CCD-TRV78E - Possible solution for cassette compartment won't close, jams half way.

  • This old JVC Hi8 Video Camera developed a fault where the cassette compartment could not close reliably. It appears to be related to the right side tape extractor pin assembly. Giving it a nudge as shown in this video might help you get the door closed. You'll probably need to undo the two screws holding the door cover, and remove it.

      I did take out a few screws on my old camcorder and now the cassette compartment won't close basically

      ​@@kalmahnalyd4615 you are right, it's the cassette mechanisms that's stopping it ......
      I opened a sony mini dv camcorder cassette mechanism be ause the door won't close by its own and I had to add power to 5he motor externally so I had to dismantle every thing to get to that gear wheel to clean the contracts
      After i cleaned it started to work but the door used to get stuck....
      So I opened again
      As a beginner I was not carefull as these machine needs expert touch only suck as yourself and I saw I left four screws which was holding the gate "loose"
      And after i tightened it
      It worked
      But still has problems😄

      @@Kingstersreejit thanks for that info bud. I'm trying get my old camcorder to work again. All I'm getting is the "push the reset button" prompt on the screen cos the whole damn cassette compartment isn't closing
