- This montage consists of every movie Christopher Nolan movie DISTRIBUTED in IMAX, a tribute to the work Nolan has contributed to the format, especially IMAX70MM.
Ever since he pioneered the technology for feature film usage with The Dark Knight (2008), Nolan has continued to expand the format and push the boundaries.
IMAX70MM is the grandest, most enrapturing way there is to watch a film. The scope of the frame and audio are second to none. One might say that you haven't truly seen a Nolan film until you've seen it in IMAX70MM, the way he intended.

Tenet is slated to release in IMAX70MM, so if you find yourself near one of the few theatres that is still equipped for TRUE IMAX 70MM projection, do not pass it up.
Warner Bros. usually releases a detailed list of every theatre in the world that will be playing it in the format. Even if the nearest theatre to you is an hour away, do it; it is an experience that cannot be described.

Yes I am fully aware that Inception and Batman Begins weren't shot in IMAX. Fact of the matter is that they were distributed in IMAX and still contributed to the format (especially back then) hence their inclusion in this video. Updated version with Tenet coming soon...

Hans Zimmer's minimalistic, clean, and innovative sound goes so well with Chris Nolan's crisp, grandiose, and awe-inspiring picture it's insane.

This is perfect! This can literally be an official trailer for all Christopher Nolan movies in IMAX. The editing is flawless.
Sorry, but it's not. The speed of cuts get to ferocious levels sometimes and when 5-6 audio layers are overlapping you end up with someting rather closer to white noise, than to an enjoyable mix. However, I can only compare to my taste, but Nolan as well is closer to minimalism and if you'd use their best-of-best scenes, well it be more sincere to do it with slightly bit more of subtlety imo.

He has made some pretty emotionally impactful movies if you ask me.
Nolan films are emotional but in a unique subtle way, I've never cried before watching Interstellar, but the vastness and beauty of the universe, the Dad-Daughter bond as well as the ages switching absolutely got me.
The sheer emotion in The Dark Knight Rises alone is enough to make one cry.
Tenet really did lack emotions btw...
This video was intended to show Christopher Nolan's work on IMAX but ended up being more motivational than a Tony Robbins motivational video.

If you merged all of Nolan’s films into a single movie somehow where Bane flies a Spitfire and Alfred Pennyworth retires to be a physicist and Catwoman became an astronaut, this would be the trailer

I don't see anything special in picture quality. Everything seems plain and basic in IMAX. CGI MOVIES LOOK FAR VIVID THAN THIS
@@SarFirraEdits okay...? I mean unless you've seen something in true IMAX 1:43.1 I don't think you'll ever realize how powerful IMAX can be. And it's not even about vividness, it's about clarity (IMAX resolution is 16-18K), contrast and gargantuan scope in imagery. If you have seen something shot in IMAX film and projected in IMAX70MM then fine, more power to you. But to be clear, none of this video is in 1.43:1, it only reaches 1.90:1 since that's the aspect ratio a regular television screen or phone will normally fit.

He has done so much for the format. I remember 10 years ago when 3d was everywhere. I knew it was a fad...when imax is done right, it adds so much.

Nolan movies are a breath of fresh air. While it might not been new but it is however unique, with how much originality he put on to his movies. Whenever Nolan is mentioned, i can already imagine his style of filmmaking. Together with hans zimmer score, they're unstoppable.

I remember watching the dark knight rises in IMAX and it was incredible with the extra scenes and big picture/sound quality.

@@TheDylanHoang Yeah extra scenes were included in the imax version, I saw both versions in the theater and it makes a huge difference.
@@1848432 the movie’s the same imax or not. Some scenes just have a different aspect ratio but the theatrical cut isn’t any difference length-wise. Not sure what extra scenes you’re referring to

@@1848432 I’ve seen all his films in IMAX several times. I’m sorry but trust me, none of Christopher Nolan’s movies have more than one cut. The IMAX presentation is the exact same runtime. Believe me, I know. Nolan doesn’t even believe in director’s cuts, so he wouldn’t have different cuts for a movie based on format.

TENET has more IMAX footage than any other film in history. They filmed with the Arriflex 765, IMAX MKIII, IMAX MKIV, IMAX MSM 9802, Panavision Panaflex System 65 Studio, and Logmar Magellan.
Oppenheimer was shot entirely on Imax 65mm and Panavision 65mm film using some of the highest-resolution film cameras known to man. This is unusual; typically Imax cameras are used for big action shots and more convenient cameras are for other shots. Director Christopher Nolan recommends seeing it in IMAX format.
I was looking for something like this to describe Nolan’s work. This is perfect.

I may not have seen Hitchcock's legacy, Kubrick's masterpieces, or even George Lucas's original trilogy in theatres but I have luckily been able to see Nolan brothers + Hans Zimmer universe in theatres and I am glad for that!

Imax makes a really really big difference in terms of feeling and understanding the accurate depth of visuals... watching interstellar in 4K IMax is still an different experience I wish there is a imax version of 2001 space Odyssey ....
