Jack Bauer always raising the steaks. We love you kiefer.
Who doesn't love this guy? 24 one of the best programs ever and the steak looks delicious.
*facepalm* That was good. Young guns like you are quick wits.
😄
That's a horrible pun. I'm so jealous that you thought of it first...
@@tmseh damn, this place is slowly turning into ground zero .
When he said: "I cook my steak for seven and a half minutes" I was expecting a very dramatic timer.
Lol
I find it ironic that this comment has 24 likes as I say this. Out of respect, I'm keeping it that way lol
@@dudefood825 well, someone has ruined the comment by making it 25 likes
Never thought I would see one of Hollywoods bad boys from back in the day giving cooking tips! I love it and appreciate this side of you Keifer. Been a fan for years. Hope to see more.
Can’t even say how much I loved this video!
He is soooooo adorable!
I could literally watch him watching paint dry all day - and still enjoy it! His narration was absolutely soothing & captivating!
😊❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Seeing Jack Bauer cooking, wearing glasses and an oven mitt is priceless. I have loved KS since 1987.
A tip that’s worked well for me is to let your meat come to room temp (30-40 min) before the sear. That way the meat doesn’t seize up and you get a beautiful crust. Also, put those herbs to good use! Melt some butter in the pan with the herbs and baste your steak after that initial sear. Baste baste baste. Really enjoyed your video.
Shut the fuck up. Just high heat for a good sear you fucking noob.
Bringing the steaks to room temp first does next to nothing for promoting a good sear. Getting a good sear is all about heat transfer to the surface of the steak and the interior temp of the steak doesn't really matter as much. What matters more, is starting with a steak that has a surface that is as dry as possible. It takes a lot more energy (and therefore time) to boil off surface water than it does to just raise the temp of the water in the steak several tens of degrees. Water retards the Maillard reaction, making it take hours rather than minutes, so you need to either dry the steak off or cook off the water before you can get a good sear.
@@txxmiles2974 im a fucking chef and you know nothing.
@@julianedgar7491 Anger issues much? The guy simply said what works for him and you attacked him...jesus....
Thanks for the insight Jon. I’m just a home cook and it worked for me. I do dry my steaks but I will certainly try your tips the next time I make a steak.
Now Big Boss is cooking. Great stuff.
Yeah, imagine the diamond dogs mess hall team watching in awe and taking notes 😁
Kaz will get him to make the burgers for him.

I've watched so many videos like this. This is the first one where I find it hard to concentrate on your cooking because of how incredibly awesome your kitchen is. Thank you for sharing this, I cook for young kids too!

really love seeing more and more celebs creating UA-cam channels. Great job on the video - so fun to watch!
I love watching you cook and you have a very calming voice, and your dog is a sweetheart.
This is Awesome. Love the helpful tips. Please continue these videos.
He needs his own cooking channel. This was delightful. It felt like cooking ASMR, and I'm here for it!
Merry Christmas Rachel!
I loved the slow motion attack of the aluminum foil. All jokes aside, it is so relaxing to watch him in the kitchen, the lighting, his soothing voice, and the natural everyday-ness of it all.
This is the greatest thing online. Love it!! Keep em coming Kiefer
Love how you're so neat and tidy while cooking.
Jknews and Steve Green brought me here.
So, while we’re all going through this quarantine. How about some more cooking !! So fun watching them!! And thank you!
I was so into this, I could swear I smelled the steak when you turned it over! I love how calm and methodical you are.
“Jack Bauer” cooks steak 😃 There are no ‘recipes’- cook from the heart, love the food you’re making, if you’re cooking for others, the reward (as a parent) is their enjoyment of your creation. There’s no need to be nervous, you did really well 😊
His kitchen is beautiful! 💝

His wife’s
Chris E. ..True. Lol
That is my dream kitchen. The island with the sink is unbelievably handy and that stove is really nice.
My son's are excellent grill masters and also have cooked steak on the stove room perfection! Always fun to watch your videos! Thank-you😊
We are loving seeing you in the kitchen Kiefer! The wife is a hard core Young guns fan for over 20 years and still watches it on dvd from time to time! It is great to watch you, relaxed and cooking and we love the dog! Many blessings from Mid Wales UK.

