How the Soda Cap is Made | Inside the Factory
In this video we will show you the step by step of how the soda cap, or PET bottle cap, is made.
Let's start with the cover printing, where brands such as Coca Cola, Guaraná, Pepsi, etc. highlight your logos and messages.
Initially, PET bottle caps are transported via a vertical conveyor to a cylinder, where they are loaded for printing.
In the cylinder, a buckling is done so that the ink sticks to the plastic. Buckling causes the molecules to dilate and thus increase the adhesion of the print.
A set of rotary printing equipment is used. It is the fastest and most accurate way for this process. In the video, 3 sets are presented, where each set prints a specific color and design.
A new post-print treatment with buckling is done again.
Ink drying is done using an infrared ray.
The counting of caps is done using photocells.
For the manufacture of PET bottle caps, the indicated process is Continuous Compression Molding.
From the extrusion of a composite of plastic resins, the sludge is expelled and inserted into the mold cavities. In this way, the cap is formed at this point.
The production capacity varies according to the composition of the plastic and the geometry of the cap.
This production process is much more efficient than plastic injection.
