- Blender's Grease Pencil has opened up many possibilities for illustrating directly within a 3D environment. Storyboarding is often done in a 2D application specifically designed for the task, Blender's Story Pencil Add-On allows storyboards to be drawn, organized, and revised on the fly, utilizing Blender's in-built VSE, scene and asset management systems, and of course, Grease Pencil.
From simple frame-to-frame boarding, to complex 3D scene and camera moves, storyboarding in 3D Space presents a unique approach to a traditional workflow.
Thank you! I’ve always wanted to do this!
You taught me how to use Grease pencil!!! Now i can finally mix bits and pieces of it into my 3d work the way ive always wanted to! i can't draw like you but i still like using 2d elements because some expressions just transfer over differently in 2d and i cannot be replicated in 3d.
Love this! I've wanted to experiment with this idea of merging 3D and storyboards. Thanks for sharing!
Sweet 👍🏻
Ah, I couldn't figure out what the story board addon even did. I didn't realize it could open different files and it was just used as a nesting device!
Can you recommend a way to combine Freestyle still views on a single Sheet? I would like to be able to use Blender for Technical Drawings - including a drawing border. But I'm not sure what the best way of doing this is...? Each freestyle view/camera needs to have the correct Scale on the Sheet - and also some text as a heading.
