It's funny ... I just replaced a TC Flourescence with a Neunaber, (a Seraphim, not Immerse). The Flourescence has some great sounds, but ultimately I just could not work with it, because of how much it took my signal down. It's something that you won't hear in a UA-cam video, but it can be an important consideration .
For the price I think it's fair. In a live setting how many will truly notice a huge difference. Theres a reason for the tc being cheaper, less controls and less refined but does the job. Shimmer like other pedals seem to be too over the top or too subtle I think tc hit the midway mark
In a live setting, you are going to notice that the TC pedal knocks your signal way down, as opposed to the Neunaber. Other than that, the Flourescence has great sounds at a good price.
I bought the tc fluorescense to use with my synth pedals, I don't like the shimmer effect on a "natural" guitar tone, always sounds "out of place" to me. For synth pads it makes a lot of good work, and you don't need to pay a lot for an expensive pedal.
On the TC unit you hear alot of "Warble" = LFO Modulation = seasick sound. I prefer the Neunaber. If shimmer is not done right - it can be Cheesy. Nice Demo though.
The Neunaber doesn't take your signal down so much, too. The TC is bad that way. With a Neunaber unit, you have direct control of an isolated reverb effect that is making the shimmer effect, so you can shape it however you want.
I have the Fluorescence and prefer the shimmers on the Joyo Atmosphere & the TC Hall of Fame 2. Yes, this unit knocks your dry signal down, and that is a serious limitation, so I would suggest the best way to use it is set to fully wet in your FX loop.
I'm looking to buy something that shimmers now. I bought a flamma reverb last time because it was only $65 on amazon. It's great and stereo out but I need more shimmer
I was having TC Shimmer pedal but somehow it sounded little cheesy and kinda off tune.. shimmer shd create a really warm and harmonized tone but somewhr it was little haywire. Though a good gear at the price point it comes at.

Thank you for the clean no nonsense demo… and no pointless yammering! Liked & subscribed.
I like yammering tho 😝

Not a pedal but brilliant, Valhalla shimmer.
Hail Odin!

The fluorescence shimer from TC Electronics is my favorite, the best on the market.

Neunaber is so much more refined and well-sounding. Miles ahead of the TC unit.
Yeah and costs 180 used
TC electronic Fluorescence its better, for me.
Tc shimmer is absolutely amazing and I prefer it over the other one ,,, and I have both ,,,, thanks for video bro
TC just increased the price of the Fluorescence $50 here in the US. Disappointed about that.
erictoniaschwab1009 i know! i ordered one(TC) from MF when they were $50 then changed my mind and cancelled 😔
Intentional new US policy to increase import taxes on Chinese electronics.
TC all the way
flourescences,es...es is tangerine dream inabox
The TC unit just sounds cheap and grainy. The Neunabar is the real deal.

@@d-rosejames4553 He does. This sort of comment just makes me wonder: What does Tom think about D-Rose James?
Sounds awesome to me at 2:20. I'm looking for that ghostly effect
