@@workscs it's worth it even at 90m honestly. @@kylebusc3624 It is a worthwhile upgrade, but that 90m could easily go into other things that will help more. You can get tassets, prims, and a faceguard for 90m. avernic is easily the biggest noob trap in the entire game there is never a reason to justify buying an avernic before you can afford one of a scythe, tbow or shadow to camp their respective raids to rebuild quickly lol being able to sell back most upgrades to do a raid mega rare rebuild is infinitely more valuable than whatever negligible gain an early avernic gives you'd barely notice how much time an avernic saves for kph compared to how much time shadow saves, meaning by not buying the avernic, you get the shadow sooner, which means you get to make back the money for the avernic way faster than the other way around
I’m so glad I actually did almost all this before even watching this, got my fighter torso and bought only bandos tassets, skipped dragon crossbow and went for blowpipe, then saved for dhcb. I did but archers ring and imbued it, I notice quicker brutal black dragon kills per hour ever since.
Brutals are actually a good place for the archers ring since defense bonus’s from the suffering really don’t apply (due to taking 0 damage from brutal black dragons). definitely a situation where the archers ring is a good choice.
I thought for sure my guy was going to explain porters 5 forces, and blue/red ocean. Felt like I just walked into an economics class. Not hating, I actually loved it.
Everywhere people hate on Barb Assault, so i delayed my torso, and done it week ago and i had lots of fun in barb assault. And it didnt even took long(around 2-3h).
I agree with most of the video, but saying that accuracy and defensive bonuses aren't relevant is kinda misleading. A good example for this is the fight caves. It might seem that elite void is better than blessed d'hide since it has a damage bonus, but it's almost never actually worth bringing. The accuracy and defenses you get from blessed d'hide outweigh the damage from elite void massively since it's a situation where tanking is important and you'll be killing a lot of monsters with high defenses. There are a lot of other niche situations like this, like how before torva, inquisitor wasn't worth using in many places where it was bis because bandos could just tank better, etc. Or on the flipside, even before being given a damage boosting set effect, inquisitor was still solidly bis in niche situations where tanking wasn't relevant because the accuracy it provided over bandos made a difference. And this is doubly true at lower levels. As your defense, attack and strength level increase, they scale completely differently. Attack and defense gear lose a lot of their value at higher levels since the bonuses scale linearly with your level, and you have a better baseline stat without specialized gear as you level up. So their respective stat boosting items become less important over time. While for strength, it's a common rule of thumb that +4 strength on gear will equate to a max hit, but this is only true at higher strength levels. So if you're lower level, you need a lot more strength bonus to give you an additional max hit, and any strength bonus that doesn't give you one is completely useless. So prioritizing max hits can often be a trap for lower level players working with lower tiers of gear.
You are right, but he's got a point: I'd say this video is more or less aimed at end of low to mid game players that might be tempted to sink a huge pile of gp on ONE huge upgrade that would be useless for daily activities. What is the point in sinking 25M in bandos tasset if you are still wearing an amulet of glory ? As far as I am concerned the scenarios you are refering would be too long to explain since it requires some prior knowledge and could be it's own video (void). Great content for players that are at that point tho.
True. However, at low levels, there are almost no items that have a high enough accuracy compared to the strength bonus items to actually go for accuracy instead. Defence items are plentiful and might seem worth bringing over strength bonus items. But the thing is, most low level defence equipment doesn't cover the strength bonus slots like amulets, rings, boots and weapon... so it's always strength first, even at low levels.
@@dutchraider2 There are a couple notable exceptions, but yeah generally you're right, most gear in the game is not scaled in a way where practically you want defense or accuracy gear that often. But it's good to keep the other bonuses in mind because you can always find exceptions where they do matter against certain bosses or even slayer mobs. So while it is correct to say that most items in the game are designed in a way where defence and attack bonuses can generally be ignored, this logic breaks down super fast when applied to every piece of content at every conceivable level, especially when you're making decisions like strength ammy vs power ammy, or obsidian platelegs vs tank legs early on.
