Good job mate 👍👍
Thank you, glad you like it
Wow Sony's front camera is trash. And audio also. 1+ is way better.
4:58 Jesus, that detail on Sony's lowlight pic on the telephoto is amazing! Look at the trees on the left; it managed to preserve the look of the leaves!
This is without a doubt sony's strong feature - detail preservation
@@PixelPeepers no mean feat using camera phone sensors. Sony nailed a lot of things with this phone. Sans the jerky stabilization at 4K, this is as close to convergence as possible that camera phones and point-and-shoots have come.
DxOMark scores: Oneplus 7 Pro = 111 points. Xperia 1 = 91 points. Funny. Sony Auto mode is actually not bad for night photos and manages to maintain the look of night.
So is that fair what dxo does to phone brands that don't "collaborate"?
@@PixelPeepers No, it's complete garbage and potentially blackmail. Especially as many sites refer to DxO as "experts".
Why is 4K video more stable on XZ3 than Xperia 1? Even though Xperia 1 has EIS & OIS but XZ3 only has EIS
@@Awunandre Did you switch to H265 format? HDR on or off? Try using the Cinema Pro app - it seems to work really well with 4K HDR.
@@Awunandre Because it has/had issues with syncing both OIS and EIS to work together. It's been fixed now but you can still see some twitching on x axis
I use my xperia 1 in manual mode all the time and the photos are just 👌🏻🔥
Then you don't have small children running around like crazy 😆. Trying to shoot a manual photo of them is like trying to hit a flying bird with a rock
@@PixelPeepers not really hard to take child photo in manual as long its daylight condition, eye af also really helpful. even i can manage taking pictute a kid on battle running at event
@@markt9086 simply my friend,,, it's all about "marketing and money" Sony doesnt make huge market on them phones product, like what Samsung and IPhone do, plus when you want to take camera shots with Sony it's better you use manual mode rather than auto, it's fantastic man! And one more thing, the Sony xz3 last year most reviewers said it has great camera with good HDR... Will ever Sony go down with Xperia 1's cam?! In my opinion i dont think so, It's all about challenge and money, marketing... Get it my friend.. you won't regret 👍🏻
@@markt9086 so far so good, never had such problem with WLAN been using it for 6 months. It's your choice at the end of the day my mate.
@@markt9086 you don't expect it to be DSLR.. it's a smartphone cam.. both Samsung and Sony and even iPhone have weakness points when it comes to cam.
DxOMark is a joke :)))
And not a very good one 😁
Yes. Pixelpeppers is profissional, but dxomark is a joke!
*Pixel Peppers. Sony Xperia 1 is the better overall for me!
Great photo at 7:32
So far as I have checked most of the reviewers agree that the ultra wide camera on the Xperia 1 is the best
Yes, especially in daylight scenarios
sony is better in most scenarios
Yes it is
It's crazy that the Xperia's HDR is equivalent to a night mode
Yup almost
DxoMark gave 118 to oneplus 7 pro
Compared to 94 of xperia 1
How people believe DxoMark?
Great comparison
Keep it up
Can't wait to make the daylight comparison, and i will try to replicate the dxo tests 😅
Sony has an excellent ultrawide camera. I think it's the best on the market.
About the videos, Sony's is a bit darker and a bit sharper, which i prefer. In the selfies, OP takes it.
It would be nice, if Sony implements their own Night mode. Maybe then they would be more comparable to the other devices.
At least give us what apple delivered in the 11 pro. Automatic night mode that triggers when there is not enough light
From what I heard and saw, the wide angle camera is made by Samsung...... But when I search it on Wikipedia for Samsung ISOCELL, I don't see Sony Xperia 1 name on the list... Correct me if I'm wrong.
@@waleednohur7685 The telephoto is the Samsung ISOCELL sensor on the Xperia 1. Both wide and ultrawide sensors are Sony IMXs
I really dig that moon behind the church photo 👍 Great reviews
Thanks mate. Yeah, that was a pretty lucky shot, any other time at night, that photo wouldn't have been possible
What a great and true review! Thank you!
