When Elvis' body was laid out for the viewing, thousands of people came to pay their respects. One man stood in front of Elvis' coffin crying. He stood there for five hours, not wanting to leave his friend. That man was JAMES BROWN.
Michael Jackson was involved in music for 30 years and had 3 world tours. Elvis was involved in the entertainment industry for 23 years that included a roster of 33 films (31 of which he was the feature entertainer). "King Creole" (1958) was banned in Mexico after a riot ensued at the Las Americas cinema in Mexico City, where the movie had its premiere and when "G.I. Blues" (1960) was released, all further Elvis films were banned in Mexico as a result of a similar riot at the same cinema, and was not lifted until 1971. Aside from 3 shows performed in Canada in 1957, Elvis never performed in any other countries outside the United States. However, he was stationed in Germany while in the army between October 1, 1958, and March 2, 1960. Both men are, without doubt, titans of talent but my money would be placed on Elvis being the bigger star. Had he traveled outside the US, like he wanted to, I'm not sure the measure of his popularity could've been topped. I also believe he was more influential on music as a whole, than Jackson.
When Elvis died James Brown went to Graceland and sat by the casket holding onto Elvis and crying for 3 hours. He had to be dragged back to his car by his friends.
Elvis was driving in Memphis past a car showroom. This black couple was looking through the window at the Cadillac inside. Elvis asked them did they like the car. They said yes. But we could never afford it. Elvis went inside and bought the Cadillac for them. And handed them the keys.
Elvis' cook, Mary is the one who Elvis bought her a house! Elvis lovingly called her "May Wee". One time Elvis was in the hospital and they had him on a strict diet. Elvis called Mary and told her to make him some hot dogs with the toppings and sneak them into the hospital to him. Mary said Elvis opened it up and starting working on those hotdogs. He said "We sure can get by them can't we MayWee"!
Elvis will always be more famous than MJ, not only for his music, but because of all of his countless good works, and his incredible generosity, empathy, and kindness.
Elvis and MJ was famous in their own rights. But Elvis was far more famous. That's no discussion about that. Fans still flock to Graceland on his birthday and the day he passed. He's still selling records. Still the nr one in selling records, and counting. 1.5 billion. Elvis will always be head and shoulders over everyone else. And there's so much more than that. His generosity, kindness, charisma. Can go on and on. And Elvis could sing any genre. Elvis will always be number one. The King ❤
I liked Michael Jackson but for me Elvis is and will be always the Number 1. Because his presence, the Charisma, of course his music in many different genres. And also, as a woman, you have to love❤ him. With MJ i never fehlt this attraction as man .
I read once where a guy worked as a security guard. At one of Elvis shows he wasn’t even an Elvis fan, and he said you could feel Elvis presence before he even got into the room.
Yes, Elvis was even more beautiful and humble in person. He treated everyone with respect and kindness. That rumor about him saying the shoeshine comment has been debunked many times. He loved everyone with malice towards none. He was so kind-hearted and couldn't stand to see anyone suffer or go without.❤❤❤
Look I'm a 66 year old white man that loved Elvis.I am from Memphis, but to say he was more famous than Michael Jackson is ridiculous. It was close but worldwide MJ was more famous.
I would easily say it's a tie. I loved them both but my 30 year old daughter has elvis lyrics tattooed on her arm. Not Michael's. I played them both all day long while she was growing up - and selena (she was 4 and singing in Spanish)
@@TomFurr-uc1hjNo, it's not ridicoulous. Some of you americans seem to think that Elvis wasn't as huge outside North America, but as a Norwegian I can assure you Elvis was the most famous man on the planet. He hit the world like an earthquake in the 50s and he changed not only the music industry but the whole culture. Leonard Bernstein said Elvis was the biggest cultural force of the 20th century. He was huge in Europe, Asia, Australia, South Africa, his records were smuggled into Russia. There are statues of him in several countries and he still has fan clubs and is celebrated around the world including here in the Scandinavian countries. His Aloha from Hawaii in '73 was seen by more than a billion people in 40 countries, at that time 1/3 of the worlds population. And take a look at the wall of gold and platinum records at Graceland, they came from all over the world. Elvis is in Guinness book of records as the most selling solo artist of all time with at least one billion sales wordwide. Michael was huge but his sales are no where near Elvis and Beatles. When Elvis died people in Europe gathered in churches, cried openly on the bus, went home from work. People from all over the world still visits Graceland.
