Met Mr. Neeley at the screening Jan 2023...and boy.... what a hugh....it was as if we had know each other for decades.... what a pleasant experience and to watch the movie with him...and to show him my Jesus Christ Super Star logo tattoo.... just awesome!!!!!!!
I was blessed to get one of his absolutely enveloping hugs, I still feel warm when I think of it. He is every bit as sweet and humble as you think. He is an incredible man.
He has always been very easy to meet. Just go to one of the shows and hang out by the stage exit and he will usually stop and talk to everyone there, spending a good amount of time with each person. He is one of the most soft-spoken, genuinely nice person you will ever meet. I have met him on four different occasions that way. It probably makes a difference what city or town the show is playing. I would imagine that very large cities like NY or LA have far more people wanting to meet him, so he may take an alternate rout to avoid a mob. I live in Orlando, Florida, so there was usually only five or ten people who actually stayed around to meet cast members. I also met Carl Anderson that way. He wasn’t as outgoing as Ted, but still a nice guy. One time my wife and I were at the stage exit and I saw a friend of mine who is a photographer I had worked with professionally as we were waiting. He told me he was an old roommate of Carl’s and invited us to go to a jazz club with them after they were done there. Of course we was going to go anywhere with Carl Anderson. We had a great time, but Carl did spend most of the time on his phone. We were really saddened to get the news when Carl passed away. The world lost one hell of a talent that day. RIP Carl. I have met Ted twice in Orlando, once in Tampa and once in Jacksonville. While in Orlando, Ted invited us to meet with him in Jacksonville and even comped our tickets for the show, that’s how nice of a guy he is. Jacksonville is a three hour drive from Orlando, but it was well worth the time.
As someone who's done 3 productions of JCS with Ted over a period of 30 years, I can tell you that nobody even closely holds a candle to him! He's the greatest voice in the role of them all. AND he's truly the most wonderful human being. He's been Jesus on earth in human flesh longer than the real Jesus was !!!!!
I love Ted Neeley even admire him more now. I also would like to give recognition to all musicians who played in that album they were terrific special mention the bass player who played like he was playing the lead guitar awesome.

I was blessed to meet him in person. I found him to be so sincere, sweet, and kind. He is also the world's best hugger!!!

Never tire of listening to Ted singing especially Gethsemane the passion he sings it with is just amazing and his voice well no one can do it better