I get the Fighter Torso argument of course 25m is a huge save, but the defensive bonuses of the Chestplate are massively underrated. Good luck tanking bosses for multiple kills with paper defences: more time spent eating rather than attacking, supply costs increased, time spent banking increased.
I don't really agree with the dragon cross bow, while it's only a 4 acc bonus, it allows access to dragon bolts which have a significantly higher dps than the other gem tipped variants
The thing is that in the end you use more supplies. The enemy takes longer to kill, so they have more opporunities to damage you, so you take more damage. This is why increasing your dps is actually better for resource preservation than defence.
Dragon crossbow fires dragon bolts which is worth the upgrade. It the bofa is well over 100m more the d crossbow so not likely to see people jump from rune to bofa
i disagree with bcp. bcp is a shield of armor at 30m. you can afford to take a few hits and not worry about dying. i mean, high tier bosses and raids will make sure you mess up and tank a few hits and i dont think torso will fit well in that scenario. also disagree with ring of suffering over archer ring. sure, in bossing, ring of suffering gives a better advantage but when doin slayer or training range, i would much rather choose archers ring imbued over ring of suffering for accuracy bonus.
if you're doing slayer you should always be using rigour and the +4 prayer bonus from suffering is going to be way more worth your time/gp ratio than +8 accuracy which you aren't even going to notice because any non-boss slayer tasks worth doing that you don't barrage, have low defence anyway
Another thing that this list doesn’t really consider is weight. For armadyl armor this is HUGE. D’hide weights a lot and then you lose about 8-10kg switching to armadyl. While this doesn’t seem significant, during a solo cox raid or Sara godwars fight this would be noticeable.
Decent list; I wish you had sorted it by amount of gp "lost" on using the item. Also some items that probably could have been included. Kodai Wand, Arcane Shield, Elysian Shield,
I honestly don’t know a ton of places the brimstone ring is really useful or bis. Hence the 3m price. I tend to think the DK rings fit better most of the time unless you’re looking to save a switch on a boss which you need more than 1 combat style for. Generally max hits are king and you won’t get max hits with brimstone (usually). It’s like a fury, decent all around but not the best at anything.
Lets never forget that Better gears means less hours spent in game.. I see it has in investiment.. I buy it , i use it .. Save dozens of hours getting 99 or making bank and just sell it back for barely no loss or even profit! This guides only apply to those who dont have any bank yet.
I would say that the dragon crossbow is worth. Only because the price difference between that and the rune one is negligible when compared to the difference between the dragon crossbow and the acb. The acb barely increases stats and is only KIND OF worth it for the spec attack with ruby bolts. It's like 30mil more than the dragon crossbow
Bruh Seers ring 300k Suffering 16 mil Light bearer 6 mil « Seers ring is useless compared to its 2000% priced counter parts » Huh. Who would have thought??
So your advice on the rings would be fine if it wasnt for the 2 other rings you mentioned being niche. The lightbearer is only good once you get D. Claws, Dragon dagger is great if it didnt lower your accuracy, and the seers ring imbued giving a +12 to attack is actually quite massive and makes hitting a lot easier and is very affordable unlike the tormented bracelet. The archer's ring imbued is best in slot for range and range doesn't have another option unless you include the brimstone ring. +8 doesn't seem like alot but it actually is.
More specs = more damage than a zerk, archer etc, even dds is effectively 8 specs vs 4, do any boss with double specs is amazing especially in defense drain. Also useful for more xp skilling etc
In fact ring of suffering gets more dps in than most bosses unless boss can be protected fully from prayer which is not that often in highend bosses if u make a mistake
You forgot ACB, Primordial boots, ranger boots, amulet of torture and ring of suffering. Dragon crossbow is definitely a great upgrade from rune crossbow until you can afford BoFa since it allows you to fire better bolts.
Depends on what you are fighting. High defense bosses bring crossbow generally. For low defense mobs the msb is better because of higher attack speeds.