MJ never came close to Elvis. James Brown spent hours shut in with Elvis’s body and he had to be helped home after. They used to stay up all night just singing Gospel music. Yes, Cissy Houston was one of his backup singers. Elvis never said such a thing. Some people thought Elvis was wrong to have Mary for his cook. That was taking advantage of a black woman. Mary was family and they loved each other. He would often find her still there late at night in case he got hungry. Mary was not only paid a big wage but she was given that house and a new car so she got home safely. He didn’t like her leaving at night and until she got a car one of his men drove her home. I think I would have loved to be Mary, she was cared for but so was everyone he met.
The Elvis Birthplace Park is in Tupelo, Mississippi . You can tour his childhood home, his first church. There is a beautiful memorial chapel there as well. He started with nothing, became a superstar, but never forgot where he came from. He treated ALL people with the same respect. Everyone from the garbage collection crew to the CEO were treated the same.
ELVIS is by far more famous than MJ. No Elvis did not say that. Haters made that up. Elvis had THAT effect when he walked out on stage! All I could do was stare and cry 😢
Elvis' Graceland home is the second most visited residence each year, second only to the Whitehouse. Elvis has now been inducted into 6 major Hall-of-Fames. Elvis' career was approximately 20-years long, Michael Jacksons career was approximately 40-years long, twice as long as Elvis', yet Elvis has sold nearly 2 billion worth of records while MJ has sold less than 1 billion. In other words, Elvis has sold more than twice the amount as MJ even though his career was half as long as MJ's. Elvis also holds the Guinness world record for most viewers of a concert when 1.5 billion watched his Aloha from Hawaii concert. Elvis was also named by the music industry as "Entertainer of the Century," yet some people, such as Eddie Murphy try to claim MJ was more popular. What a joke.
Michael was untouchable.elvis was touchable..he loved the crowed ..he went into the crowd.. he needed contact..always surrounded by his gang the Memphis mafia.(not a real mafia)
Elvis was raised in the poorest part of Tupelo Mississippi, called Shaggy Rag town, he went days without eating. Elvis understood poverty and Elvis never forgotten that. Elvis gave away so much that money did not matter to him. He gave away money, houses, cars, rings or anything of value. Elvis even threw a 30 thousand dollar ring in the audience.
So what, giving away things, and donating to charities where he grew up doesn't mean he still didn't turn his back on the black community when they really needed him, it doesn't mean he still didn't appropriate their music. Not to mention he was a pedophile and spousal abuser.
The rumour, first reported in Ebony magazine, was totally debunked as Elvis was not present at the time and place (Boston) that the person had accused him of making that statement. It was investigated and found to be untrue and was reported, in Jet magazine I believe, but a lot of damage had already been done as people had read the first article and the story had spread. I prefer to listen to the folks who knew him and worked with him, like his cook, his singers, friends and fellow performers. As BB King said of Elvis, "There is not a racist bone in his body, and believe me, I should know."
@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 they didn't have to record a song together to be close friends. I have very close friends, and we don't do Everything together, but I would be heartbroken if one of them died.
James Brown was the first & only person/artist who was granted prive time with Elvis lying in state and he stayed besides Elvis' dead body for 4 hours‼️
True. And it took his security detail to physically walk him out. He was truly devastated. A few months later he recorded Love Me Tender, one of Elvis' gold records, in honor of his friend, and added some heart felt messaging only as James Brown could. Did you hear this? ua-cam.com/video/TCH_OROH_WI/v-deo.html
Elvis didnt need (or have) studio gimmicks like MJ relied so heavily on. Elvis' natural baritone voice is one of the most sought after in history, and he was always in key. Even the legendary Pavarotti propped Elvis and said Elvis could do what he did, but he could not do what Elvis did.
Oh my God yes fried peanut butter and banana sandwich was Elvis is ultimate favorite sandwich. When you go to Graceland, they make them there for you in the restaurant across the street. So of course what did I do? I had to try it I didn’t think I’d like it. It was so freaking good that I ended up buying two sandwiches and my girlfriend bought the other two so when I came home I said to my husband you got a try one I’ll make it. My husband ate three of them. He devoured it. They’re absolutely delicious.
And Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie married Michael Jackson because he understood what fame does to a person. They were married for a couple of years and then divorced. Mary was his cook. Elvis bought her a house, cars.
