doesn't gold find nullify magic find to a degree as they share item drop chance. If something is set to drop 6 items one of those slots can be used by gold and drop 5 instead cutting 20% of your magic find chance from the start. Also the higher the MF chance the lower the chance of a high rune or did they fix that?
I’ve been running this build for about a month now. Probably 20 hours in Travincal and crazy how right you were. I’ve been keeping track and so far have found 4 Jahs, 1 Ohm, 4 Vexs, 2 Gul, 1 Ist, 2 Mal, and 3 Puls! Thank you so much for sharing this!
I've been running a similar build for many months, and my experience is similar to yours. You, finding a Lo run after 28 runs, is uncommonly lucky. I've found a couple of high runes, but it remains a rarity. It wouldn't be honest to let people think that high runes are dropping right and left, but you're right on the money for the rest. Depending on what you want to achieve, you can swap a couple of MF charms for money charms and get even more money, that's what I am doing.
If anyone watching this video is thinking he will find a Lo in 30 runs just because i did. Thats up to the individual. D2 = RNG + ingame time to increase the chances. No build or guide in the world will garuantee high rune drops. With that being said if someone just does not want to hope for a Ber and Jah drop (wich will probably never happen) THIS BUILD IS THE BEST. If you pick up every small charm, grand charm, every amethyst and trade up. Gamble with the Gold etc. A raw High Rune drop is just a cherry on top but because of like 10 Boss monsters in one spot it feels like there are more dropping. Thanks for your comment!
I have done about 5000 runs so far. I didn't keep great records, but found a HR (Ohm+) about every 600 runs. Not sure about others, but I remember going like 1500 runs without a HR, which was awful. But I think 600 average is about reasonable from my experience in P1. Best chance for facets. Make sure to check magic (monarchs) and rares (orbs). Also, always run trav during terror zones. I found Mang Song and 3 Death's Web's this way hah.
Nice man! i had about the same experience with Loot, High Runes now and then (alot the first runs then awfull gap, there was an Ist rune phase aswell lmao every other run for short time) I also found a ton of Rainbow facets.. easily 20+ Gz on the webs lol i never found one in all my D2 playtime. I made big bank by Trading Circlets the cheapest went away for Vex from gambling with all the Gold
I’ve had no damn luck this season man and it sucks after ripping two hardcore barbs at 80 plus day 1 and 2 making stupid mistakes, I’ve literally done 1k plus trav runs so far after that and I’ve only managed to find a couple of ist as my highest runs it is crazy.
Its just rng. But you can still gamble with all the gold. From 75-90 i went like 200 runs once without any notable drop aswell. But i pick up EVERYTHING small charms grand charms jewels and trade up. 50 random jwls are worth something for crafting. 20 Ral sell for runes etc. Yes i want the big drops but all the little shit sums up and there is less rng needed to gamble a decent circlet/ring/amulet when you have infinite gold. You can sell that for an Ist or Highrune depending on the roll
Your build looks pretty similar like mine. The Stormshield on the other hand is imho wasted. I would suggest using Rhyme in a Heater base. It won't give you max. 72% block chance, but (I believe) 67%, cannot be frozen and several other nice mods and it costs far less than a Stormshield + Cham rune and the Heater won't slow you down as much as Monarch does. P.S. Gratz to the finds 🙂
I was happy about finding a stormshield and the cham that was a huge upgrade! Ofcourse i started out with rhyme because of cbf. I also tried Spirit monarch (nice + skills for item find btw) and a death´s guard sash for cbf. But the DR on storm made me tanky enough to watch documentaries on my second monitor while i pick up my high runes. You would have sold the shield and cham to akara i guess?🙂
@@Ehleminatoa It is your personal preference which is fine, as Rhyme in a Heater would be my choice for a Softcore Hork-Barb to get on the cheap way all the useful mods. However, at the end all that matters is that one feels comfortable with the build. Whatever floats your boat 🙂
I've listened through the video a couple of times, so I may have missed it but ... what players count are you running on? I assume players 1 since you seem to be doing runs online? I was wondering if the players-1 "no drop" stuff was an issue, whereas in single player sometimes people make sure to do players 3 so that change to not drop at all, on monsters, is minimized.
I'm following the budget version of this one and the real MVP in this build that I almost missed is the fact that you have a dwarf star. I've been scratching my head trying to figure out why I'm dying to the council members.
Any horker can run Pindel. And is just couple second longer than only trav because you start new game in act 5, WP to trav, TP to kurast, WP to act5 and do Pindel, exit game. Much faster than running from Meshif to WP in kurast..
Lets forget the min maxing and playing like a Bot for a second. You can do alot of fun stuff with this build. Follow someone in the cow level not even killing monsters xD
Man there must be something to this, I also got a Griffon from the exact same spot, before even getting to the counsel yesterday. I don't think it was a terror zone either.
you know, i did not believe you... but you seemed so confident that I had to try. Started with non-eth Oath, some garbage gear like sanders gloves/boots... real grind. Had to lure the council guys away and kill them in small groups so my merc and I wouldn't get blasted. A few runs in, eth bonehew. Nice upgrade for my merc. 20 runs in, fire gc +32 life. Traded for LO. Gonna make Grief now. TY for the vid.
Why haven't I seen barb players just haunt online games like cows or whatever and just hork away? Isn't that like extremely viable too? You don't even have to kill anything!

