- The beach front city of Sihanoukville Cambodia is badly needing Chinese tourists to come back. As a international tourist roaming the streets it is obvious that this city with its huge chinese investment is clearly marketed to the chinese . 5 star hotels , casinos , restaurants all have many features the chinese love . I come across the Star Bay complex which has apartments for rent $ US 380 per week fully furnished , great location . Apartments for sale offering 8- 10 % return on investment , ideal for internationals or chinese alike .
Meet a chinese policeman from Chongqing who loves the place . Sadly many tuk tuk drivers have no english which makes it hard to get around for me . Empty shopping centre is unreal , its great , modern near beach but no people .

Yes i spoke to a lot of people who used to love the place . I love the development plans but unfortunately they have not completed . There are huge numbers of apartments the chinese will want when completed . Thanks for watching . mike

it a shit hole now mate. before it was the place to be best night life and beach life then they sold out to the chinese it is now a gost town

All shopping malls in EU countries, USA, Canada, Australia , Japan, Singapore, and in most of countries on planet-Earth are like this one on weekdays during working hours but would be full of peoples after work hours and at weekends. you're in in the Beautiful-City of Sihanoukville and very clean too. It's built after His Royal Majesty name King Sihanouk King of Cambodia the father of the current King of Cambodia. That shopping Center/ Mall is a super-Modern one. Bravo Cambodia for doing well having peace and progress and may God bless it always.

It seems like the Chinese came to that area, invested, then the Cambodian gov. took their money and did not allow their projects to continue afterwards.. now everyone blames the Chinese for the leftover buildings.. just hater horse shit

@@Crows0960 I live here, so I know weekdays daytime the mall is pretty empty. Weekends it's full of people from Phnom Penh who come for weekend holiday in Sihanoukville.
Most businesses in mall are doing fine.
Sihanoukville became a Chinese colony, so now many aspects of their economy are almost entirely depending on Chinese consumption and investment. International tourism in Sihanoukville is dead. Was just there a few weeks ago. Safe travels, Mike.
Yes your correct , i try to look at things with a positive spin , however a lot of work needs to be done to turn the situation around in sihanoukville . I hope the chinese come good . mike
Why wouldn't you look on google maps and work out where you actually want to go. I doubt they understand city centre

As someone who travels the world very often I've found that some of these language translator apps are quite helpful. Surprisingly not everyone is fluent in the English language mate, safe travels

what does city centre mean?
Hi I have always referred to cbd as city centre . It was hard to find the actual cbd of sihanoukville . Thanks for watching