Regarding you asking do they acknowledge Elvis in Tupelo, MS Yes they do they have a whole area called Elvis Birth Place I’ve been their twice while touring his home Graceland in Memphis,TN which is the second most visited house other than the White House his birthplace is about an hour drive from Graceland for $20 and $15 if your a senior citizen you can tour his original home, his original church & they have a small museum of items of his & his family & a souvenir shop plus a beautiful park & at the top of the hill 2 beautiful bronze statue’s of Elvis one as a child & the other just behind it him with his beautiful jumpsuit & him spreading his cape out just beautiful plus downtown Tupelo theirs another statue of him dedicating his charity concert he did there in 1956! They are very proud of their native son Elvis in Tupelo even the Tupelo hardware store is still there where his mother Gladys bought him his first guitar for his birthday when he was about 7 or 8 for $7.95 ❤️🥰❤️
Elvis had a hard time "Coming Down" after his performances, He would gather the singers at his hotel room around a piano and they would sing gospel songs until almost daylight. It helped him to relax. His three grammy awards were for gospel albums.
Also as a follow up to this video you should check out Elvis the king of kindness then you will learn just how generous of a man he truly was without all the publicity he didn't want to be acknowledged for his donations
As I recall, the magazine that printed that story about what Elvis said about black people later retracted the story. Unfortunately, some people continued to spread the rumor. Elvis was extremely upset about that rumor.
A friend of Elvis talked about having a FRIED PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA SANDWICH at the COLORADO GOLD MINE RESTAURANT, and Elvis wanted to try it. He loved it! So, SURPRISINGLY, FRIED PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA SANDWICHES ARE NOT FROM THE SOUTH. As a side note: When I saw the video of his cook Mary Jenkins making them, I tried them at home and they are... ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Now, one of my favorites!!
Elvis came out in the 50’s. MJ in the 70’s-80’s. Two different time periods. TV only came out in the 50’s. MJ had the benefit of MTV, music videos, comparing the times is impossible. Regardless, Elvis sold more records and his whole career was only 23 years long, how long was MJ’s? I rest my case.
I was fortunate to see Elvis live in concert in 1976 and 1977.. He captures your heart and soul. Thank you for your reactions and keeping his legacy alive. Enjoy your journey... there is no turning back. TCB ❤
No the story is not true about shining shoes. Sadly there was A lot of untrue rumors because of jealousy towards Elvis. Even his movie co-stars had nothing but nice things to say about him. Elvis was a wonderful human being & humanitarian & much more 💞💞
I have to say that I agree with you Whitney Houston‘s voice was magic. Aside from Judy Garland, which I just watched the other day a song called as long as he needs me from 1964 literally brought me to tears if you ever do Judy Garland I know it’s a weird thing to watch but she floored me. It brought me to tears. But I have to tell you yes my admiration for Whitney Houston for her voice her beauty is unmeasurable what a talent and what a tragic loss
I see from your other reactions that you like Queen and Dire Straits. In my opinion the only singer who comes anywhere near Elvis is Freddie Mercury, in fact he was a fan growing up in Zanzibar and wrote 'Crazy little thing called love' as a homage to Elvis. Dire Straits also have a tribute 'Calling Elvis'. Many other artists also cite Elvis as the person who got them into music - The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Led Zeppelin etc. etc. Also there are so many interviews with people who actually met Elvis who say that he was even more beautiful in person ‐ how can that be?!!! Keep going with your Elvis research, he's endlessly fascinating ❤
Every time you pop a question up, I find myself stopping and commenting. Sorry for that. My eyes still aren’t good so bear with me. Yes I was honored to see Elvis many times in concert. What was it like to see him? I remember when he walked on stage, it felt like the biblical parting of the Red Sea in the 10 Commandments. He was in person if it’s humanly possible to be the most beautiful face I had ever seen in my entire life it was surreal I remember my dad, saying how could anybody be that beautiful. The essence of his presence in the room is really indescribable. I wish I can find a word for it electricity? It was a feeling I haven’t felt since
Elvis knew that his gift was god given and because he was so spiritual he felt that he had to give back not only to those he loved but to people that he felt were in need, he not only gave financially but also his time and his name to improve situations and he truly believed that he had to give his all to his fans as he knew that it was they who kept him in the position he was in. He truly was a humble and generous man at heart and he never forgot where he came from. A lesson so many who have money and fame nowadays need to embrace.
Please react to the interview With Elvis’ black childhood friend Sam Bell that Baz Luhrman did as a research for the Elvis movie. It is heartwarming to see . ❤️ Gives you a real Insight to who Elvis was . Sadly Sam passed away I think last year or the year before that .