Thanks for this video! Made a horker barb after watching this and omg horker barb is an absolute god tier in MF and rune farming. After 1+ week of it, i found a sur, a ohm 2 vex 2 ist and 2mal. Not to mention all the uniques, gems and gold that i traded for... came to a jah, 2 ber, 2 ohms and 20+ ist. Crazy efficient
I play single player offline so I will never have the torch and anni, and a lot of this gear will be hard to get. I CAN currently make a Grief so thats good. But I cant also put a cham in a shield :) will have to look for CBF somewhere other than ravenfrost. What was the budget helmet you mentioned with 2 sockets? I couldnt make it out.
I been playing barb since a couple ladders ago. I used to laugh too lol. But i used a WW holding grief and ebotd cb. Is zerk better than ww? Or is that more to play and farm other locations?
Its about stacking 600+ magic find and 75% on find item while still having the dmg to farm trav in seconds :) Its a barb build designed for farming trav. Nothing else. Your setup will be better for everything else 100%. But think about it that way, while you walk to baal for example, i do 5 more trav runs in the same time looting 5+? boss monsters and looting them again with find item :D Killing more monsters = more loot = more chances for highrunes etc. Its a numbers game, how much demons can you slaughter per hour. This build is excellent in doing so :D sry for the long read.

Make sure to stack up the big rejuv potions. I needed like 2-4 per trav run when i started out with lvl 75 and bare minimum of gear. IK helm, rhyme shield, oath weapon, angelic combo, chance guards gloves stuff like that. It gets easier after grief because the dmg is so insane@@Medevalfyre
I run that setup aswell. WW with ebotd cb on offhand and enigma. way more fun and just as fast if not faster. 1 point in frenzy aswell, youll fly through everything with insane attk speed. 1 point in beserk for phys immunes. MF can be just as high, theres no MF on stormshield. The build from this vid is way too tanky imo. Unneccassery because you won't die anyway with full gear. ebotd cb hits my nostalgia the best lol. And yea, also way more useful outside of trav to mix it up when you feel like it.

Regarding Gold - in console (only I think) there is a really nice feature you can exploit thas where u get all my gold from. If you can find the right weapon from a vendor you'll go from gold to 900k in about 1 minutes or less. I'm gonna post how it's done (it's super easy and quick with only a couple steps) on my channel really soon
I hate it when I click on guides like this and they show a completed endgame build! I don’t need a character like this if I have Cham or Lo runes! You should have shown a fresh 75 build

You can’t run two dwarf stars and then not use Gheeds cause it’s to much gold find. Not using gheeds is unacceptable. Change the rings if u want, but not using gheeds is just silly. There’s no excuse
I dont know the numbers behind it but i tested it arround 100 runs each with 2 different grief. One with higher dmg roll but less -res and one with more - psn res but less dmg. The Grief with the better - psn res killed them faster
I use Unbending will runeword when I start fresh usually I have enigma and grief in a week or two last time I horked perfect griffon in travincal on my second day of the season.
I haven´t had the chance to Test Unbending will yet. I always wanted to make a Whirlwind barb with 2x unbending. Maybe thats something for a future Season

