looks like something to do with timing retardation... I'm not educated in these things but I'm assuming it's a combination of timing the exhaust to occur before the fuel is burned, and then the heated exhaust pipe causing it to ignite...

ALIENdrifter66 What? 2-stoke engine came after four-stroke engines. In any case you make it sound like rotary engines have been around forever, the first prototype was in 1957, that's after WWII. While a 4 stroke engine had a working model in the mid 1800's, it's a bit unfair to think that many advancements can really be made in any time soon when it's taken so long for piston engines to achieve what they can now. I mean even Atkinson cycle is only really starting to be utilized and that was also developed in the 1800's

I thought a sequential gearbox allowed for clutchless shifting, except for downshifting, selecting first and pulling away? Or does this specific model require the clutch when shifting?
Breaking in the 1 minute mark on the first outing is impressive. What do you think can be achieved without modding any further, is a 58 sec lap realistic? ^^