Thanks for your reaction. Cissy Houston did NOT sing with Elvis for years, though. She quit the Sweet Inspirations after one season in Vegas with Elvis, I believe. Elvis, apparently, was much better looking in the flesh than he already was on screen and in photos. Hard to believe. So many women and (heterosexual) men openly said he was the most beautiful human being they'd ever seen. Also that he was one of the nicest people one could imagine. Elvis was born on January 8, 1935 in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a 2 room shack of a house his dad built with money he borrowed from his boss. That's how dirt poor they were. He was one half of identical twins; the other boy - Jesse Garon - was stillborn. They were so poor, that Jesse Garon was buried in a shoebox in an unmarked grave. At Graceland they have a plaque with his name on it in his memory. Elvis always got along with the black community and learned a lot about music from his friends of color. Also, according to the one drop rule, Elvis would not be considered white, since he has Cherokee ancestors on both the Smith (his mother) and the Presley (his father) sides of the family. His paternal grandfather, Jesse Dunning Presley, was not happy that his two sons, Elvis' father Vernon and his brother Vester, married two sisters, Gladys and Clettes who were known to have Cherokee blood in their family tree. J.D. Presley was quite the racist a-hole, often drunk and a philandering husband to Minnie Mae (they were actually separated long before they finally divorced in 1954) who was always competing with his sons Vester and Vernon and who was known to abuse his kids when drunk. J.D. was was publicly against race mixing and was in denial about the Cherokee blood in his own family tree. It was more publicly known that the Smith family had Native blood in their family tree, so when both his sons fell for 2 Smith sisters and Vernon, on top of that, was still a minor at 17 when he eloped with Gladys who was 4 years older than him, Jesse was totally pissed off. As a child, Elvis already had many friends in the black community at the time his family was one of 4 "white" families that lived in the predominantly black neighborhood The Hill, just across from Shake Rag. His childhood friend Sam Bell said that some of the (black) kids in that neighborhood had lighter skin than Elvis (ua-cam.com/video/LrFCyNMvZWk/v-deo.html). One of Elvis' bodyguards once said that he thought it was a miracle Elvis got into Humes High School in Memphis, because it was "lily white". Elvis wanted to be more open about his Native ancestry, but his manager "colonel" Tom Parker (real name Andreas van Kuijk) was against it because he was afraid it might cost Elvis fans (and himself money). They did have Elvis play characters in his movies though where he had Native American blood (Flaming Star, G.I. Blues, Stay Away Joe). Once Elvis had his own (apprentice) job learning to be an electrician, he saved up his money and bought his clothes in the same style that many of his friends of color wore. He was called a (forgive me, just stating facts here) "n-lover" and got beaten up several times too. Later, when he was an established star, he would not perform at places where the members of color of his back-up band/orchestra weren't allowed.
It's like the entire world believes Cissy Houston was w-Elvis for yrs. she was there 5 wks. from July 31st to Aug. 28th & then left. so thx for saying she was not there for yrs. Problem is Whitney said yrs. so everyone will believe her, also Myrna Smith resembled Whitney so people think it was Cissy on stage.
The drug problem was not heroin cocaine Alkohol or weed..it was the medical drugs..painkillers, sleeping pills. As a real Christian he was..he hated drugs
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425Yes we do know that he was given amphetamins on manouver to stay awake and started abusing them. Amphetamins were prescripted by doctors back then, they were used by ordinary people as diet pills and no one knew how addictive they were. Elvis believed they were harmless. He was not on street drugs like many other artists were, and he hardly touched alcohol.
look I've been a fan with Elvis Presley for many many years he loved the black community.Elvis never hated anybody he didn't he didn't hate any nationalityhe had black people working for him if he hated black people why would he have all those singers and the guy who plays the flute and all that other kind of stuff you know rumors start and that's terribleElvis Presley love everybodyno matter who you were if you're black white purple yellow he loves you
Eddy Murphy had what is called "an Elvis room" with posters on the walls.... Many people, including some in the industry, have continued to give him a hard time being a fan of a white man. Eddy Murphy was tired of hearing him and finally got rid of his Elvis room. So who are the racists in history? Who are the closed communitarians? As for what Elvis would have said about blacks, it all started with a black journalist working for the African-American tabloid Sepia of Boston in the 1950s who wrongly claimed that Elvis said that the Negroes were just good at waxing his shoes and buying his records. This magazine belonged to the great black magazine "Jet" who investigated and discovered that Elvis had never even been to Boston on the date when the journalist said that he had done the interview and that the journalist had never interviewed Elvis at all. Jet magazine confirmed that this was an unfounded rumor. Elvis himself must have denied this rumor by saying "I have never said anything like this and everyone who knows me knows that I would not have said it" This is the truth, but the rumor has a hard skin and the lies end up being strongly anchored.