Thanks mate, thanks for watching
@@PixelPeepers I knew Oneplus 7 Pro doesn't deserve 111 DxOMark score but didn't know performs that weak
I do love your videos bro. Thanks.
Thanks for your appreciation my friend
Makes one wonder about the credibility of those DXomark and some others. its all paid and false advertisement.
I've been raising this question on my channel for some time now... Do we really trust DxO?
I don't mate and I don't follow the hype either. Xperia over everything.
Better video for 1+ and selfie better stabilizer and overall photos from the back cameras from sony.
Nice job my friend very helpfull and honest.
Thanks mate. The sony could still improve its video with some software updates. It can manage the oneplus 7 pro, but the big boys like iphone or samsung aren't really in Sony's reach
And to think the oneplus 7 pro has a much higher dxo score... What a scam?!
Tell me about it...
@@PixelPeepers Ask DXO yourself to make sure why they gave low scores to Sony just because Sony didn't pay them to promote it 😂😂😂
Although Xperia 1 has a better details but in dynamic range OnePlus still better.. u can see if Xperia 1 is very blown out but OnePlus still keeps details in the highlight..
To be fair, Sony also tried the same trick with xperia z5 - it was one of the best at dxo, with its awful camera.
dxo test in every aspect, this video only tested on low light
Great comparison again :D
Thank you!
I don't know about OP, but in low light conditions, due to f2. 4 aperture the Xperia 1 uses digital zoom instead of optical (you can verify this in the photo details).
Maybe it wasn't low light enough to trigger the the digital zoom in the normal lens. I will verify the exif
Thanks for the review ✌🏼
My pleasure 😁
For video overall one plus does better also for selfie camera, but in low light photos sony wins with all three cameras, I feel like Xperia 1 has the most detailed +lownoise photos in low light more than any other smartphone, many photos first before zooming in look better on the one plus but after zooming in turn to look trash next to Xperia 1
True. But sony still has to battle the huawei p30 pro and samsung galaxy note 10 for low light supremacy, and sincerely, it doesn't have the best of chances
@@PixelPeepers I haven't seen the note 10 plus yet🤔
Thanks as usual Pixel Peepers for your indept analysis of cameras but can I humbly request you do a comparison of the Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium vs Xperia 1?
Sorry mate, the xz2 is long gone from my collection. Sold it to make money for my new phones. These are the drawbacks for running a small independent youtube channel
Please reply
It shows that there is no significant difference in image quality even after the update of xperia 1?
Nope, nothing significant. Maybe minor improvements that i didn't find out yet. Didn't have the chance to test it in good light yet
@@PixelPeepers do you have the last 6.56 firmware? I know that the last One with September update have some change for camera
@@PixelPeepers and if Is not, can you make a Little comparison before and After the update? Thank you ❤️
okay this is shocking. BTW I think DxO and other reviewer should try your method, which is compare and review the camera performance after a couple updates. I also feel there's some improvement in my Xperia 1's camera after the last update. and also, I think the battery life is also better after the updates. Keep up the great work!
Thank you mate, God bless!
awesome video!
Thanks mate
If Sony could get their stabilization in 4k under control, we would be in a very good situation. I just wish the other lenses were available for the manual mode. :/ But overall Sony offers one heck of a camera. And that cinema pro app is just... Gosh amazing
It needs a gimbal for the best video experience
@@PixelPeepers I definitely agree. I got a gimbal for my Xperia 1 and have been extremely happy with the results. I can't wait for fall and winter time so I can do more 4k HDR video from the cinema pro app
ia there have autofocus on xperia 1???
Sure it is
@@PixelPeepers bt, my xz2 have no auto focus on front cam :'( :'( :'(
it has best autofocus in the whole mobile division....because it has eye auto focus
Hi. I can't believe that the OP7 Pro has what seems to be micro jitters/wobbles when doing video especially at night. The Xperia 1 also seems to have unnatural/inaccurate colour rendering in its photos. I just sold my S9+ coz I was disappointed with the low-res/non wide angle selfie camera of it. Thinking of going for either the OnePlus7 or the Xperia 1. Thoughts & advice please.
