Everything is about race and every minority is a victim.

There are black people who enjoy swimming, but it doesn't help when most of them think swimming is a 'white only' activity.

I am deeply confused. If I am ignorant please forgive me. I am a 57 year old black British man and can swim. Most of my black friends can swim. We had lessons every week in school. The pools were free or cheap in the holidays. My cousin's in the Carribbean can swim. Why is this a black problem? How many black people have drowned in the last 10 years? If people can't swim it's coz they don't prioritize it. Like I can't golf or play football. I don't like them. End of. If people drown that's sad but hey that's life. Tired of this BS.

Black people probably don't have family members that swim so is going to get passed onto different generations that they do not know how to swim.
Whatever race you are swimming is a life saver. How did you learn when you was younger a family member helped you out

That is why people need to know how to swim. So that they are respectful of (but not afraid of) water, and so they do not drown. It should not be scary to learn in the shallow end of a pool where one can easily stand up. The ability to swim is a fundamental life skill that every person should possess.

If the teachers and parents aren't teaching the kids how to swim. Why is this a surprise ? My family are Caribbean, I grew up in London, growing up I was taught how to swim through school. Every week the teachers would take the whole class swimming in a local sports centre (Bethnal Green York Hall Swimming Baths) I was taught the basics, even now as an adult I feel comfortable swimming in a pool or in the sea.

Thank you! Exact same experience. It's just not a big deal for some. How many black people drown? If the women don't wanna mess up their hair that's on them.

Boohoo... I don't go 100m running, train at heavyweight boxing or go to hip-hop clubs because I'd stand out like a sore thumb with my colour but I don't make a big issue about it!
