My horses do this in there paddocks at dusk as well but its a defense against mosquitos. One the lead horse starts to circle all the horses will circle in the same direction. The horses are in individual paddocks which does make it a little strange.

Please note this is an abridged version of the original video. So it is much shorter than the original video. But hopefully you can still get a sense of the time that the horses engaged in this behaviour in the first series of pictures as the sun goes down, where you watch the sun begin above the horses until it dips under the horizon. Please feel free to meet us at our facebook page as we discuss further details of this behaviour

I have to add my 2 cents here, wild horses do not wander aimlessly. Just like most herd animals they have a route they take to find food, water and any thing else they need. I have 3 mares, 2 with colts, a yearling & stallion. Watching them, baring the weather, they have a set patteren they go on my 6 acres. If you study your horse you will see that they do indeed go to particular spots at about the same time, every day. How ever walking a circle where they do not stop, I would have to wonder

I would have to wonder if there was some thing really wrong! I live in AZ where it is actually a free range area. Some folks have horses out on 100's of acres. I imagine they too have a patteren as do cattle. But this video says they do not stop, that is just too odd. I think they fudged it a bit. Look at the wild New Forest ponies in Europe. They have predictable spots where people can see them. As I said, all herd mammals share this habit.

Pretty pictures, but, I have a small herd of horses and they dont just go in circles. Kind of sad to see really, if you look and think about it. Take away the glorify words and look at what makes a herd do what it does.. But then thats just my thoughts

@JoniHankin - you're right, the earth is not millions of years old, it's BILLIONS of years old. Try getting some education.

Very nice, however, the earth is NOT millions of years old, nor the horses. Don't honor the creation more than the Creator. This is the evil lie that tries to cover the Truth. God created the beautiful horses, for our pleasure.
