FAQ: Often times, zwo is said in order to avoid confusion with drei since zwei and drei rhyme. Both are correct. In keeping with the military theme of the lyrics in the song, Till says "zwo" since since it is what the military would say.
a decade after i still remember this song like the best "it's not because i'm german and do metal music that i'm a nazi", also it's a effin great song in the whole
Simple meaning to the song. ironically it's the most march like anthem, which was of course Rammstein's intention, as it's a nice contrast to the lyrics with them talking about being compared to nazis on the right, and their hearts instead beating left.
Well I know that was said 10 years ago but Nazi is a aconam translated would be national socalist workers party a far left tyranical socalist that is what Hitler wanted a pure socalist state where the individual submited to the goverment.
@@killthefalsegodemperorofma4226 There is a reason why they had 'socialist' in their name, socialism and leftism in general was popular at that time so by adding 'socialist' to their name they would appear as leftists. Hitler built his party on anti-Marxist ideas, he rejected both socialism and any other form of leftism, he took that from Mussolini. Nazis is authoritarian while fascism is totalitarian. The entire idea of fascism is for people to submit to the state, while Hitler's government was authoritarian in order for him to achieve his ideas of pure Aryan homeland. The two ideologies are similar but different. On the other hand, far left authoritarian ideologies(Authoritarian Marxism) are advocating for temporary dictatorship of the proletariat, in which workers would be a rulling class until the communism is established
"Links" stands for "left"... This song was actually a proving towards the fans and critics that they're against nazism, as, following the lyric: "their heart beats left 2, 3, 4", meaning the spectrums of the political left side: probably liberalism (this one probably not, as the lyrics misses 1) socialism, communism, anarchism... Ironically, they used the austrian "tsvoo" for 2, instead of the german pronunciation "tswei", which was most commonly heard in the time of the "Asluch"...
During a march, German soldiers use the word "zwo" instead of "zwei" because in noisy and loud conditions, the endings of the words "zwei" and "drei" can sound similar and be difficult to distinguish from each other.
Left 2 3 4 has nothing to do with political affiliation it has to do with Hitler wanting the Nazis hearts to beat on the right and rammsteins hearts beat on the left it’s about the heart
the video was a great example of collective action or labour action so im guessing its not liberalism that is meant by links. in german and european politics liberalism isnt always seen as left. but yeah these are east germans its not difficult to see the influence they had

Hello david from Germany to u in us...hope you guys get over your crazy politics...and no they are no Nazis..song says :they want my heart on the right side..when i look down it beats on the left ..

they are leftists. I love how right wingers get so upset saying this. "they're just saying they're not nazis". no, they're saying they're left wing. cry about it XD
if this song is about the heart then why does the videoclip go over ants and not someone with heart problems or somthing? nice translation btw thx now i can understand it compleetly ;)
@@frankxu1407 A bit late. But the reason they wrote this song was because people assumed loud german deep voiced metal must be nazi's. "They want my heart on the "right"". But when he looks down his heart is on the left. The ants in the video represent the 'small' people overpowering the big fat thing that's eating them up for breakfast. In the last second or two of the video you can see an outstretched human right hand being covered with ants, symbolizing the 'little people' overthrowing a nazi. @zer0nable Well, the heart is slightly on the left side of the chest; and yeah, the right side thing has to do with political orientation, so it's a bit of a pun.
From what I've gathered, the deeper meaning seems to be that Rammstein won't conform or go the direction that politicians would have them go. Essentially, that they won't march to the beat of another. Just my thoughts
With the most ironically march like anthem they are putting down those that thought they were nazis, by saying their hearts beats left despite people wanting them to go right (nazis).
I think they're saying that they don't want to be a political band and march to their own best, but if they must give a political stance, then their hearts beat left(wing).
@Muhsaft86 Yes, I realise that - but the point the band was making was that, as their music was deemed overly "militaristic" then it was obviously connected with the neo-nazi's. The irony, plus the imagery is great - workers of the nest unite to overcome the invader.... I know many on the left are not communists, not what I'm saying.