In the first part of the video i think that you didnt mention that the sony has in bouth Frontcamera clips some kind of Flickr around for example the streetlights or in 4K the hole ground
But as General great video keep it like this ^^
That is an issue with my codec, sorry. When i analyzed the videos and made the text commentaries, it was before i transformed the HVEC codec of the sony 4K video to H.264 codec so i can import it in my video editing software. Transforming HEVC to h.264 resulted those strange flickers in sony's 4k video
Plz compare p30pro vs note 10plus
I can only compare the p30 pro vs the regular note 10 that is coming soon to my collection. I skipped the plus variant
@@PixelPeepers thnx for reply sir
Pixel 4 waiting
Mate, i am waiting for it also! Like hell yeah?
4:02 waaaao, sorprendido total contra todo pronóstico
Fantastic Xperia
Leonhart 👌👌
2:21 mic on xperia is good more bass
Clearly, as i have stated in the pixel comparison also. Sony has much better microphone quality when recording a video, and against the OnePlus 7pro, same thing
@@PixelPeepers please review about photography on xperia 1. Manual mode, manual exposure, and can Xperia 1 be installed on Google Camera?
🙏🙏
In some cases op 7 seems to do better job.... But finally the best photos in general aspect are taken with Xperia 1....not to mention camera pro app and the name "Sony"...
Don't care about the name, i only care about facts. And the fact is that sony has a mixh superior camera system over the oneplus 7 pro
I hope Xperia 5 will do better than the 1. Nice comparison. Keep it up Pixel Peepers 😊
If xperia 5 will deliver better photos, (I don't think so, as the hardware and software are identical) it will only be thanks to some fine tuning in post processing. And this supposed little software fine tuning will also be available to the xperia 1 via software updates. So it would only be temporary. But again, i think both phones will produce identical output
@@PixelPeepers We will see if there will be fine tuning in post processing on Android 10 because every year Sony did that with the new Android version.
Deci în afara de faptul că faci dreptate brandului Sony, mai filmezi și în Focșani, thumbs up👍
😅 in alta parte nu prea am unde... Daca as fi liber profesionist, as iesi mai des
@@PixelPeepers ușor ușor...cu răbdare și cu determinare poți să o faci...
Pana acolo, baby steps...
Just subscribe. Fair comparison
Nice photos especially in HDR mode.
I myself like the superior auto ones more. They are more true to life.
@@PixelPeepers yeah well said, Don't know how dxomark gauges the things without fair comparison.
I aggre for sony lowlight just using auto, noise raw only active in this auto....so why dxo give high score for op7...
Cons for sony is HDR mode that not good with competition even using manual mode
So you like superior auto shots also? Glad i am not the only one here 😁
SONY 👑 GOD FOREVER #1 ✌️ 👑
dxomark 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩 💩
😂😂
I think this time the front camera of Sony is poor because it uses Samsung sensor instead of their in-house 13mp proven sensor from Xz premium.
So it shows the Samsung sensor is very poor compared to Sony sensors.
Wrong choice made by Sony here.
Yes, but the xperia 1 also uses samsung sensors for telephoto and ultrawide, and they are just fine, much better than the ones on the op7 pro in fact
Pixel Peepers thanks for the info, but still the Sony’s choice of The front cam sensor could have wiser
@@PixelPeepers I only heard Sony uses telephoto lens not ultra wide. How can u know this infor?
@@PixelPeepers really?
I thought the main and tele lenses is made by Zeiss and the wide is made by Samsung.
@@waleednohur7685 m8 you make confusion. Zeiss made the lenses, not the sensor... The main 26mm sensor is from Sony. The other two are from Samsung.
The lenses are from Zeiss
So OnePlus has released gigabytes of updates for OP7 Pro's camera and it still looks 2017. Lame
Something like this, yes
for the price point k would say overall oneplus is quite a win actually compared to other devices plus onplus has no history of being a camera maker unlike sony does, welp i will find it out soon just waiting for the arrival of my Experia 1 this week
Sony Xperia 1 👌👌
👍👍
Great video! Sony is the best!