I don’t like leaving negative comments but this video is not good advice. Other than like pegasian boots and armadyl a lot of these items are pretty good. Also you promise it’s worth it to wait for items to stabilize? I bought the tang at like 220m and it’s tanked but I made around 3b at toa because I had a fang, this is terrible advice man.

So i'm about to hit 92 range and i'm going for 99 slayer range only. Should I switch to blowpipe? I'm getting conflcting information with each page/video I click. i'm using runite bolts and hitting quite high now just very slow. Can someone point me in the right direction? My bank is worth 22m (Don't diss) So i'm a little weary as most of that is just my gear and I have 4m left over and I know it's been heavily nerfed and I know it's quite expensive to run with the scales darts etc. Any advice would be a great help :)
Blowpipe is an essential weapon in your PvM arsenal however, you stated that your goal is 99 slayer. The blowpipe WILL speed up a lot of slayer tasks (like greater demons, black demons, bloodvelds, vampires, spiritual creatures etc...) however, it does come at a hefty cost. I have a 1.4b bank and I don't use the blowpipe 100% of the time for slayer because the darts and scales get pretty expensive! The answer to your question depends on whats more important to you: speed to 99 slayer or your cash/bank value. You can still get 99 with a RCB but a lot of the tasks will take quite a bit longer. You could probably get more bang for your buck using a cannon and cannon balls for slayer rather than a blowpipe. I will say if you get into PvM at all in the future the blowpipe is used pretty much everywhere so its a must have weapon eventually!
@@runewraith Thank-you for the quick reply my dude. Yeah sorry I should of elaborated more. But yeah more pricey but fo sure worth it. Thanks again dude have a good day!
Yeah go for the blowpipe if you like wasting 1-2mil on filling it up with sales & darts every week or so. Ideally you should be using dragondarts at 1k+ per dart, as it gives it slightly better stats than the magic shortbow (i) with amethyst arrows. That 4-5mil wasted on a blow pipe, is totally worth it compared the MSB(i), that costs 200k< for the bow imbued, + 1 mil spent on rune or amethyst arrows.
what is the ring at 9:16 that is suggested? I recognise suffering but not the yellow one. when I turn captions on it says: Library. I cannot understand the word he said even after listening multiple time
It’s called the “Lightbearer” it’s a reward from the Tombs of Amascut and doubles your special attack regeneration rate! Apologies for slurring my speech there 😄
I'm still confused on the magic formula, but cannot fathom how lightbearer is a better replacement than seers ring. I dont know of any magic attack that uses a special and since the lightbearer gives only special recharge passive effect it seems like it isnt a good replacement
It’s all situational. In reality because of the magic formula you only use magic on enemies who have no magic defense otherwise range/melee become the better options. If we only kill enemies that have no magic defense then magical accuracy really isn’t necessary and magic damage becomes critical. Seers ring only provides accuracy so one of it’s only uses is during barraging slayer tasks however if you wear the lightbearer you get double spec regen so the SGS special becomes way more effective for saving prayer and health. I’d take double the SGS specs over +8 magical accuracy any day. Also there are the nightmare staffs/orbs which have specs that benefit from the lightbearer as well. In most instances I probably wouldn’t wear the lightbearer with my mage gear but would wear something like the suffering for its defense bonuses. Hopefully this helps to clear some things up!
I almost never use my archers ring. I’ve found that the lightbearer or ring of suffering are what I bring in about 95% of my PvM encounters. That being said I use my berserker ring imbued all the time as well!
