The Cairo Derby: Africa’s FIERCEST Rivalry | Al Ahly vs Zamalek (Roots of the Rivalry)
Egypts two biggest clubs, Al Ahly SC and Zamalek SC, are facing off in the CAF Champions League (CAFCL) final in November 2020, pitting the continents two most successful clubs against each other. The Cairo Derby is being elevated to the continental level, and the weight of which cannot be understated. In this video we’ll look at the foundational roots of these two clubs, and why the two sets of fans hate each other.

Ok I just heard some news. There is some heavy rain in Egypt right now which teared down a billboard that said “Zamalek, the true club of the century” 😂😂 (For some context, Al Ahly was voted by CAF as the Club of the Century in 2000)

Many key facts are missing regarding Zamalek
the founding story is not complete in 1914 zamalek’s egyptian (majority) club members started a movement (egyptianizing the club ) and eventually a full Egyptian board ran the club becoming the first egyptian club to be egyptianized in that era and starting a spark which led to 1919 revolution against brits because what happened in zamalek made them believe they could make a change in their country

I did, but I wasn't happy with how it turned out so I took it down. It was the first video I ever made in this series, and I hadn't fleshed out the structure of it. I also failed to articulate points properly, and it made for some misinterpretations that only I can take the fault for. I'll redo it eventually!

Suprising fact al ahly has the most fans but also is the most hated club in egypt due to their bayern behavior just buying the best players from every other club and having an unfair advantage due to their president being also the ceo of the company that owned the sponsorship rights to the league(the company is owned by the government) thus conflict of interest arose basically the guy was giving alahly ridiculous sponsorship deal and basically having a huge unfair financial advantage over every other team let alone the fact that the country uses al ahly as a soft power so the refs are just corrupt as shit when it comes to al ahly

@@moodchange2705 indeed Zamalek has been awarded the most penalties since var has been used in the second half of "this season" which al ahly had a 21 point lead in and you still won the league with the same 21 points difference so I don't know what are you bitching about .
we complain about refs when they affect the competition, you complain about a couple of mistakes that go Zamalek's way after it's impossible for zamalek to win the league and forget about the "mistakes" at the beginning of the season that eliminates zamalek from the competition in the first place .
