Our neurosurgeon told us today that he wont be able to perform the Epilepsy surgery based on the MEG test . He said we have to do the stereo EEG ( SEEG) . Whats your thoughts on that statement Dr.Omar ? .
In video eeg to detect the source of seizure patient need to have seizure to detect the exact location of seizure source. So with MEG also does patient need to have seizure during MEG to detect source of seizure ?

Years ago I had the surgery protocol done and they did a test that was not this and it told them everything that this one dose.

No need to record seizures as the brain activity can be sufficient but when we record seizures it is a big plus

Best to see an Epilepsy center for full evaluation and treatment. Insurance should cover

It depends on the cause of Seizures and the case if seizures are controlled or not.. You can ask your neurologist if the test is available

It is scarce relatively... Only in epilepsy centers... There are only 141 centers in the world