Sure 6 Ist pb is nice, i have not tried it but i was using my Kick assassin´s Last Wish Pb for a while it gives MF per character level xD The reason for Stormshield is the DR. Makes me super tanky and i just dont have to worry about ugly elite spawns or Tzone Trav
lets say for offline mode. i usually run at players 7 as blizz sorc. but now with my barb i'm not sure weither i should be running players 7 or players 1
In terms of drops its all Random anyways. I play P1 90% of the time and i found literally everything that exists in this game. Depends on how much time you want to spend per run^^ P8 travi could take a minute (with this barb build at least)
Early game starting this with arround 75 and no gear is clunky af and challenging. I needed like 3 rejuv potions per run. You need a good weapon thats most important. I used Oath in eth balrog blade. I recommend it

What would you recommend for frenzy weapons i know there are many budget setups, even some uniques are good but i always found it easier to get 2x spirit and use the caster spec to at least start farming hell mode. Frenzy without a decent weapon cant even farm shenk.. do you want to use 2x black flail? what would be the cheapest possible setup for frenzy wich comes close to the caster spec wich requires the least amount of gear of all barb specs
@@Ehleminatoa i was indeed wearing 2x black, but in scourges, and trying to stack as much crushing blow as possible (Gulli, Goblin Toe...). For leveling, lawbringer can also be a decent option, to get rid of phys immunes... but maybe you are right regarding caster spec - I`ll have to try that also :)

I mean yes, luck is luck and you might get it on first run and you might not get it in your entire life but you can compute average. For example see how many ist runes worth of equipment will drop in 1000 hours of runs and then compare it to price of average enigma in ist runes. So it definitely can be estimated.
Yea seems like people get different results on their horker barb if you read the other comments a bit, some say GG bro i have 5 ber a day and others are like you. And honestly call me crazy but we all know there is something with the character creation... How many times did i start a season, play like crazy and find nothing! then all of the sudden second character and i get a hr every other day or an Ist a day. It is definitly tinfoil hat territory but i could swear we have like an ID when we create a char and sometimes it says NOPE no drops

Berserk hit once but magical. WW hit multiple times but physical. Berserk hits fast and hard. WW tickles but tickles multiple times. Theyre about even with slight advantage to Berserk for single target and ww for large groups. Berserk hitting one target will kill twice as fast as ww. Berserk to hit is slightly higher than ww but with grief you always have 95% to hit so there is no diff in attack rating.
The vow runeword is called Edge and it vape at 15% reduced vendor prices and it's super duper poopet cheap to make and also gives Vigor like pvp 10 or something
"Expensive min-maxed gear" This is not even close to min maxed gear. You are giving up hundreds of mf for literally no reason. You're wearing a monarch without enigma, so you've got 70 points wasted in strength. It doesn't make sense to wear skullders for 10 more mf, when you are actively making a choice not to replace 3 mf small charms with a 40 gheeds which loses you 19 mf for absolutely no reason. A cham'd shako has almost the same stats as your arreats and chammed SS put together. Ist'd baba is strictly worse than 6ist phase blade. It's fine to have your preferences for gear, but making claims that this is min-maxed is silly
@@VikingKong. that's not true at all. Diminishing returns on mf are not NEARLY as bad as some people claim. Especially with hork, because you have almost 60% more drops. The difference between 200 and 600 is enormous, and a trav barb can afford it
because its bad for everything else. You could add shenk / eldrich / pindle. But the time you need to walk to shenk is basically another trav run in terms of time. thats what i think. Feel free to do chaos runs with the build. Will be fun. Not xD
At what level did you respec from singer barb til this mf barb? I just hit level 80 and act 2 hell with my singer barb, and I'm getting a little impatient with the singer build😅
I started farming trav when i had the items for the build. For me it was lvl 70 but im just lucky with drops, i got the runes for oath for example just by doing a few eldrich kills lol
@@jakoblarsen8505 I would do the following if i would ever play offline singleplayer, start a Sorc, set the game to P8 and pop chests in Kurast for a day or 2 after that i could probably build whatever^^
Looks expensive, just get 5/6 immortal king and maybe a russet armor and 2x ali babas on swap and you are set. Also any mf over 300 suffers a massive diminishing return and its near useless.
@Ehleminatoa I now use duel ist Babas, Wealth, 2x topaz IK helm 2x Nagel, chance gloves and gold wrap and war travs and a crafted mf ammy. My merc does all the killing with Fort, botd Giant thrasher, Andy's mask.
a walking pile of magic find and a equipped merc gg. Do you know if magic find from merc counts to players mf? Because i was using some crazy mf merc setups on the way to 90. I think it only counts if he gets the kill?@@WitchDoctor87

Any hork barb for trav can run pindle if you want to mix it up. I often do both per game.
You'll be richer but extremally bored. That being said I think I'll give it a shot next ladder reset.
I think trav runs can be fun! Plus all the gambling!!
It's actually a fresh breeze to swap to a item find barb in between farming with anything else tbh
When I get bored on my trav barb I try to find chaos runs or ball walks and hork the dead champions and unique monsters

yeee dwarf is gg. I was using rising sun amulet for while. It has fire absorb per character level :)
Just put on a helmet or armor with all ral runes.