Between these 2 phones, yes, i prefer it too. And that is because i don't take selfies
OP7 has better dynamic range, X1 has better everything else.
I like Sony's approach in colors, but sometimes it's a lil bit too much.
Can’t stand the op7 pro pictures, they are way to soft
So, who paid a lot got higher rank at DXOmark
And you can see many chinese companies out there on the top places. The same companies that have been accused of cheating benchmark scores...
@@PixelPeepers indeed bro.. That's unprofessional..
In Mauritius the Sony Xperia 1 is $1350....
And you will get it in one place only 😒
That's overpriced as hell. Can't you import it?
Go for xperia 5
@@djfapples I was but I prefer 4k HDR OLED 😍
@@PixelPeepers I'm waiting until November, I send my sister money when she come back to Mauritius she bring it for me.
At least it's still on sale in Mauritius. Thought they dropped the xperia phones for good
WOW 👑 SONY GOD FOREVER#1 ✌️ 👑
👍
Sony Xperia 1 really great,💭
👍👍
@@PixelPeepers thanks
OnePlus has a surprisingly good video recording. It's weird even! Colours look amazing and the dynamic range is impressively good!
Indeed it has. Too bad photo quality is a bit lacking...
@@PixelPeepers
Sensor is midrange imx586 where Sony has best sensor right now on Earth , imx445
Oneplus has nigh mode in ultra wide camera and clearly u didn't use that
Thanx for the comparison. But youre not %100 right about some things. Exposure on video is fsr better on Oneplus. You say exposure is kinda same. And the COLORS! OMG Sony fix the orange/red tone. Everything look RED wtf.
I wouldn't say exposure is better on oneplus videos with the back cam. Selfie camera, indeed, much better. As for the colors, here it's a very delicate matter. The only light source on that street is from sodium street lamps, and they have very orange lights. Now, the 2 phones behave very differently, oneplus tries too much to compensate for the orange lights, desaturating and switching more towards colder tones. And this is not natural, it is not what i see with my eyes in real life. Sony does the opposite, it takes the orange light and oversaturates it, becoming bright orange or even redd sometimes. This is also not natural. Both phones being wrong, i cannot say one is better than the other, as no phone is any closer to the truth than the other
@@PixelPeepers i get what you say. But when the plants are green on Oneplus and red on Sony, even though it a bit yellowish in real life... Sony loses. What if on Sony the colors where purple.. Whould it be the same as green as it is now on Oneplus? Just because it isnt what your eyes see? No
Get samsung note x for comparison
soon. My note 10 regular (not the plus) is in the mail
One plus 7 pro won for video
Sony xperia1 won for photo
I took photos more often than videos so i prefer sony xperia 1 then..
4k video i still prefer it on the sony, even if it is more shaky
Sony estabiliza. Mejor e la posterior.
También el color es leal. Pero la delantera, el. Selfie... Da mucho qué desear...
Pfff... Too much of an unknown language for me 😅 Do you speak English?
@@PixelPeepers G.translator hahaha
What I say is, "Sony stabilizes better on the main rear camera. Also the color is loyal, but the front selfie camera ... It gives much to be desired, in video it does not look so good, however in photo it is defended ... "
Nice job mate?! Dxo is garbage.
Keep the good work
Thanks mate
Well, oneplus is a better overall but the difference is not big as the benchmark says, some people will prefer sony because of good low light performance.
Seriously dxomark? Gives 71 and 76 points for Texture and Noise to the Oneplus and yet only 68 and 67 pts to the Sony?! Dxomark is indeed bullshit.
Real world: Sony beats One plus 7 pro across the board.
DxoMark: OP7 pro - 111; Xperia 1 - 91.
Ok we believe you dxomark. :D :D :D
I believe only my eyes
Both camera are bad. But Sony is better.
I would say the contrary. Both camera are good, but neither the is the best. But from these 2, i would also pick the sony
ı thınk both phon is better but sony is more naturel
True!
One plus had the wrong colours.
Not necessarily. It just corrected too much the yellowish white balance
!
?
Sony is better
Clearly it is better than the op7 pro