@@peniledog Did you not finish the game? dumbass
You are my greatest inspiration. My wife and I are now watching 24. This is my 3rd marathon of 24 series. Done watching 2 seasons of Designated survivor. You are absolute genius in every department. Loved your acting, singing and cooking skills. Truly awesome. Love from Bangladesh.
As a Chef, I enjoy watching people who love food cook, and show how much they care about the products they cook as well. Great Kitchen set up as well man! For your pan, run the hot water until it is screaming hot and then put the pan under water, keeps it from warping.
This is so incredibly charming! I have been watching you my entire adult life and have loved your work, but this is the first time I have seen the real Kiefer.
I can't believe that I watch Jack Bauer cooking a steak. That's really unexpected. Btw thank you it was interesting and funny ! I hope we'll see more ;)
Beautiful kitchen, great knives, awesome recipe! Thanks for sharing.
Hope there’s a ton more cooking videos on the way, love watchin kiefer cook, can’t go even 24 hrs without one 💗
I had no idea this channel existed until today. Great video Kiefer! See ya on set sometime 👍😎
I just made a steak yesterday using this method. Thank you so much. I am learning! Brilliant idea use for the foil. I love using foil.
I know I like the use of foil too.
Hello Kiefer, tried this out for the first time and wasn’t disappointed! Thanks so much!
I have been cooking for many years an have been told I'm a wonderful cook that can an have cooked anything an everything But!! Simple cooking at times is the best ,easiest an very flavorful sn your videos are easy to follow for people just starting out to not be afraid to go for it in the kitchen...well done
I love Kiefer. He’s just a down to earth, good guy. Wish he was my neighbor.
That steak looked perfectly cooked. It is so cool to see the man behind one of the best characters of all time being just a normal guy cooking a steak. Totally awesome. I never missed an episode of 24.
Thank you Kiefer. Can’t wait to try it. And thank you for your music.
I love the fact, that you are such a clean person. Especially putting the foil down to reduce the mess/Clean up. I’ll be trying that this weekend, thank you.
Two words....cast iron.
Most non-stick skillets/pans don't like high heat and shouldn't be used in ovens.
Non stick pans have a smell when they get too hot! Beware of them!
@@jeaniedelgado687 That's because they can let off toxic fumes when subjected to high heat.
@@jeaniedelgado687 also give off toxins! Stainless steel always.
Why would anyone bother to transfer the pan into the oven? Just continue cooking the steak on the pan on a lower heat.
Agreed,
Awsome. Miss 24 like it's nobody's business. Keep them coming. Nothing beats a pan seared steak.
You are an incredible man. You act, you sing, and now you cook. Is there anything you can’t do? I love all of your movies (Lost Boys is #1). I would love to see a tour of your beautiful kitchen. Thank you for entertaining us for so many years and I hope many more to come ❤️❤️❤️
Yes, I too loved the foil trick! Your steak looked delish! And...you don't seem nervous at all; a natural. Thank you!
I love it! Huge Kiefer fan ❤️ Keep it up
When season 3 of designated survivor going on Netflix I really think you were amazing and I love your music
Thank you for this channel. I love to see you cook and I love your beautiful kitchen!
Beautiful kitchen. Nice layout. Thanks
Kiefer you're the best. From Jack Bauer to President Kirkman, we love you! And your steak.
Thanks for the video,
This is how I make my roast also. Killer flavor !
Steak looked nicely cooked and very tender..Thanks and I’ll give this a try
Keep posting more cooking videos, these are just great, Thanks!
That aluminum foil trick is a serious life hack, thanks buddy! 👍
YEP!
Aluminium foil or cookware has toxins when heated!
It's a serious waste. Particularly as it doesn't look like he recycles.
Britonbear as opposed to all the water and/or chemicals to remove grease stains?
@@deletedleaf2688Yes I think the cost of the manufacture/transport of the foil would outweigh a bit of soap and water.
He could at least re-use the foil a few times and then recycle it (although TBF he may not have access to recycling facilities being in the USA).
Just a suggestion I was told-don’t put hot pans in water when they are hot, it will warp them. Just a friendly FYI 👍🌸. Can’t wait to try your steak recipe, looks yummy 😜👏🏼
Only if you have cheap pans.
@@Bullock0099 Not true. Expensive pans warp too if going from really hot to cold.
K-thanks 🌸
Good tip. However, I suspect if it did warp he could afford a new skillet. Perhaps even an iron skillet. :)
@@MIKE-D158 He could afford a new kitchen.
Never thought of doing steak that way. We can’t wait to try it. It is really helpful to have ideas to make a simple, but elegant and healthy dinner as you have done. Thank you.
You would be a great teacher , love your calmness
Cooking by Kiefer??? A show I would watch...
Kiefer .. I do essentially the same but next time try this .. brush a thin layer of olive oil directly on the steak, use course sea salt instead on both sides .. but allow it to stay on the steak for 1 hour per 1". Not only does it enhance the flavor but it increases the steaks tenderness. Enjoy!
My favorite is Ribeye steak.
awesome video, I like when people show the easy way to cook things, especially steak, and not over do it
Loved it, Keiffer! Whole new world when you only get one take. I loved it. I'm subscribed.