If Elvis did say that thing about a black shoeshine boy, he must have been stone drunk or something because it would negate everything this video proved about him growing up with black kids, giving a house to a black woman just because she needed a house and she like it, all the photos of him with dozens of black folks, all the testimonies from famous black artists, the incident regarding the Astrodome, his black employees all saying they were treated like family and royalty, the black ministers who knew him...all had nothing but respect love and praise. To me the rest are lies, rumors and nonsense. Having said that like Pluto wisely said, we all are human and have said things we are ashamed of. Later as said by his backup singer, she didn't care if he did say that considering how kind he really was and not racist in all his actions and interactions that everyone saw. Let the one without sin cast the first stone.
I saw his performance.live in the 70's. In Spokane . Hawaii tour. YES!! He had that Presence!! He was everything you think he was.. he was a shy guy tho. Very polite.
I read that there are approximately 84,000 Elvis impersonators or tribute artists around the world… making a living impersonating him. Btw so many rumors about Elvis.. that rumor re slur that Elvis said about black people has been discounted…he wasn’t even ever in the town he supposedly said that at. There’s a whole article online discounting that rumor
The Children's Hospital I worked at many years ago - we had a patient whose father knew Elvis. One day there was a huge box of beautiful coursage's delivered one for every nurse who worked there - from Elvis! I never saw him but I kept those flowers for many years!
WHITNEY HOUSTON & HER MOTHER CISSY HOUSTON: Whitney's mother Cissy sang w-Elvis for ONLY 5 weeks in 1969 from July 31st to Aug. 28th, so when Whitney says her mother sang w-Elvis for years, it is not true. Cissy left to be at home until she went on later to back up other singing artists. After Cissy left, Elvis had 3 girl backups (not counting soprano Millie Kirkham & then soprano Kathy Westmoreland). He then hired a 4th Black back up singer. THE PROBLEM is 2-fold: (1) people are going to believe Whitney if she said it (2)Elvis' backup singer Myrna Smith resembled Whitney so when people see Myrna on stage in the '70's they think it's Whitney's mom Cissy. It isn't. Seeing documentaries is a good way to learn about Elvis the person -- assuming everyone speaking is being truthful in what they say.
Loving all your Elvis reactions! You would definitely love ‘Elvis The King of Kindness’ and for an interview maybe his return from the army interview from Graceland 1960
It said that the Colonel would handle the business but Elvis had total control musically. Elvis surrounded himself with the best of the best. Most of the people he performed with were already well known and stars. To name a few - The Jordinaires, J.D. Sumner and the Stamps, The Imperials, The Sweet Inspirations, Ronnie Tuttle, James Burton, The Joe Guercio Orchestra.
His mother made those sandwiches a lot Peanut butter was cheap back then and very filling. Watch James Brown's moving tribute to Elvis, singing "Love Me Tender" James actually sat by Elvis casket when he died. He was a wreck. He loved Elvis and Elvis loved him. Elvis started in gospel. He said it was his rock. I saw him twice, first time I was 3 rows back and he was magic. See how Micheal Jackson was greatly influenced by Elvis. See, " Elvis Presley and Micheal Jackson/ I got a feeling in my Body" The statement about Elvis saying that about black people was created by a white editor who ran JET magazine. He hated Elvis and wanted to trash him. People need to see real facts, Elvis grew up with black people, he even said when he and his mother lived in the black neighbor alone, his black neighbors like Sam Bell, brought them vegetables and fruits from their gardens or they would have starved to death. You have no concept of that era, post depression, he didn't even have an indoor bathroom as a child. His father went to prison for writing a bad check so he said that people in his black neighborhood kept them from starving. He held deep Christian beliefs. Sam said his friend Elvis would say yes Sir and No Sir to Sam's parents, and in the south in that era, no white children said Yes Sir and No Mame to Black people. He had a good heart and Sam said when Elvis movie away he cried, and never got to see him again. thanks for giving Elvis a chance.
Of course Michael Jackson was more popular once Elvis was dead. But there's a million Reactions playing Elvis' stuff, so that says something. And Elvis was way more popular in the 60's and 70's when they were both singing. I love Michael Jackson, I really loved his singing when he was with the Jackson 5. And I loved his album with Billy Jean on it! We play his Thriller song at every one of our Halloween parties. And to answer your question....I seen two of Elvis' concerts.
I think you would enjoy watching the 2022 ELVIS MOVIE and would learn a lot about his life if you checked it out. I mentioned before that in preparation for the movie, Baz Luhrmann , the producer, interviewed one of Elvis black childhood friends in Tupelo. You should also check out that video, titled Baz Luhrmann interviews Elvis childhood friend, Mr Sam Bell.