Disagree with bcp and dcb. In the time it takes you to get a torso you could easily make 10-15M cash which is half of the cost of a bcp already and on top of that its way tankier and gives prayer. Dcb has been mentioned enough :D
I don't agree with the dragon crossbow as the dragon crossbow has access to the dragon bolts that the rune dose not that is where it's getting the extra damage and utility
i may be biased because mage is my favorite combat style but eternals and seers ring are so cheap you might aswell grab them because theyre best in slot. but for newer players theyre waaay lower on the priority list
Hard disagree. Technically, the Brimstone ring is the best magic dps ring in the game as it has a chance to ignore the target's magic defense which is significantly more helpful than +4 magic bonus. In the same way, using the Boots of Brimstone for the added defense bonuses or the Devout Boots for prayer bonus are a lot more helpful in *most* situations where you are using magic. The only time I think the Eternal Boots matter is when you're using the Tumeken's Shadow to turn their +8 boost into a +24 or +32 magic bonus against a target that is normally magic resistant.
avernic being 64m for a few bogus stats while dragon hunter cbow is 64m is just absurd…like u want candy for 64m or u want a chef to cook for u for 64m???
Great point but for the most part yeah. There are a few scenarios where defense does matter however in OSRS the general consensus is: “monsters do 0 DPS to you when they are dead so kill them as fast as possible” since defense doesn’t really align with this goal it isn’t the top priority.

Good video but constantly hearing what appears to be the prayer flick going on and off throughout the entire video is very distracting, after a while all you hear is that noise and none of the words you are speaking
Brimstone boots are underrated. Especially from a tribridding pvp perspective. But definitely worth using in any brid/tribrid bossing situation where max str bonus isnt required. Range attack bonus, mage attack bonus, stab attack bonus, mage defence, range defence and melee defence.
the only boss in the game where brimstone boots have any value is like zulrah and maybe muspah if you aren't doing bowfa only lol inferno you'd rather pray bonus or ranged accuracy for tbow/bowfa hits on zuk, and anywhere else you bring multiple styles, you always have melee so camping prims is way more valuable in terms of inventory effectiveness
There’s an issue with bringing up both in a video like this because depending on what you’re doing will decide what’s more important attack bonuses or defense bonuses so putting it all into one video can end up being very contradictory and downright confusing to newer/lower leveled players which is the group this video is made for
Most people spend more on fighter torso than BCP. Dragon Crossbow after blowpipe considering the other 2 items you said where 60 and 100mil respectively while dragon is 1.8 mil. Dragon Crossbow has been great for DS2 , Secrets of North, Night of Theatre

being able to sell back most upgrades to do a raid mega rare rebuild is infinitely more valuable than whatever negligible gain an early avernic gives
you'd barely notice how much time an avernic saves for kph compared to how much time shadow saves, meaning by not buying the avernic, you get the shadow sooner, which means you get to make back the money for the avernic way faster than the other way around
@@kylebusc3624 It's only 1 max hit compred to dragon defender, and not even that always.
The production in these videos are amazing. Liked and subbed
Dont really agree on d crossbow since its pretty cheap and allows you to shoot dragon bolts
@@runewraithso wait did this guy accidentally find the best use scenario for the archers ring? lol
@@HogSZN I definitely think it’s a good use case for the archers ring! Another other use case may be:
- safe spot ranging black or greater demons
Everything was good expect for Dragon Crossbow take, good video!
@@christo0o Oh yeah 100%, as I said, I agree with the list itself.
Defence isn't really important in fight caves nevause prayer protects you 100% and you can just switch between them
Bro, these videos are so informative and you present them so well!!
Please don’t stop making content, I thoroughly enjoy watching your videos!
Thank you glad you enjoy them!
Agreed🔥🔥
I do love your economic outlook on this video
Defence gets no love. I'd rather not use supplies and be invincible than kill something 2 seconds faster 🧐
Definitely disagree with the dragon crossbow. It’s not too expensive and the ability to fire dragon bolts is huge.
Kodai Wand, Arcane Shield, Elysian Shield,
Those are some great suggestions. Perhaps there will be a sequel to this video in the future…..
I just bought my fang for 46m and its soooooo strong im loving it
I'm glad I bought the avernic before toa released

Great vid! Excellent delivery and structure.
Could you share your thoughts on the brimstone ring? I think it's currently going for ~3 mil?
I honestly don’t know a ton of places the brimstone ring is really useful or bis. Hence the 3m price.
