Lake Michigan is a one of a kind place. So many unique things to do and see. Hopefully, you can take a trip to experience all the glory of her beauty some day. 😎
Great video guys looks like a cool ferry 👍👍 you guys would love the ferry to the isle of wight you guys would like it as you have to drive up and down it abit like driving a car on a halter skater xxx
This boat looks interesting for sure, geared turbines? A relic from the 1950s cool, I had the good fortune of traveling to the Isle of Wight in 99 and got to ride the now retired 1938 tube stock 😎
I lived in Ludington, my Dad, Uncles and brother worked these ships when they were part of C&O Railroad. I remember there were 4 of them t one time, the Spartan is used for parts to keep the Badger going, I rode them across Lake michigan many many times....this was when they were working ships, not tourists ships, they loaded train cars and vehicles on them with passengers
The wife and I took the SS Badger on a warm and sunny day and has biscuits and gravy... it tasted real good. Wisconsin does not make very good pizzas. lol
Did you say the workers load the autos? I just assumed the owners of the cars drove them onto the ship. What about motorcycles? Do the owners or workers ride them onto the ship? Thanks.
The Badger would be a ship I would like to see some day. What can we say about Lake Michigan? It's a Great Lake, I live on Lake Huron in Goderich, ON, Canada and it looks about the same. Sunsets are gorgeous on the Great Lakes (or just Lake Huron as the only other Great Lakes I have been to are Lake Erie from Port Stanley, ON and Lake Ontario from Toronto).
Lake Michigan is beautiful as well. The SSBadger is a time capsule of maritime travel. The experience is unique and our family is looking forward to our next journey. Lake Huron is impressive and gorgeous as well!
54 years ago on our Honeymoon we went from Wisconsin to Michigan. It was a very stormy passage. Thanks for sharing this video 😅😂. We had stateroom with bunk beds and the toilet was behind a curtain and during the storms we could hear the water splashing onto the floor
I was the niece of the fleet engineer...Sylvester Larsen....back in the 50's so we got to ride on the car ferry many many times. It certainly didn't look like this one. Absolutely beautiful. Plan to take a ride this summer.
Nothing like it used to be 39 years ago. Nice to see the improvements. The lower deck was loaded full with rail cars at that time. There was a lounge onboard and that was about it.
I am planning to take my motorcycle onto this ship. On their website it says the owners of the motorcycle have to supply their own tiedowns. Is this true and how many tiedowns did you have? Did you ride your goldwing onto the ship or does an employee? Looking forward to this adventure next week.
Is this the Caribbean’s? No this is Lake Michigan. Very cool interesting video. #ssbadger

Cool. I like this video and type of content
Hey Moms! Glad you liked this video. The SS Badger is an amazing historical ferry. I am so happy we had an opportunity to take a trip on her.

I wonder if your dad and uncles knew Jerry Stever? my dad worked the car ferries as well.
Ketchup on a hot dog? Well I know you can't be from Chicago, that is sacrilegious!! HA HA🤣😂

Did this 1973 ,couple of 16 year old kids hitched up there
about half way across there is a marker floating.
What a voyage! Grand and beautiful
Yes it was! Not quite like your adventures! Have you ever sailed the Great Lakes?
Manitowoc!! Never been there
You should visit sometime. Just a quick trip for you, no ferry needed. 😁

Do boats follow the ferry across?
I road the Badger in the 90s as a kid. I honestly don't remember much at all.
I don't remember arcade games...
I rode the Badger as a youngster in the 90s as well. I don’t remember much of it, but I know that Badger Bingo is he place to be! Thanks for watching!
12:07, I'm pretty sure that's the same type of pizza I used to get in high school. If it is, that stuff SLAPS.
Ohhh, I want to try that pizza again just to see if it SLAPS! 👍

Nice video ,love my Michigan, thank you.
I live in scottville which is right next to ludington but I've never been on the badger
Awesome thats my hometown. My class in high school had the Prom dance on the badger.
How many hours one way ?
Hello... Normally it takes 4 and half hours... I really enjoy it.
Twenty some years ago my late wife and I took out goldwing on the ferry before returning across the u.p. and down the bridge on a two week adventure