What does that say about Elvis's Daddy... He said.. we'll go make this sandwich together.. I love that. and no.. I've never eatin a fried peanut butter banana sandwich.. lol..
Terrific reaction! I know that you will really love to dig deeper so here it is. There’s no better way to learn about Elvis Presley’s childhood this video. And if you don’t watch it, you don’t know who Elvis Presley is. Recommendation: Just as important to watch. An amazing HISTORICAL interview with one of Elvis' first close friends, a black gentleman by the name of SAM BELL. Sadly Sam died soon after this interview. You'll learn more watching this one video than ANY ONE HOUR HISTORY CLASS you ever attended. The beginning of the new ELVIS MOVIE came from this very interview about LIFE in one of the first mixed (predominantly black) communities in America. Black and white boys playing TOGETHER -- didn't happen down in the segregated South in the 1930s and 40s -- it was very dangerous to life and limb for kids or adults. You don't want to miss this if you want the actual truth: ua-cam.com/video/LrFCyNMvZWk/v-deo.html&t=
I did not know you are telling people you wrote a book about Elvis as well? Wow, not only have you stolen the identity of a dead man, you now are an author too? The lies just don't seem to stop.
MJ was very good and extremely famous. I don't care who is more famous, but I do believe that Elvis was loved by more people than MJ because MJ was loved by the young kids, teens and young adults. Elvis was loved by the toddlers through the elderly and around the world at that. I think Elvis had it all. He had a great talent for singing and a moderate talent for acting that he could have improved if given a fair chance to learn. I believe that one of Elvis' greatest assets was his humble nature combined with an immense charism that could charm anyone instantly. He believed that he was trying to do as God wanted us all to do; Treat others as we would like to be treated and when you see someone in need it is our duty to God to help them as best we can. I know he is very happy and at peace now to be back with his Mom, Dad, and Jessie Garon but mostly to be in the presence of the Lord God.
Oh I've literally just watched your reaction to part one! Elvis would have been more famous than Michael if they had been in the same age & era. He was really good friends with Muhammed Ali Elvis had a robe made for him to go in the ring. Muhammed went to a concert & Elvis said we have the greatest in here tonight and Muhammed stood up and shouted No you're the greatest. There are 3 more to watch The King of kindness and a generous heart. He paid people's mortgages off, saw people looking in the showroom at the cadillacs and he'd just go and buy it. There is a brilliantly funny one called When Elvis ran away to the Whitehouse it's a must watch Looking back the way people were treated because of their skin colour was absolutely appalling. Thank you for watching these 2 and your brilliant reaction you are obviously a kind and beautiful soul x
That story that Myrna was talking about WAS NOT TRUE!!!! He didn't have a racist bone in his body!!! He would be so hurt to hear that anyone had that impression of him!!!
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 Of course not! Just the opposite! She even said that she heard that rumor and someone made it up!! Someone who was jealous of Elvis.
@@arlenefisher1164 Ahh! my favourite comment. Some one calling me a a troll. Now, it is my turn to return with a reply that will leave you red faced and egg all over your face. Firstly thank you very much for trolling me. Can you tell if you can, why is it okay for me to read the same comments from the same people making the same droll comments bout Elvis but YOU! never call them a troll? Do I call them a troll? NO! However YOU! on the other hand call me a troll? Why is that? Is it because you don't want people to know the other side of Elvis? or, is it your plan to take away the freedom of free speech? Pick one. Lets see how you handle this comment. Now, failure means I have embarrassed you something awful and you now are considering shutting down your account.
That's one of his favorite sandwiches. Out of the blue - he get a group together and call his pilot and they would fly to Denver where they would have his sandwiches.
I think Eddie was just Trying to compare elvis to Mj to a 90s audience . No that shine my shoes statement was proved wrong in the 90s . He supposed to have said it in a radio station in 56 Chicago. But he was never there in 56
In Baltimore black singers and black groups were played on top 40 radio stations in 1956. I had all Fats Domino records and loved the doo wop done by black male groups. While there was segregation, music liked by young people, reigned. The Deep South was different.
Please watch the movie ELVIS It gives you behind the scenes look into the rise of Elvis. His relationship with his manager Col Tom Parker will shock you! Shout out to Austin Butler and Tom Hanks for their amazing performances 👏 And once again PLEASE 🙏 🙏 🙏 check out the Aloha From Hawaii concert ❤ new subscriber now!