I tend to think the DK rings fit better most of the time unless you’re looking to save a switch on a boss which you need more than 1 combat style for. Generally max hits are king and you won’t get max hits with brimstone (usually).
It’s like a fury, decent all around but not the best at anything.
Number 1, I had both sets hehe got lucky at basilik knight and gotten 2 basiilik jaw in one day
Lets never forget that Better gears means less hours spent in game.. I see it has in investiment.. I buy it , i use it .. Save dozens of hours getting 99 or making bank and just sell it back for barely no loss or even profit! This guides only apply to those who dont have any bank yet.
Video is decent though, I disagree with a few but I like how you present your data
Bruh
Seers ring 300k
Suffering 16 mil
Light bearer 6 mil
« Seers ring is useless compared to its 2000% priced counter parts »
Huh. Who would have thought??
Its more useless than explorers ring 1 which offers prayer bonus. Nice try though.
Nah you're just wrong
@@Shwrecked how so
More specs = more damage than a zerk, archer etc, even dds is effectively 8 specs vs 4, do any boss with double specs is amazing especially in defense drain.
I actually think prims are worth it anything that adds actual melee strength points is a must have for melee combat
archers ring is juicy wdym
Agree with everything but the defender and dragon crossbow.
Love the Econ focus
Whats better dragon xbow or magic shortbow imbued?
Depends on what you are fighting. High defense bosses bring crossbow generally. For low defense mobs the msb is better because of higher attack speeds.
I don’t like leaving negative comments but this video is not good advice. Other than like pegasian boots and armadyl a lot of these items are pretty good. Also you promise it’s worth it to wait for items to stabilize? I bought the tang at like 220m and it’s tanked but I made around 3b at toa because I had a fang, this is terrible advice man.
You had me fucked up on the dragon crossbow .
There are so many bosses that requires a crossbow that can use dragon bolts
Like armadyle boss for example.
Idk, dragon crossbow is decent...
If you're planning to use dragon bolts, witch you can't use eith rune crossbow.
you wanna know the trick? make and alt while your starting your new main, even when your training your making money, i have a fishing cooking alt that just regardless of how much money or time i have i can make a buck off it or at least counteract payments for mats im using on my main if i need. rc, smithing, wc, and flethcing alts are also great to look at, ill prolly upgrade my alt now its 105up in fishing and cooking, gunna make it a blood rune farm now and do some afk money making on my alt now to get levels while turning the alt into a main as well so i can switch on and off. get used to having an alt early as possible, it sounds like alot but so many afk things to do make this super important

I was using D cross and yeah I'm also using a cannon :) I bit the bullet last night and my cheap ass went and got one. The tasks are so so fast now so glad I got it. Only downside I've found is because of the range some of my safe spots I can't use "rapid" and have to use the Longfire so I'm having to bring prayer pots a bit more.
@RuneWraith yes sir, I didn't even consider using a spec weapon haha. Thank you
I would love if you made a video similar to this but the opposite, expensive items/upgrades that are cost beneficial, for example rigour.

Dcb has been mentioned enough :D
i kinda agree. torso is good mid game content which will take u to end game but eventually you will feel the need to upgrade it for raids or bossing.
Agreed here. They do have some niche uses and are dirt cheap for BIS so might as well grab them!
The only time I think the Eternal Boots matter is when you're using the Tumeken's Shadow to turn their +8 boost into a +24 or +32 magic bonus against a target that is normally magic resistant.
brimstone is way better
So what would you use instead of seers ring and archers ring?
Depending on the content the ring of suffering or the lightbearer.

we gonna ignore the defense bonuses and such that ARma offer over blessed D'hide and the defense bonuses of bandos over torso?
Great point but for the most part yeah. There are a few scenarios where defense does matter however in OSRS the general consensus is: “monsters do 0 DPS to you when they are dead so kill them as fast as possible” since defense doesn’t really align with this goal it isn’t the top priority.
How are you not gonna have prims on here? They are literally useless without avernic. They dont give a dps boost without the other