I actually found Griffon's Eye from a unique mob (Heirophant) in Travincal on my way to the Counsel. The one closest to the WP.

trav is a lvl 85 area except the council members. i got windforce once there from a random boss before tzones were added

You get so many gems and charms too. Early in ladder pgems have significant trade value.

Rhyme Shield has cbf, Trang Oul belt is nice for cbf, Duriels Shell or Gladiators Bane would work and IK Set Helm

Its about stacking 600+ magic find and 75% on find item while still having the dmg to farm trav in seconds :) Its a barb build designed for farming trav. Nothing else. Your setup will be better for everything else 100%. But think about it that way, while you walk to baal for example, i do 5 more trav runs in the same time looting 5+? boss monsters and looting them again with find item :D Killing more monsters = more loot = more chances for highrunes etc. Its a numbers game, how much demons can you slaughter per hour. This build is excellent in doing so :D sry for the long read.

Make sure to stack up the big rejuv potions. I needed like 2-4 per trav run when i started out with lvl 75 and bare minimum of gear. IK helm, rhyme shield, oath weapon, angelic combo, chance guards gloves stuff like that. It gets easier after grief because the dmg is so insane@@Medevalfyre
I run that setup aswell. WW with ebotd cb on offhand and enigma. way more fun and just as fast if not faster. 1 point in frenzy aswell, youll fly through everything with insane attk speed. 1 point in beserk for phys immunes. MF can be just as high, theres no MF on stormshield. The build from this vid is way too tanky imo. Unneccassery because you won't die anyway with full gear. ebotd cb hits my nostalgia the best lol. And yea, also way more useful outside of trav to mix it up when you feel like it.

Berserk certainly feels better than WW, at least when you only have a single Grief. In my opinion.

Before Oath i was singer barb and farmed edrich / shenk until i could afford oath and the gear required to start a travi horker.
i had 2 spirit swords before oath basically
Regarding Gold - in console (only I think) there is a really nice feature you can exploit thas where u get all my gold from. If you can find the right weapon from a vendor you'll go from gold to 900k in about 1 minutes or less. I'm gonna post how it's done (it's super easy and quick with only a couple steps) on my channel really soon

My Horker Barb here requires no highrunes before Grief, i showed a budget weapon for Grief.

You can’t run two dwarf stars and then not use Gheeds cause it’s to much gold find. Not using gheeds is unacceptable. Change the rings if u want, but not using gheeds is just silly. There’s no excuse

IK helm, rhyme shield, smoke armor, angelic ring + amulet. Stuff like that

poison charms don't stack well with grief. Waste of inventory space.
I dont know the numbers behind it but i tested it arround 100 runs each with 2 different grief. One with higher dmg roll but less -res and one with more - psn res but less dmg. The Grief with the better - psn res killed them faster
I use Unbending will runeword when I start fresh usually I have enigma and grief in a week or two last time I horked perfect griffon in travincal on my second day of the season.
I haven´t had the chance to Test Unbending will yet. I always wanted to make a Whirlwind barb with 2x unbending. Maybe thats something for a future Season
Ist rune in the helmet is viable for the extra mf in the switch 👍

It's funny you say runes. But runes are not affected by Magic find. Runes just drop when they drop.