“If I can dream” is what he sang after MLK Jr was killed he was distraught and he wanted to shack up the people. His manager never wanted him to sing anything that could be considered political but he did it anyway that includes “In The Ghetto “
Elvis was not racist. No evidence was ever found that the statement about shining his shoes was true. Ignorant people want to find faults out of jealousy.
It's not about who is more famous between Michael Jackson and Elvis, it has more to do with equality that Elvis presented with the people who worked with him. We all agree with his talent but his desire to reconcile racial recognition was what I most appreciate and that what makes him attractive.
When Elvis' body was laid out for the viewing, thousands of people came to pay their respects. One man stood in front of Elvis' coffin crying. He stood there for five hours, not wanting to leave his friend. That man was JAMES BROWN.
Wow! Powerful.
VERY TRUE.. ALSO ANN MARGARET WAS THERE HER AND PRISCILLA DID BECOME FRIENDS. IT JUST WASN'T JUDGED THE PEOPLE LOVED HIM AND CAME...💙💙💙
Michael Jackson was involved in music for 30 years and had 3 world tours.
The King ❤
Great comment & well said 👏👏👏👏
I liked Michael Jackson but for me Elvis is and will be always the Number 1. Because his presence, the Charisma, of course his music in many different genres.
And also, as a woman, you have to love❤ him. With MJ i never fehlt this attraction as man .
Exactly 😂
TOTALLY AGREED 👍!!
Elvis the king forever Hans from Germany Elvis the greatest recording Artists of all Time
The lady that was making him a fried peanut butter and banana sandwich,He bought her a house ❤
Right behind graceland. She owned his kitchen and cooked up a storm ♥️
He was so kind-hearted and couldn't stand to see anyone suffer or go without.❤❤❤
Elvis was such a special soul. Heart of gold .
Most of the folks that worked for Elvis, worked for Elvis until he died. Very few exceptions
Elvis far more famous than MJ
Elvis was big worldwide as well. YOU made a ridiculous statement!!!@@TomFurr-uc1hj
At a time without any technology. No marketing. You had to show up. In person. That still
Astounds me.
All I could do was stare and cry 😢
a DIRT RAG in a city he never went to printed those lies I was told in the comments of another reaction. hateful caucasian lies to create division.
Elvis was no,1 with a doubt.no one can’t compare to Elvis ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Her mom Cissy Houston actually only sang backup for Elvis in the summer of 1969
Elvis Was And Is And Will Always Be Very Famous ! He Was The Greatest Entertainer To Have Walked This Planet !
So great that he never wrote a song of his own. I'd put Prince, Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury ahead of Elvis as entertainers.
SAW ELVIS IN CONCERT 75-76? WOW!!
Elvis even threw a 30 thousand dollar ring in the audience.
he was a angel
So what, giving away things, and donating to charities where he grew up doesn't mean he still didn't turn his back on the black community when they really needed him, it doesn't mean he still didn't appropriate their music. Not to mention he was a pedophile and spousal abuser.
Shake Rag
The rumour, first reported in Ebony magazine, was totally debunked as Elvis was not present at the time and place (Boston) that the person had accused him of making that statement. It was investigated and found to be untrue and was reported, in Jet magazine I believe, but a lot of damage had already been done as people had read the first article and the story had spread. I prefer to listen to the folks who knew him and worked with him, like his cook, his singers, friends and fellow performers. As BB King said of Elvis, "There is not a racist bone in his body, and believe me, I should know."
James Brown sat next to Elvis at the funeral home for hours the day of his funeral..he was devestated.
and yet they never recorded a song together. so how close were they again?
Not true ,Ann Margret was also granted private viewing ,they say she would leave for many hrs, they had to make her!❤
@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 they didn't have to record a song together to be close friends. I have very close friends, and we don't do Everything together, but I would be heartbroken if one of them died.
James Brown's said'I don't care what anyone else says. I know Elvis. We sang spirituals together❤!"it's in the video
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 They were on different record labels, so it wasn't possible.
OK my friend, I told you I looked for you every day and here you are part two of Elvis and the black community. You never disappoint thank you friend.
You really need to watch Elvis in The king of Kindness" to see a little portion of what a generous person he was.
Elvis is the most important person no1 .Vonnie ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ is the best
He never forgot where he came from.
Whitney like Elvis grew up singing in the Baptist church from an early age.
He also gave away 100s of rings he had his jewelry guy with him.
Yay! You found it part #2
The lady he bought the house for was his maid Mary.
It was a feeling I haven’t felt since
It's been described as a vibration,by certain close people❤
The king is still getting awards from all over the world. Countries have concert halls where they show the king. Even Iran
what award id he getting in Iran?
