that you dont have to take out the whole system to change your brake pads? Jus follow this procedure? But why meachnics would take out the whole stuff to fit in new pads?

There are times the pressure and dust accumulation and other factors can cause a problem but ideally it should work fine.
This trick works only for a floating caliper type brake...not the type with pistons on both the sides
