Thanks for this review. I'm not as straight as you regarding the "need" of the cab simulation from the SGT-DI. The two share similar circuits, but are two different products. I didn't like the cabsim on the DI, the volume knob never matched between cabs, therefore, only one was really usable live once the whole controls were set. An amp is made for being played with a real cab. There are so many ways nowadays to play silent (preamps, ampsim VSTs, etc.). The on/off switch on this V7 is quite nice, I think. Damn, it's so difficult to try those amps without having to buy them (and return them afterwards), I really need to grow my audience to let manufacturers send me stuff too 😅
Nice review, but I think if you go for Ampeg most of the bass players do not need IR‘s, bluetooth and modern things like this. Anyway, I use the SGT-DI for practicing with a wired headphone inkl. IR’s and with a Yamaha DM-3 to an amp. and an Eich 112XS without. Maybe Darkglass will be the right choice to have all whats available. Naturally with a complete different sound. I think about the V3 or V7 with a 210 or 410 speaker. By the way - you can always use NL-2 or NL4 because you only need Pin 1+ and Pin 1-. Best greetings from Germany and have a very nice X-mas and a happy new year 🤘
Thanks for your review. You cover a lot. The ONLY question No One Seems To answer for so far is: Is there a cooling fan you can hear when using the V7 in a quiet room ? I have a PF-500 and it does have the cooling fan and it is a little annoying to hear when used in a quiet room like a Studio. I would love to know if the V7 makes this fan noise.
If you were to run 2 of these (rated 600 programmed) with the V7 they should be ok as long as your not constantly full gain full volume right? I’m still not 100% about mixing cabs and amps.
And the watts? The heat rates for 700 watts rms and the cab 600 watts!!!! Normally you should give that cabs 15/20 % of head room if you don't and push the amp you can blow the speakers!!!!

Nice review. I bought the V7 with a 410 since it’s the same footprint, but the 210 would have been plenty.
Nice :)
Thanks for Sharing this 🎵🎶🎸
My pleasure! 🙏

Yeah, you can hear the fan in a quiet room

@@erikarko Thank You !
We have V12 whit a classic 610 on the Backline and musiciens very like it !
@@psaint9720 Nice!! 👍🤘
They won't include the IR feature because it's a part of the SGT-1 Pre-Amp/DI they sell.
@@rickhill6277 I know, I know. Just felt like it was worth mentioning :)
Not a lot of power for the cabinet? I'm undecided between the VB210 and the VB112 whith a V3, I haven't seen any comparisons yet.
It was pretty loud and capable imho :) I’m gonna hit up Ampeg and see if I can do comparison :)

Would I be able to pair this cab (VB-210) with the Ampeg Venture V12 head?
If the Ohms match!

@@myname8888 if you just match the Ohm correctly, you should be right as rain 👍

@@KinkBass It’s class D watts. I wouldn’t worry too much about that :)
@@erikarko for my orange terror bass 500 (class D power amp) orange recomends 20% more power for the cabs (600 watts rms)
@@KinkBass Ok! :)
How many Watts is it pushing @ 8 ohms?
@@rickhill6277 Not sure. Should say on their website :)
350watts if it's 700 watts at 4ohms
That bass has no fundament.
Eh what?
