Thank you so much for this content! I'm a Product Designer from Portugal and I work at a small startup. It's exactly as Audrey described :) I have to do a little bit of everything, sometimes I wish I had the time to organize, to reflect a little more.. I love to work across everything but right now I feel that I need to work at a bigger company to learn more (about the processes). I've started my career solo and I feel that I don't have the right amount of know-how to be the only designer at a company.
Such an insightful and interesting conversation! Working at a small company, I can agree with a lot of what Audrey described, and I also got some inspiration from hearing her! The pros and cons of both sizes are well laid out. Thank you both!
"Jack/Jane of all trades, master of none but oftentimes better than a master of one" the full quote is usually truncated which changes up the meaning a bit.
Very timely I just finished my UX Design internship this week looking to see what type of company I would like to be at next. Thanks for the livestream. Enjoyed hearing your guys experiences!
Heyy, thank you so much for sharing your experiences and insights on working as a designer in different types of company. You helped me understand what may be the best for my growth. I worked in smaller company and almost instantly realised that I don't have enough experience and know-how to work as the only designer in a huge project. Thanks so much! :D
First of all i love your content Femke!! 🙌🏽i always take something very useful to apply in my process, so Thanks! and also in this video i would like to highlight something very interesting that Audrey (which it was great to listen her experience too) said here at 31:55 , is really important to let us know why we did not get selected and what can we improve so for the next company that we apply, we consider it 🙂I think giving these feedback help both the interviewer and the designer who didn't get the job, because also the industry it gets better and better with better designers 🙌 🙌 Blessings!