@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 he has fans there. There's concert halls all over the world where people go see films of the king.
@@terrygarcia897 I will type the question again slowly. what concert has did they show in Iran about Elvis, considering music is a no no.
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 he has fans there. But not places to watch him. But other countries around the world have concert halls.
You should look up the video where Elvis in the 50s went back to Tupelo to hold a concert
This is Myrna Smith, she has muscle spasm or something like that, hence why she is like that. she is one of the Sweet inspiration.
There’s a statue of Elvis in Tupelo
He's in the blues hall of fame gospel rock country and many more
Thanks for your reaction.
No doubt Elvis was the best I saw him twice an you knew he was about to come in stage you an just feel his presentsbefore he came I
The drug problem was not heroin cocaine Alkohol or weed..it was the medical drugs..painkillers, sleeping pills. As a real Christian he was..he hated drugs
you do know he fell in love with drugs in the army, right?
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425Yes we do know that he was given amphetamins on manouver to stay awake and started abusing them. Amphetamins were prescripted by doctors back then, they were used by ordinary people as diet pills and no one knew how addictive they were. Elvis believed they were harmless. He was not on street drugs like many other artists were, and he hardly touched alcohol.
Yes yes yes! I saw Elvis 7 times back in the early 70’s. His presence on stage was incredible!!
look I've been a fan with Elvis Presley for many many years he loved the black community.Elvis never hated anybody he didn't he didn't hate any nationalityhe had black people working for him if he hated black people why would he have all those singers and the guy who plays the flute and all that other kind of stuff you know rumors start and that's terribleElvis Presley love everybodyno matter who you were if you're black white purple yellow he loves you
Seen his concert 1977. Still electric. Every bit of him
He was pure entertainment, I only saw him on TV never seen him live, WH was awesome too 🙏
Eddy Murphy had what is called "an Elvis room" with posters on the walls....
Elvis himself must have denied this rumor by saying "I have never said anything like this and everyone who knows me knows that I would not have said it"
This is the truth, but the rumor has a hard skin and the lies end up being strongly anchored.
It never said anything bad things about black people. Elvis loved everyone.
Nobody was more famous than Elvis. But Michael comes a very close second.
I saw his performance.live in the 70's. In Spokane . Hawaii tour. YES!! He had that Presence!! He was everything you think he was.. he was a shy guy tho. Very polite.
Yes he did went to a concert and blew the roof off it was a rumor elvis loved all races
I love peanut butter and fried banana sandwiches.
He was an amazing gospel singer. You need to hear him sing “How Great Thou Art”. He won I believe an Emmy for his gospel album
Always give it up for Whitney.. Iconic.. That Voice.
I was a small child when Elvis was at the Astrodome my mom aunt and my brother and it was just like they say God bless and rip
Pls react to elvis bridge over troubled water live 1970
My favorite ❤👑❤️
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 You enjoy getting your account reported and banned don't you? You must be up to 424 bans by now... but by all means keep trying.
Check out some Elvis Gospel please.
He was really good friends with Muhammed Ali
Elvis had a robe made for him to go in the ring.
There is a brilliantly funny one called When Elvis ran away to the Whitehouse it's a must watch
Looking back the way people were treated because of their skin colour was absolutely appalling.
Are you saying Myrna LIED?
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 Of course not! Just the opposite! She even said that she heard that rumor and someone made it up!! Someone who was jealous of Elvis.
@@bwana-ma-coo-bah425 trolling everywhere.....
@@rayjackson6917 she heard a rumour. that means it is just that a rumour.
Shout out to Cissy Houston her mother was with the Sweet inspirations
Please watch the movie ELVIS It gives you behind the scenes look into the rise of Elvis. His relationship with his manager Col Tom Parker will shock you! Shout out to Austin Butler and Tom Hanks for their amazing performances 👏
And once again PLEASE 🙏 🙏 🙏 check out the Aloha From Hawaii concert ❤ new subscriber now!
Always judge someone by their actions and not words ascribed to them second hand !
Fried PB and banana sandwiches were cheap so his mama used to make him those… he loved it even to the end
Watch The movie About Elvis from his beginnings to the end of his life…it’s called Elvis Presley The Searcher!
Yes I love fried peanut butter banana sand which is very good❤!
It's not about who is more famous between Michael Jackson and Elvis, it has more to do with equality that Elvis presented with the people who worked with him. We all agree with his talent but his desire to reconcile racial recognition was what I most appreciate and that what makes him attractive.
Tasty treat Elvis invented 😊that sandwich