The Build you are looking for is a PitZerker. Thats different from my build. Enigma + 2x suicide branch with ist runes instead of ali baba´s 👍

Sure 6 Ist pb is nice, i have not tried it but i was using my Kick assassin´s Last Wish Pb for a while it gives MF per character level xD
The reason for Stormshield is the DR. Makes me super tanky and i just dont have to worry about ugly elite spawns or Tzone Trav

In terms of drops its all Random anyways. I play P1 90% of the time and i found literally everything that exists in this game. Depends on how much time you want to spend per run^^ P8 travi could take a minute (with this barb build at least)

How to do the esrly game for item find barb?
Barb is weak af before grief
Early game starting this with arround 75 and no gear is clunky af and challenging. I needed like 3 rejuv potions per run. You need a good weapon thats most important. I used Oath in eth balrog blade. I recommend it
early game I would recommend to go with "double swing" and later "frenzy" for levelling up
@@shee1313 yea but need a decent weapon. What would you recommend for frenzy weapons i know there are many budget setups, even some uniques are good but i always found it easier to get 2x spirit and use the caster spec to at least start farming hell mode.
Frenzy without a decent weapon cant even farm shenk.. do you want to use 2x black flail? what would be the cheapest possible setup for frenzy wich comes close to the caster spec wich requires the least amount of gear of all barb specs
@@Ehleminatoa i was indeed wearing 2x black, but in scourges, and trying to stack as much crushing blow as possible (Gulli, Goblin Toe...). For leveling, lawbringer can also be a decent option, to get rid of phys immunes... but maybe you are right regarding caster spec - I`ll have to try that also :)
How many hours would it take with this barb to get Enigma for example? Let's just assume Jah + Ber for the cost.

And yes I didn't understand people who said you can't calculate it. I mean yes, luck is luck and you might get it on first run and you might not get it in your entire life but you can compute average. For example see how many ist runes worth of equipment will drop in 1000 hours of runs and then compare it to price of average enigma in ist runes. So it definitely can be estimated.

How many times did i start a season, play like crazy and find nothing! then all of the sudden second character and i get a hr every other day or an Ist a day. It is definitly tinfoil hat territory but i could swear we have like an ID when we create a char and sometimes it says NOPE no drops

Berserk hit once but magical.
WW hit multiple times but physical.
Berserk hits fast and hard. WW tickles but tickles multiple times.
Theyre about even with slight advantage to Berserk for single target and ww for large groups. Berserk hitting one target will kill twice as fast as ww. Berserk to hit is slightly higher than ww but with grief you always have 95% to hit so there is no diff in attack rating.

The vow runeword is called Edge and it vape at 15% reduced vendor prices and it's super duper poopet cheap to make and also gives Vigor like pvp 10 or something

This is not even close to min maxed gear. You are giving up hundreds of mf for literally no reason. You're wearing a monarch without enigma, so you've got 70 points wasted in strength. It doesn't make sense to wear skullders for 10 more mf, when you are actively making a choice not to replace 3 mf small charms with a 40 gheeds which loses you 19 mf for absolutely no reason. A cham'd shako has almost the same stats as your arreats and chammed SS put together. Ist'd baba is strictly worse than 6ist phase blade.
It's fine to have your preferences for gear, but making claims that this is min-maxed is silly
Having this much mf is pointless anyway, you could drop 300 from this build and notice zero difference.
@@VikingKong. that's not true at all. Diminishing returns on mf are not NEARLY as bad as some people claim. Especially with hork, because you have almost 60% more drops. The difference between 200 and 600 is enormous, and a trav barb can afford it

At what level did you respec from singer barb til this mf barb? I just hit level 80 and act 2 hell with my singer barb, and I'm getting a little impatient with the singer build😅
I started farming trav when i had the items for the build. For me it was lvl 70 but im just lucky with drops, i got the runes for oath for example just by doing a few eldrich kills lol
So, did you complete the game on hell difficulty (killed Baal) with the mf barb, or did you just "stop" progressing at Travincal 😊 thanks

Looks expensive, just get 5/6 immortal king and maybe a russet armor and 2x ali babas on swap and you are set. Also any mf over 300 suffers a massive diminishing return and its near useless.

@Ehleminatoa I now use duel ist Babas, Wealth, 2x topaz IK helm 2x Nagel, chance gloves and gold wrap and war travs and a crafted mf ammy.
My merc does all the killing with Fort, botd Giant thrasher, Andy's mask.
a walking pile of magic find and a equipped merc gg. Do you know if magic find from merc counts to players mf? Because i was using some crazy mf merc setups on the way to 90. I think it only counts if he gets the kill?@@WitchDoctor87

350 dmg to demons = faster kill speed = more trav runs per hour. Dont really need lifetap. A council member dies in 2 mousclicks

In theory yes Players 8 Loot you should see High runes more often but D2 rng is very random