OMG!!! OMG!!! As an Argentinean, die hard steak fan, and... as huge fan of you, this was the amazing UA-cam video I’ve seen this week! Loved it! Got the same stove but the shorter one, I really enjoyed it, although we don’t put anything other than salt... and I would have done 8 min! Take it outside, I’m sure you have a nice grill. THANK YOU. I just subscribed
Thanks Kiefer. Gonna give it a try. Looks fantastic!
Kiefer, since you're posting instructional/how to videos, do you think you'll ever post a guitar lesson video?
This video made me hungry, btw!
Thanks, Boss!
Hey Keifer thanks for sharing . I am going to try this tonight
I've been cooking all my life...hmmmm' about fifty years...I've learned a few tricks from you today...and the spoons' excellent idear'.... thank you, Keifer'.... by the way' love your singing also'... my husband and I cook together and have your music playing while we're enjoying our company together. Both go hand in hand...
good actor and good chef.. greetings from italy
This is a cooking mission boss
I have used the recipe for months since meeting him........it is my favorite. I live in a place that steaks bbq'd were not allowed, and thought that is the end of my steak days. This now is way better than bbq. It is the bomb.
Thank you for this, all very calming.
Omg mr.Kiefer Sutherland yes!!! Didnt even know you had your own channel. Love, love, love your work, my favorite actor of all times!!! I was just watching my favorite movie of you the other day "eye for an eye" tough tittie said tge kitty but the milk is still good. Lol. You sir are brilliant, love you!!!!! Sorry i know this is about steaks, which is great but im a huge fan since i was a kid!!! Im definitely subscribing!
You really should get some cast iron skillets....they are great for stuff like this!!!!
He's using carbon steel restaurant quality. It's as good as cast iron. You season them both the same way.
@@melissamcmillan8927 That looks like nonstick to me. Carbon steel skillets are a lot thinner like a wok.
wonder what kind/pan company does he use. Even the pans in Hell's Kitchen.
mrtyrang i don’t think non sticks can be put in the oven
@@chopzncutz Looks like an ICON carbon steel skillet.
I just want to thank you for taking your time to put these videos out. I can not good meat but you make it look so simple. My husband normally cooks the proteins and I do everything else, so this weekend I am going to try to cook a steak. Thank you
Thank you for sharing!
This video is amazing in the weirdest way....Gordon Ramsay eat your heart out
The man never ages, he looks better than the steak and that steak is gorg !!
Ain't that the truth! He's a good-lookin' man! All "this" plus steak too is too much to handle! (*Sigh!)
I’m just imagining that steak served with a salad of freshly picked veg from my kitchen garden. My boys have just begged me to make this for dinner tonight so thanks a lot for the inspiration. I love it when I don’t have to come up with ideas for meals. 🌼
Wow kiefer you just let me taste the best steak i ever had. The flavors is so simple and stay with you hours after. God bless you i hope i never forget this. My mouth and belly thanks you.
The tin foil is genius and i can't believe i haven't thought of that. I'm going to use that one going forward. BTW, I met you at a meatloaf joint in Beverly Hills (can't remember for the life of me what it's called - right down the road from Rodeo on Wilshire.) you were gracious and awesome. Nice vid!!
Downside is the amazing amount of rubbish generated for one meal.
Don’t ever do that with an induction stove!
Actor, Writer, Musician....and now this? A-mazing! What did you serve as your sides (if any?) and what brand of pan did you sear the steak on
looks great- I will try it this way- thanks, Keifer!
I love that Keifer Sutherland made a cooking channel with no lapel or shotgun mic. I can’t stop watching. Weird, cool, authentic. 👊👍👏
